Hii Bro,, I saw ur video n made my mind to import “ford mustang” to india,, when I did bit ground work about import & custom duty’s,,, used car has 125% of import duty where 60% for new car, on top of it Landing charges 1%, Countervailing Duty rate is 30% + Countervailing Duty rate is INR20000.00, Cess rate 3%, Additional Countervailing Duty rate is 4%, Infrastructure cess 4%, Education cess 2%, secondary and Higher education cess 1%, National calamity contingent duty 1%, Cess .125, Abatement Details 30%,
Overall 223.381% + on top of it RTO registration charges, also car shouldn’t exceed 3000cc,, that means for 10 lakh rupees car we have to pay 10,00000+23,38100=3338100 + 1,50,000 RTO + 41000 Insurance, Total “35,29,100-INR”
My confusion is do Copart pay the import duty’s??

1. The Indian government allows people to bring back vehicles they have owned overseas for a period of at least one year and will tax accordingly. Your vehicle must be compliant with Indian regulations meaning your steering wheel will need to be on the right as opposed to the left as in dubai. It's a bit of an expensive job.
2. Repair cost included, you'll end up paying taxes layered one over the other to where it made more sense to just buy locally.
3. Fuel consumption is through roof.
4. Engine wears out quickly and parts are expensive.
5. Pretty poor handling overall with limited view from the drivers seat. Looks excellent but is just not meant for the street.
The mustang was built for one thing, racing. Whether on the strip or in Nascar. They are made with racing in mind and just adapted to being road legal.
