- I haven't met many people as cool as Bob Rees. He's a world traveler, a motorcycle adventurist and an overall amazing guy. He was paralyzed in a horrific motorcycle accident four years ago and even though he lost his wife in the accident and had to adapt to a whole new way of life, Bob spent no time making excuses or feeling sorry for himself.
To honor the memory of his wife Bob chooses to keep doing the things he loves: playing music and riding motorcycles. With the help of a few friends Bob was able to modify his Harley Davidson and design a custom sidecar that he can access with his wheelchair.
In this video Bob gives us a tour of his bike and explains all the necessary modifications he made in order to ride again.

Bob is a survivor and then some; so impressed at your determination to modify the Harley and know it must have helped in the grieving process after the loss of your precious wife of 40+years.
He pretty much epitomizes resilience!
Gotta love Bob keeping his libations handy! I've been riding for decades and Bob would be a great riding buddy.
Bob is one gutsy and cool guy to get back into biking. I can’t imagine biking or sledding now. The ramp looks good, but I guess all ramps and lifts have their bad days lol!! I/we appreciated seeing your photo in the corner of the screen. After watching all your transfers, he is really good at it! That is a pretty small footprint and length for a power chair! And, I’d never even seen or really knew what a catheter was until 18 months ago. Thanks Brittney!
Great video Britany and Bob. Really interesting engineered solutions. Sounds like Bob's friend is quite an engineer too. I like their approach to solving problems.
Bob, I am so sad to hear of the loss of your dear wife, and your injuries. However, I am really pleased to see how determined you are to rebuild your life. Well done from a fellow biker who once had a bike with a sidecar.
Yeah his friend his a genius!
Love you Brittney. Great to see and hear from you and Bob.
Well done. The video and interview are excellent. My thanks to you, Bob, and Bob's cameraman. Very nice adaptive controls and sidecar. As for myself, I am a 21 yr paraplegic motorcyclist pushing on 72 and I am building my third adapted motorcycle. I would post a photo of it but I do not see the camera icon. Anyway, great job and keep up the good work.
Thanks for making this into a video. It's a shame that the live attempts didn't quite work out.
Yeah that was such a bummer!
Fantastic! Lovely to see this Ozzy ingenuity. Thanks for persisting - that was a really interesting presentation. Will be sure to follow Bob's story as well. (If there were a golden like button, this one deserves that).
Yeah he definitely deserves a golden like button lol. Such a fun and interesting guy!
It’s great to see us doing the things we love ❤️ and seeing great Aussie innovations 😊
Both the bike and the wheels chair look good, even that foldable stool look good and well made; interesting setup.
Yeah Bob's pretty ingenious!
Fantastic video!! Definitely worth a watch for more than just motorcycle riders. Learned a lot about commode chair alterations and about a new type of power chair as well. Fantastic!!
Yeah Bob figured out so much beyond just riding that helps him on his adventures!
Thanks for making this! 3 rd time’s a charm 😂. I want to get back to riding . The more videos showing how it’s done the better !!!!! Absolutely 💯 % love it !
Good luck! I hope you do get back to riding!
Wow!!! This bike is truly amazing and so wonderful that Bob was able to get back on a bike again after his accident. Doing what you love definitely helps so much in your recovery after any accident or health setback. I watched the two attempts of the Live on Sunday was super excited to see you featuring something like this, Brittney. My father and brother both have and had bikes and I have been on before so it's definitely a big interest for me as well. Thanks so much for working hard to make this work!!
Thanks for watching all the failed attempts lol!

Well hopefully this time wasn't a fail!

Excellent ride I bet it's a real gas good luck to you keep on going
Cool!
think we need to make Bob a better bottle holder for his bike. lol
Yeah lol and for his wheelchair!
I finally gathered that it's the bottle of beer that balances him out! Lol lol Now he put it down...he gonna fall out the chair! Lol lol
lol we'll do another video without a beer and see if he falls out of his chair haha!
