I am astounded at how the original artists managed to paint such tiny designs with only the medieval tools they had and we can't get that same level of smallness and detail.

Right?! I just can’t get over it. Making a large scale version of the designs was mind-boggling enough; I can’t imagine not just coming up with the original designs but drawing them so so so tiny!
