I've been traveling for work for years. I always try the food in the area I am working and found Zaxbys in one of my trips to the south. Now my family seeks out Zaxbys every where we travel to. The buttered grilled buns and their chicken is sooo good. Glad to see they ranked #1 on your list.

Well he did say fast food chicken sandwiches not specifically chicken restaurants. My question is why did he get the McChicken and the original chicken sandwiches instead of the buttermilk chicken sandwich and the tendercrisp chicken sandwich which are more comparable to Zaxby's and CFA, though I do think bojangles and kfc would be better stand ins for hardee's and Arby's since then almost all of the chicken would be full pieces instead of processed breaded patties.
Bojangles and Popeye's are both good. Both have a bit too high a breading-to-chicken ratio to beat Chick-Fil-A, but tasty. I've never been big on Zaxby's personally, it's good but I wouldn't call it the best.
But... Chick-Fil-A deluxe comes with lettuce cheese and tomato (spicy has pepper jack cheese and on the original it has American cheese) ;-; -your friendly Chick-Fil-A employee
So the two places that specialise in chicken are better than the places that just have a random chicken burger to round out options. That's actually quite comforting.
So true! My husband and I disagree over which is better. I like Chic-fil-a and he likes Zaxby's. I've never had dry Chic-fil-a, and I've had it all up and down the east coast. But I've only had Zaxby's here in Virginia, and it was not that great. It was dry, too salty, and the sauce was just meh. My husband had it in Florida first, though, so I wonder if there is a difference regionally.
The only time I've tried Zaxby's was in Okeechobee FL and the chicken was greasy and forgettable and it wasn't even on a bun they served it on white bread

Chick-Fil-A does have a really great basic sandwich...it's usually my go-to though their basic chicken salad sandwich is really good, too. I tend to alternate between the two, and when I was a kid the chicken salad sandwich was my A#1. When I got my tonsils out and could only have ice cream for awhile, the next real meal I dreamed of was a Chick-Fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich...and I was one happy kid when I finally got to have my next one post-op.
Definitely need a revisit on this one. The McChicken you used from McD's is not in the same category as the other chicken sandwiches - it's the cheap sandwich they have. McD's has a Chick-Fil-A knock-off with pickles, and that should be the competitor here. Burger king - same thing.
