Today I will talk about three related topics: 1) autonomous system (AS), 2) two types of routers in terms of AS: interior routers and border routers, and 3) Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
Playlists:
Routing and Switching
• Switching and Routing
IPv4 Basics IPv4 Basics
• Tricks to five classes...
Cyber Attacks and Defense
• AAA framework: TACACS+...
Basic Cryptography
• Private Key Encryption...
Advanced Cryptography:
• What is digital signat...
Public Key Infrastructure
• Why digital certificate?
Remote Access & WAN Technologies
• Circuit Switching vs. ...
Thanks for your great videos. Just one thing on this one: we have been using also 32-bit ASNs for a long time now since the 16 bit space wasn't enough. For example RIPE offers 32-bit support since January 2007 and has 32-bit ASNs as a default since 2009.
Great video Sunny. Your videos are always direct to the point and simple to understand. Thanks.
I've been trying to understand this for a long time thank you
Thank you always,Sunny, for your elaborating videos.
Great video! I always share these on my LinkedIn. Good stuff.
Very informative
Really good and helpful video
Great video
Thank You, ur video is useful❤
Can you explain the asn max is 65,535, how come 100,000 asn is in used globally?
i love you sunny!!!
Really it's very useful... Plz update soon about IGP
That is how the Internet works
Autonomous system
- an independent network or collection of networks controlled by a single entity
- network of routers using the same routing policy and logic
- has a globally unique 17 bit ID assigned by IANA
ASN Routers
Interior Routers
- do not support connections to other ASN
- forward packets internally
Border Routers
-Connect different ASN
- forward IP packets across ASNs
Exterior Routing Protocol
Border Gateway Protocol
