- The Hakone Tozan line connects Odawara to Gora. This is one of three mountain railways in Japan along with being the steepest. It recently ( July 2020) reopened after being damaged from a typhoon in 2019. This line has been in operation for almost 100 years.

Note: This is NOT JR track/ trains, so the JR pass is not valid on this train, or in Hakone. If you have the pass, the best way is to take a JR train to Odawara, and then by the HFP (the cheaper one which doesn't include train from Tokyo)

We will visit Hakone when we visit Japan, can't wait to try the hot springs! it's good that they have railway too!
Try to go for a ryokan with the hot spring and meal plan. The dinners are a work of art!
