And I’m encouraged to digitize my 1992-2001 8mm & VHS, and then to retrace the same steps next time I’m in Japan. That’s really a great idea. Thank you for that. was this recorded with the TR303 you refurbished some months back? I'm shocked at how steady the video seems, does this handycam have steady shot like the TR805/TR101 does? also, cool video!! This makes me want to go to Japan even more and record my footage with my Japanese VX1 Hi8
Hello! I recorded this with a CCD-TR805E with SteadyShot. The video of fixing the unit has not been edited and uploaded yet. When you go to Japan the next time, make sure to pass by Akihabara Electric Town and buy some new Hi8 tapes for cheap. :)
@@derkito6249 Will do. And I hate to say I haven't been to Japan even once, I was planning on going but then I had to cancel due to covid to cut a long story short. But ill make sure to go to Akihabara. One quick question, why's the video just have mono sound instead of stereo? Not saying that to be rude btw, I just wondered was all. And I ask bc I know the TR805 is a stereo camcorder.
@@CycloneCordVHS Oh my! I didn't even notice! It is indeed a stereo camcorder. But after checking, I set OBS (which I use for converting the video from analog to digital) to Mono and didn't change it back. 😭
@@derkito6249 yea that kinda thing happens sometimes...as an audiophile, it'd be cool to hear the stereo version in the future....another thing about the TR805 was that its Hi8. I get it if a regular 8mm tape was used at the time...since the video is plain 8mm, thats another thing that made me think this tape was recorded on TR303.
