    As a Solis Pocket 36A owner and frequent solo traveler, I gotta say that I still prefer the A-floor plan's murphy bed and dinette set up. However, I think this is a great additional floor plan option for folks who are really freaked out about the lack of separate bathroom in the A. I also applaud the addition of an onboard hot-water heater. Most of all - thank you for fixing the propane tank holding mechanism! I wish that could be adjusted or updated on my A, as the seatbelt style strap is not sufficient to keep the tank solidly in place, especially once it's no longer full. Roads are just too bumpy everywhere, and I am not even talking about off-roading. Overall, this new floor plan looks great, and I am sure new customers will have some difficulty choosing between Pocket A&B. Great job listening to customer feedback, Winnebago! 🙌

      @Patrick_Ross Před rokem +9

      If the A doesn’t have a toilet, it would be a no-brainer for me to choose the B. I wouldn’t be “freaked out” about not having a toilet but using the bathroom is, after all, one of life’s necessities! Maybe you’ll understand when you get to be a geezer like me!😁

    • @Rashnak66
      @Rashnak66 Před rokem +5

      agree with the other comment- no toilet is no-option for many people. Even this model the toilet seems hard to empty as there is no cassette that can be rolled into a pit toilet. I also don't see how this toilet gets water for a flush.... do you use the showerhead?

    • @SS-Schatzi
      @SS-Schatzi Před rokem +7

      @@Patrick_RossOh but the A does have a toilet - it's a porta potti/ cassette toilet that's stowed under the front dinette seat. It totally does the trick for me, and I am already geezer-ish myself!

    • @Patrick_Ross
      @Patrick_Ross Před rokem +3

      @@SS-Schatzi - didn’t know that….thanks! Other comments indicated no toilet.

    • @SS-Schatzi
      @SS-Schatzi Před rokem +5

      @@Patrick_RossYeah, that’s why I mentioned no “separate” bathroom in my initial comment, which the A doesn’t have but it does have a toilet, and an outdoor shower in the back (which I have really only used a couple of times to wash my dog off after a beach day). The porta potti in the A is a good useable size without being insanely heavy when the cassette is full. I can basically walk into any public bathroom (in parks, at the beach, etc) and empty it, no splashing, no mess, no looking for an RV dump station - easy peasy. Looks like the toilet in this Pocket 36B is also a cassette type toilet (i.e. no black tank on the van), but a bit larger, so there’s that re extra weight when full. But it should still be ok to handle for most, methinks. Anyway, that’s it from me about all things Pocket potti! 😊

    As it is; this van punches well above its weight! However, I would suggest a few changes.
    1. Loose a cabinet and add a Microwave. 2. Loose the gas cooktop and add a non-built-in induction cooktop [Winnebago Revel]. It can be stored in a Solis Pack and mounted via molly panel on the wall in the galley. 3. AC outlet on the backsplash at the counter. 4. Undermount sink with an countertop material insert, creating one long countertop when placed over the sink. 4. A TV mount hung under the microwave shelf; since there won't be a cabinet there anymore. 5. Mechanical Awning. 6. One outside outlet on the camp side. For cooking outside with the induction cooktop. 7. Outside Propane quick connector for gas grills. 8. Ecoflow system should have auto-start if it doesn't already. I would call this option package the "Cake And Eat It Too" package. 😁

      @@SychJessHi there - wow, that surprises me. I’ve owned my Pocket 36A for a year and half now, put 25K miles on it and I don’t have any of those issues. I guess it all depends what the “story” was at the assembly line during the production cycle? I’ve actually been very impressed with mine, I have had zero issues, fingers crossed let’s hope I don’t jinx it! Anyway, hope you can still get to enjoy your Pocket, though! 😊

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 Před rokem +4

      @@SS-Schatzi There shouldn't be any "story at the assembly line" as their Quality Control Dept. (IF thy even have one) should BE SURE no "crap-built" products leave the factory. They don't. For YEARS now, Winnebago's quality has been (still is) considered "average" and average in the RV industry = POOR. Why?
      Winnebago need to call Pleasure-Way (P-W) -- or one of the other "above average" (at least) Canadian RV makers -- and find out how to build a QUALITY RV -- and offering a warranty like P-W's would be great, too. Frankly, I don't care how nice a RV looks on the surface, to me how it's built (fit & finish/materials used) is WAY more important. Winnebago's "bar" is set pretty low.
      As for Thor, which (sadly) owns Airstream, they also have nice designs (their small Class A is a great concept) but their reputation for poorly-built RVs is legendary -- I'd rather buy a Winnebago. But really, would prefer something Canadian as it seems the Canadian RV makers care more about quality than American makers do.

    I just don't understand why a lot of van builders are opting to remove the black tank and put in a porta potty solution. The cassette or porta-potty toilet is gross to empty and you already have a gray tank that I need to empty. Give us a real toilet! It is always easier to dump rather than drag my toilet to the somewhere and empty it like a bucket .... I have a 2018 Travato with a black tank and it is perfect

    with the bed made up for more than one person you cannot get to the bathroom, making it pretty useless, plus you no longer have a separate dining area. Other than for one person, does not seem very practical. Also hope there is ventilation in the floor under the “indoor” propane tank in case of leaks, otherwise very dangerous. May be okay for one person.

  • @Jeanettedi

  • @eavi1653

    Perfect except you blew it with the toilet. Instead of a cheap, plastic porta potty, you should have included a proper cassette toilet. It seems that Winnebago struggles to figure out what Europe has already solved in these small vans. Even Van builders know how to provide a proper toilet.

      Supply and demand. The b vans are so easy to park and get around town. You don't even need a special license to drive them, therefore most people perfer the b vans.

    The floor plan is great. The build quality is horrible. I am an owner of a 2003 Winnebago Adventurer 33v. I thought to downsize to Solis Pocket but was appalled by the plasticy look and feel of cabinets, etc. ... and for the price tag. No go for me. I will either spend a bit to upgrade my motorhome or buy a quality self-build. This not unique to Winnebago. I looked at other Class B rigs .. uggg!
