    Just finished Mr. T's last day, still crying. Algorithm suggests this, and I realize I've not seen this--algorithm does something right for once. God put you and Mr. T together for a reason. No better place for Mr. T to spend his life at than with you, Rick.

    HERE IS THE SHIT THAT PISSED ME OFF: here is a comment to me.
    Alex Wyman
    Hi Rick,
    We were scammed into buying two halter broke horses that were supposed to be ridable but aren't ...by a lot
    We don't have the money to keep them and they're on kjiji and nobody wants these two mares
    We don't know what we can do because the slaughter house is our absolute very last option
    We tried one trainer who ran away with our money and did nothing so we gave up on that because they are already a $4,000 cut in our pockets:(
    What can we do??
    Help?
    MY ANSWER:
    You were scammed, you were a fool that went out make a uneducated decision, wanted something, did not do any research, did not confirm anything you were told and so you did FELT good at the time and NOW two horses have to pay with their lives because of your ignorance. It is idiots like you that KEEP kill buying in business and results in thousands of horses being uselessly killed every month. And you the nerve to come crying to me for help.
    And IDIOTS LIKE YOU always want to cry about slaughter being their last hope, fuck you, you took the horse, you mistake, take responsibility and stop blaming others, if you kill the horses you only confirm that you are the piece of shit I think you are from your stupid comment.

      What happened to checking the horses out before the purchase? Did they not go look at and test ride the horses first? Ive never bought a horse without riding it first and making sure its what im looking for. Never believe what a seller says, unless you've seen it for yourself. No matter what kind of horse you end up with slaughter is never ever ok or an option!

      Dodie Colette I have a friend who rode a horse for 1 hour before buying it. Took it home and got on a week later and got bucked off, soon after a friend got on and also got bucked (twice). Now I'm gonna adopt it and work with it till I can ride it.
      So yeah there are some exeptions 😜

    • @dodiecolette2289
      @dodiecolette2289 Před 9 lety +29

      Josiah Igescu Not saying I know for sure, but that horse was probably drugged when your friend went to ride it(unfortunately that calming paste is readily available and some people are dumb enough to use it). Same thing happened to me when I was a kid ... went and test rode a horse he was fine seemed a little lazy, got him home and a week later tried saddling him and he freaked out like a wild horse that had never been touched. Anyway I kept him and started him on ground work .. took me quite a while to be able to ride him, I had never broke a horse before that. Lol I learned a lot from that horse. But I think its great your going to take the horse in and work with it... best of luck to you.😊

      Rick, I was at my aunts house a few years ago, and found out the neighbor moved ( RENTER) and left an old horse behind. I started bringing him water, and gave him some apples. Anyway my aunt called her daughter that has a small ranch, and they found the owner. The old guy wouldn't give him away, and sold it for $100. I was pissed, because the dumb-ass didn't have anyway to keep it! I'm just glad he has a place with other horses to live out the rest of his years!

      I have watched so many videos of Rick and Mr. T interacting, and I have to say that Mr. T and Rick have one of the most beautiful, trust-based horse-human relationships I have ever seen. Mr. T was a wild mustang, and he had a he!! of a tough life before Rick got him. Rick trained him with incredible patience and respect and love, and Mr. T returns that respect and love with abundance. Of course his instincts are about 10 million times sharper than Buddy's, and he is losing his sight. Imagine that Mr. T was chased down by a helicopter as a young wild mustang, then was never trained or shown love by humans, gelded with no vet or anesthesia, and abused and marked for slaughter, before Rick got him when Mr. T was ten. Look at how beautiful he is now -- he is loved and truly happy. It is a beautiful story for a horse like Mr. T who would have been slaughtered if not for Rick.

    63" would be 15.3 hands, and 62 1/2" would be a little under 15.3 hands. Good sized horses!
    By the way, it ALWAYS pisses me off when a horsey know-it-all makes fun of how a horsey newbie measures height. Expressed in a normal mathematical integer, 15 and one half would look like: 15.5. Someone rights that number down, and every barn witch within flying distance jumps all over them because that number "can't exist."
    It most certainly DOES exist. You can explain about "hand" measurements in a much nicer way, people.

      I figured there has to be some website or calculator download extension to convert Inches to hands. Or at least go to the start menu and use the regular calc accessory that can do long division and stuff.
      My guess is that before we had those fancy metal retractable tape measurer things, people measured horses with their hands. You know, like feet and cubits?
      Who was the guy with a 12" foot, anyway? LOL

    • @janetgriffiths7200
      @janetgriffiths7200 Před 7 lety +8

      My horse was 74 inches, or 18.2 hands, or 6 feet 2 inches at the withers. That was with no shoes (never was shod), and newly trimmed hooves. The vet had a measuring stick ruled in hands, and he measured him. He was 16.1 hands at 10 months when I bought him. I told him to quit growing when he hit 17.2, but he didn't listen. Anyone who rode him had to use a mounting block.

    I am at the moment dealing with one of these idiotic selfish people but this time I am fighting back. I had a person surrender a horse to me to only return to me 10 months later asking for it back now this has happened to me a few times which I found odd it wasn't until I had a close friend tell me that these idiots are making a fool out of me by supposedly giving me a horse to only return sometime later to ask for the horse back which they end up with a broken in well-trained riding fit and ready horse.
    This time I said I can't because I have a) given the horse to someone else and b) I have spent a lot of money on this horse. I then received a request in writing from a Solicitors firm for the return of the horse I have written back telling the solicitors I will give the horse back when I have been reimbursed for all my costs incurred so far (including the cost for this sale appraisal I charge a firm $5000 for this alone) (insert snicker) I have provided a bill for all the food, vet and lodging fee's and I then doubled it for all the training I have done *snicker* this jerk is not going to get a cheaply well-trained horse from me nope its going to cost him a lot of money which he won't pay because again MY horse aint for sale! Wish me luck people.

    Buddy is 15.75 hands, 15 years old at this writing (2019). Tanner is 15.63 hands and 27 years old. They are both beautiful.
    Thanks so much for sharing the information. I can safely say that most of us love your horses. Especially when buddy (Mr. Hollywood) walks in front of the camera when you are trying to show something with Mr. T. I personally love when Buddy nods his head when you are talking to him, as if in agreement to what you say. Also, thank you for sharing you horse knowledge with us. I have learned so much!

    Hello. Just found your channel. Enjoy it. Did you notice the look Buddy gave the horse and you when you did not know his Birthday or age? I had to rewind and watch again. Horses to me are smart. He looks like he was saying to the other horse, "You mean he doesn't know and no wonder we don't get a party --carrot cake, flowers etc; "
    Now I will watch the rest of it. Too funny to me. I can tell your horses are loved and handled well.

    That would make them both about 16 hands. Thanks for the explanation on how you acquired them and especially Mr. T and the rough life he had. It makes me happy that he was able to live out the rest of his days with you and your compassion and love 💕

    Mt. T is a happy horse, you can see it, and he's so well trained. With everything he went through! It says a lot about you as a person and a horseman. I hope you keep making lots of videos cause I'm watching them all. I've learned a lot already.

    Watching this to catch up on the story of Mr. T. I believe when you saved him, he gave you back twice as much love. This sounds silly maybe but when you love them that much.....they will see you again at the Rainbow Bridge when you are ready. Silly I know, but I hope to see mine there when I’m ready. ❤️❤️❤️
