I find it funny how both Xefros and Aradia's theme's are chill af. Rustblood theme type, i guess?

As a person who had to study music in various aspects during school, This music gives me some insight on how the character associated with it feels about himself. The deep tone it has kind of portrays that Xefros feels like he's at rock bottom. That he's worthless. This of course is stated in the game, but the music helps to set that kind of mindset when you play as Xefros and are sort of seeing things the way he sees things. He sees everything in his hive and how it's the basics of what he is allowed to have. It's ordinary things that reflect that he's on the bottom. However, in the game room, the song is more upbeat and it's filled with the things he likes. Hence the name of the title in that room: Sports! Personally, I like them. He likes the stuff in that room, so he feels happier and the music reflects that. Even how he was raised by a sloth is reflected by this music: its slow paced, kinda depressing given the fact that he was raised to feel like nothing. But it also gives the listener a sense of wanting to do things. Wanting to be more, just like Xefros. The slightly faster guitar in it helps portray that he wants to be so much more, but everything else being slow is symbolic of how society and his upbringing are holding him back. But that's just my opinion.

Ren Does Cosplay This also sounds really similar to Karkat's theme, and Karkat's leitmotif can be found in other songs in the Hiveswap soundtrack (of course, in Homestuck too) all they did was slow it down and made some adjustments in pitch

Legit xefros is a surprisingly cool guy
tho he is kinda different and is less stuttery and insecure than Tavros. Or, he is, but he is better at hiding it.
nah i think the difference is tavros is outright bullied whereas xefros is just abused by his moirail in a slow less noticeable manner, creates 2 entirely different people. plus xef clearly has a heart of fucking gold while tavros seemed mostly beaten into submission
This song feels military in style, akin to the hymn of a miner or a factory worker. Just like with Xefros, their dull life and small, nihilistic outlook on existence eats away at their self-worth, until they truly think they are trash. Then, like Xefros, they find someone to look up to, someone to please, a reason to exist, for they haven't found one in themselves. This aspect of idolizing a superior embodies itself, for Xefros, in Tetrarch Dammek. He is the reason Xefros is happy, his made-up reason to keep existing, to please him. Xefros, like a miner or factory worker, is at the bottom of social standings, a mere rustblood. This, along with many other things, leads him to believe he is, in every aspect, worthless. Dammek is somebody Xefros wants to make happy, so he can add one thing to the short list of things he likes about himself. Every single thing I have mentioned is embodied in this song. Good on you, Toby Fox! Your music is awesome!

rustblood: feels like you're being yelled at. like xefros. (there's a comment in here that goes into great detail about this song, and how it reflects xefros's character. go read it!!) that little bit that's soft and hopeful reminds you that the character you're playing still has hope. it's just a little bit, but it's still there. 9/10, intimidating and sad, but a great track nonetheless.

At first, I found Xefros to be a tad insufferable, but realized it's because I'm kind of the same way, overly apologetic, oblivious, downplays his troubles/issues, feeling like he's hit rock bottom, feeling worthless/useless.. etc. I'm like that as well. He slowly became my favourite character, meanwhile, Dammek became my least favourite, despite not having any screen time (technically). Like, I rarely feel annoyed towards a character I relate to heavily, but I guess it's because it hits too close to home for me? I was raised in an abusive household, basically taught how I am nothing/worthless to my family, and that I'm a major disappointment to them. Getting constantly beaten up by my own family (mostly my brother and father) and my father telling me how he was better than I am, that he was able to do more things than me.. etc. he'd constantly one-up me and would mock me when I try to express the possibility as to why I am slow at things (depression).. Like, to keep from going on, basically, I was raised in a horrible household and I always wanted to do more with my life but my family kept shoving me more and more into the ground, making me feel like that I am not meant for anything decent or good in my life. I moved away back in 2017, and while my situation still isn't a lot better, my boyfriend makes my life much better just by being with me. We live in a shitty house in the middle of nowhere with barely any money, but we'll find some way to move out and live a better life one day, hopefully.
