John Whittaker and Ryan's Son were unbeatable! Beautifully understated man whose show jumping made my youth a beautiful place to be. Many hours spent watching Show jumping on TV and Wembley/Olympia Stadium.

Met him at Hickstead, he saw me smoking and said aye you gotta light please, I gave him my lighter and said you can keep it, taa he said..
