      I tried implants twice and it got rejected, because I had bone issues. So I went for the bridge, did it a few days ago. It was weird in the first days, because I felt my teeth that got trimmed for the procedure. But after 5 days I'm used to it, and its looking really beautiful, never had a smile this good.

      Implants is the best alternative because you don’t need to encroach the adjacent teeth, it’s anchored to your jawbone which can preserve your bone structure, it’s designed to be aesthetically pleasing and reliable at the same time. BUT, it has complications. The cost is a thing you have to take into consideration, an implant is way more expensive than the bridge, then your body could potentially reject the implant though it depends on each individual’s situation, once implanting, it could potentially hit neighboring structures like the maxillary sinus (When you’re implanting the maxillary posterior region) and it could also hit your nerves there in your lower jaw (When implanting the mandibular posterior region) and this can lead to more procedures. If you manage to surpass these, good for you. In conclusion, an implant is better than a bridge, it has a higher success rate of 97% and it has a 3% failure rate. A bridge however has a 50% success rate and a 50% failure rate.

    Hello , I recently had a 3 unit
    bridge on lower incissors , I was missing one congentially . My dentist did root canals on my two abutment teeths which were perfectly fine(without any cavity) before cutting them and installing bridge . But I am reading online that it's not compulsary to do . So I am wondering why did he did that , Are there some advantages of it if we do the RCT before ? or did he just do it to make some money ? I am really feeling bad knowing I have destroyed my other fine teeths as well. Would RCT treated teeth cause problem in future ?

    This video shows bone atrophy/receding in the bone tissue above the middle, free floating tooth. Causing issues for the adjacent implants later on. My oral surgeon assured me that the implants on either side of this tooth would keep stimulating bone growth above the middle tooth in my implant bridge. And bone atrophy will not occur. That's what makes these bone atrophy graphics presentations on CZcams so confusing. Why the diff here and not in my dental surgeon's office? Anyway, I will be having this exact implant procedure done in several months after a bone graph a few days after this posting. We'll see in one year, I guess.

    Ok, so I just got an estimate for 4 implants with no bone grafts necessary including restoration of the crowns after six months , whatever that means. I assume it means adjustments as needed or I guess it could mean that is when temp crowns come off and permanent ones are installed. Either way , the cost for 4 implants including post, abutment, and crown without bone grafts was around 24,000.
    I rarely see pricing and I think people need at least a ballpark figure.
    One dentist said I need a bone graft and one said I did not, I think it is worth getting two opinions as a bone graft is the cost of one implant so very important ti pay a small consult fee to avoid 1000’s for a bone graft that you may not need, not to mention healing time needed from bone graft which is 3-6 months , then there is a risk of it not even working.

    Basically, The implant is less risky, but more expensive while the bridge is cheaper, but less effective and the cost could eventually exceed that of an implant. There is also the problem that bridges can sometimes involve healthy tooths, which worsen over time whenever a new bridge is required. I always felt off with the idea of bridges and it took me over 7 months to finally save enough to get my two implants.
    Edit: My tooths were measured, and it was set to another business to create the tools specific to my implant, I paid all costs, and the dentist told me that they will call me once they arrive so he can implant them. They called me once it arrived and asked me to pay for "continuation fees for $500" which was not mentioned before, and made nonsense. I can't find information about a "continuation fee" related to dentists on all sites I have searched. And I truly don't trust the dentist to tell me the truth.

    Dentists always recommends fixed bridge over dental implant coz they know that you will be surely go back to them to refix the bridge. Fixed bridge has more disadvantage than dental implant. the gums tends to pull back due to bone lost after tooth extraction and it will make a gap between the false teeth and the gum itself. For me dental implant way too expensive but more practical than bridge coz its permanent and you will only do it once. but again, not all can be a candidate for dental implant. In order to have a dental implant, you must have a healthy and strong bones to support the screw and the false teeth. If you have unhealthy gums, it must be treated first and realigned to have a perfect fit of the dental implant tooth.

    • @katrinesafin2419
      @katrinesafin2419 Před 4 lety +22

      An implant is not permanent and you can have bone loss around an implant as well and then you will see the fixture/implant and even the screw threads sometimes and it looks really ugly from aesthetical point. This video doesn't show the problems you can have with an implant. Remember that en implant i static and doesn't have the spring system like a real tooth in your bone and the most common thing with a crown or a bridge on implant is fracture because of that and needs to be repaired (expensive) at some point. Compare it to a car, if you drive a car without a spring system and hit a bump the car is going to hit the ground very hard compared with a car with spring system. When you chew and bite the mouth/jaw hits with a big force, that's why you have a spring system in your real teeth so they don't fracture. In implants you don't have that. If you care about the teeth holding the crown or bridge it can stay there for a very long time. A had a patient 86 years old a couple of years ago and he got his bridge (gold/acryllic) when he was 40 something and still had the same bridge (the acryllic damaged at some places in the back - didn't bother him) but teeth still intact and no infections over the years. But also remember that gold has another surface structure than for example cobolt/chrome and the gold surface tends to keep clean if the patient is caring about his oral health. This video doesn't show the different complications you can have with an implant.

      Some people aren’t candidates for the implants as I found out. After breaking my jaw three years ago, two dead front teeth, then root canals but the teeth still got infected due to the trauma from the broken jaw, etc. I went to two different dentists and an endodontist and they told me I don’t have enough jaw bone that’s strong enough to take the implants. I did the bone graft and now just praying for that to heal and see what they say in the next 5 months.

      @@r.s.1597 unfortunately, I’m dealing with that right now. I had to have an emergency root canal through the bridge recently because of a severe toothache, and now I have an appointment set up for implant consultation. I refuse to lose my front teeth and I feel this bridge is failing , most likely wasn’t installed properly because I am diligent about cleaning with super floss, water pic etc.
      I’ve only had this third bridge for 2 years, and I know the quality of the bridge is made of the finest material that is used, because my ex owns a dental lab and he made it for me. Go to a very reputable dentist . The one I used for this past bridge was not good at all. On a positive note a bridge can be a good temporary fix .
