The New Guinness World Ad - Bring it to Life

- Guinness launches its most ambitious ad yet. In a parallel with the way a pint of Guinness is created, the ad shows a group of men bringing "a world to life."
Taking on the extreme challenge of creating this epic ad, Director Johnny Green recruited an elite team including Oscar winning set designer Grant Major and Oscar nominated Director of Photography Wally Pfisher.
Still my favorite commercial. Nothing had ever beaten this masterpiece yet

The ad is good, but the beer is true perfection. When I drink guinness, I feel like I'm on top of the world!
Love the way the advert talks about pouring and making your own Guiness.... when in reality the majority of pints 'poured' will be by Barstaff :)
In the Irish version of this ad, the song is Classical Gas covered by Area Code 615 (banjo), and it's free to download on itunes!

I love this ad. it's so epic and fantastic and it makes the good point of how a real beer is dispensed into the glass and then drunk, and Guinness does rule, screw budweiser this is the king of beers.

I think it is a great shame that you have failed to grasp the concept of this advert. It is about bringing the concept of the beer to life which happens right before your eyes each time a pint is brewed.
I am not a Guiness drinker nor a beer drinker, but one thing this advert does is that it reminds me of the brand and everything it stands for. This is by far the best advert created, period. I have been in the Marketing Industry, studied it, analysed and critiqued works and this amazes me.

@Themis711 Yeah i guess, but "Bring it to life" represents the reaction when you open a bottle of guinness or pour it, due to it distintive head.

Generalscorpio, maybe they didn't fore see that possible interpretation. As someone who works in that field I can guarantee you of the havoc drink causes. Have no doubt about it the drinks industry produce the slickest ads off all, they look great, make you feel good and give the impression you are missing something if you don't get involved.

I think to understanding the message they are trying to express here is multi faceted. Yea it is a good question why it is only male representation alone. It is apperant the effort to communicate masculinity, which can be about men as well as women.
Also there is a fanatasy aspect to this message that can trace to experiential consumption. Appealing to the inner senses and recreating fresh experience in a way that is sentimental for us. See the advert then listen to it again eyes shut.
Further to my comment below ... I wonder what kind of carbon footprint the creation of this genius advertising masterpiece left? Riddle me that.
At first, I thought it was about establishing Guiness World Records, then I concluded that it was a ''pollute as much as possible'' record attempt. Finally, I saw the cup. Guiness beer... of course it was a beer ad! What else? Silly me.

@skezness It's an important but little known fact that the Irish are in fact decended from Magratheans who decided not to go into hiding while the galactic stock market crashed and so eventually settled on one of the planets they had recently finished constructing.

All the people complaining about the ad need to realise that irrespective of whether you drink Guinness or not it's a Brilliant Advert that all that matters anything else is just bollocks

I agree with 2k8chrisc. It's a beer advert for Christ sakes and don't take it so seriously. If they had you directing all the adverts they would all suck with all the " oh we've got to keep an equal balance in the cast members" and "oh course their responsible" *geese get a grip.

My god. Its a beer commercial. I really didnt want to do this, but i felt compelled at the staggering amounts of complaints.
Their main consumer is men, of course theyre going to show only men. There are TONS of adverts with only women in them, do we hear complaining, whinging because no males where shown? No.
It works both way you know.
Its a lovely advert, clever in a strange way i guess. But its better than most out there.

@owhyte1 I'm gonna use several because youtube has a stupid character limit.
Basically I have had the experiences that make me understand why people choose alcohol, I'm currently unemployed, I'm a graduate and I don't feel like my life is going anywhere, for many that is reason enough to start drinking, I've yet to succumb to the temptation.
And I'm aware of the slcikness of the alcohol ads. believe me they're some of my favourites, but fortunately there is now a move to educate people.
If I was the client, I'd ask for my money back

The fact that you have to explain it to someone is indicating that the ad itself is void. other wise you wouldn't need to explain.
