Greatly helpful. I wish this was posted earlier because I had an art project on Water color!
Thank you! I am new to WC and this helps greatly! Your voice was made for teaching!!
loved your tips!
Love this! Thanks!
Used to do this years ago, but long forgot how to do it. Thanks!
Thanks for this! That was driving me NUTS!!
This is really helpful ..
Nice, I just want to make it flat so I can make some to give away for Christmas without them getting to bumpy. If it has a few bumps I’m ok with it
Superb
Thanks! The material physics makes sense. I don't have any artist supplies like gum tape.. any advice for using easy stuff to find at the hardware store?
gum tape is basically paper packing tape, which is easily found at most hardware stores
Hi Jessica, instead of gum paper, do you think painters tape might work? Thanks for the video! Very helpful, and your cat is adorable!!!
Unfortunately, painter's tape doesn't like to stick to wet paper, so if you try soaking the paper and taping it down with that, it'll just come right off!
would it work if you put a frame of painters/masking tape down on the board first? Then have the gum tape stick to the paper & the non-stick side of the painters tape ? Would that make removal easier ?
Hallo jessica I'm an avid new student of yours and I'm wondering what weight or type of paper do you use
So I’ve been using watercolor and gauche for a couple of years, and I’ve never stretched the paper beforehand. When they’re, done, I spray the back of the paper with water, cover with a board and put some weights on it. I should add I cover the paining itself with some special wax made for watercolors. Idk. Is that bad? Lol
That's definitely not bad! There are plenty of ways to work with watercolor - this is just one of them!
For the staple method, what is the white board to which you are stapling the watercolor paper?
Interesting but couldn't you just place them under something heavy and flat after they're wet?
Couldn't you take regular foam board or the mdf as well and spray it with a hydrophobic kind of paint or finish, like spray on polyurethane. It should end up water proof and those cans are only like $10 and could make tons of boards. Just a thought.
Can you teach us how to draw anime
