  • After 5 years of ownership, Scooter Pops reviews his 2016 BMW C650 GT offering opinions along with information about the maxi scooter. He shares his likes and dislikes providing a comprehensive rating on the bike's stats, specs, structure, and dynamics. If you're seriously interested in taking the plunge into purchasing a maxi scooter than you must take into consideration engine size & power, bike weight/height, durability, comfort, and long term ramifications. There would be nothing more frustrating than spending anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 on a machine only to find out you were talked into something that's not a good fit, It would sadly become a conversation piece as it collects dust in the garage rather than opening up a new area of freedom! So....sit back, relax, take the 10 minutes to find out about the C650 GT.

the local beemer shop(45 miles away) has a 2019 on the used floor. I was allowed to test drive it. Very impressed and liked the performance very much. What turned me off was the maintenance costs for this scooter. Oil changes I can handle but the cvt belt was crazy expensive....great video, very informative.

Looks like a great bike! (I really like the idea of heated seats!) You did an awesome job of describing all the attributes of the bike, along with things you're not so crazy about. It should be very helpful to someone trying to decide whether to purchase one.

Hi Marti! Thank you! That means a lot to me. It's tough to know what people are looking for in a bike/scooter. I'm glad you enjoyed this video! Have a blessed day!

Very good video! I bought a 2015 BMW C650GT, 3000 miles, I love it. Thank you for the information. I did not know you could turn in the mirrors, which is needed in the garage. Also, I have belt slap on my bike, and plan to have it replaced, but didn't know about the Kevlar belts (I will ensure to replace it with a kevlar now). Last question, Scooter Pops, going with lighter rollers, how does it affect the performance? Loving the videos, please keep posting scooter info. I'm now a SUBSCRIBER.

Congrats! It's a great bike! Thank you Gregory for subscribing and the kind words! The lightweight rollers don't affect performance, they're said to last longer. Ride safe!

Hi, Thank you so much for your review. What do you think about getting one of these as a first bike? I am just worried its a bit heavy and powerful for a first bike. Thank you in advance

The C650 GT is probably too much power for a first bike. I would lean more toward a 250-300CC. You can still get on the freeway with those bikes but they're a little more manageable. I would also recommend taking the MSF course in your area. You can learn how to ride from the beginning even if you've never ridden. Best Wishes, hope that helps! Scooter Pops
