I think Nirvana and Pearl Jam hit it off really well. They were both great bands with great musicians. They are two bands I admire a lot and I listen to a lot. I hope Pearl Jam still goes on and I'm sad that Kurt Cobain is no longer with us. I miss Nirvana.
When you grow up you will realize Alice In Chains was the best grunge band of the era and Layne Staley voice was like Eddie and Kurt on steroids.
@@shasmi93 Young man you're wrong about my age. You should be think that I'm still a little girl. Listen, I was born six years after (1976) the Queen band was founded and at that time I had already heard them since I was born on the radio. All young people from that time until the 90s only listened to Rock. And yes, I grew up with Nirvana and Pearl Jam. At the time I was just a teenager. I spent my entire childhood and youth listening to Rock like those of my generation, so I know what I'm talking about. And by the way, what was the band that never got into drugs? And it wasn't just Rock's Bands. In fact, I also like Alice in Chains and it's not very different from the other two because it's part of the same style - Rock/Grunge. Now I'm the one who says that when you grow up a little more, you'll realize the quality of music that was heard at that time, and that there were many Grunge and Rock bands that you know were founded precisely at a time when you weren't even born yet or were still a little boy. I advise you to hear more about this style and get to know it better.

Kurt hated the fact that Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains started off as Glam/Hair bands, the genre that Kurt despised. And when grunge became popular, those two bands started wearing flannel and became grunge.
neither of those bands started as glam hair bands
@@AlecCommentstheInternet Actually they did, well at least Alice in Chains did. Alice in Chains started off as Alice N' Chains as a hair band in the mid to late 80s with Layne Staley as vocals. As for Pearl Jam, Kurt thought they were too corporate to add any value to the grunge scene
"
“Those bands have been in the hairspray/cockrock scene for years and all of a sudden they stop washing their hair and start wearing flannel shirts. It doesn’t make any sense to me. Kurt mainly just didn't like how his band was being lumped in together with other bands like Eddie's which were actually very different from one another, due to the corporate slapping the label "grunge" on four bands to sell products. so this was his way of trying to distance himself from that association musically, not an attack personally at the other band members (at least this was never how I interpreted it)

So much of this has to do with Mark Arm telling Kurt Cobain about things Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament did or the way they were in Green River. He, like many others, thought they were careerists and were sellouts to their own sound looking to get record deals. Jeff Ament introduced himself to Kurt Cobain and he laughed him off and Ament said, " he wasn't having it." It was all over "selling out" It's in the book Everybody Loves Our Town by Mark Yarm. Eddie paid tribute to Kurt at the time, which shows that he had no enmity.
From what I've gathered, Kurt's problem was that all of these hair-glam metal bands started wearing flannel, stopped washing their hair, make their music sound "grungy", then started acting like they were Washington born-and-raised.
There's truth to it:
*PJ was comprised of Vedder (San Diego surfer who sure did a lot of interviews he seemed to hate doing), Stone and Ament (who were focused on "making it"; caused the breakup of Green River and were in MotherLoveBone, who was a pseudo-glam band).
*Alice in Chains was initially a glam band, formed from other glam bands, who were put together when, as drummer Sean Kinney put in the VH1 doc, "they took sorta-ok looking boys who could play, dressed us up in flannel ... 'the statue's up and the story is told!'"
