9 years later, I made this origami again, from the same tutorial. This time, I made it even better
You have great tutorials, Sara
Thanks, Sara, for doing this tutorial. I'd seen this video often on your channel, but it is only recently that I gave it a try. It is a beautiful model. Also, I really appreciate the folding advice. It has made other models much easier to fold, i.e., setting the creases in the direction they are meant to go, rather than pre-folding. Thanks again.
This was an excellent video. I especially liked the helpful tips, such as scoring some of the folds for crisper diagonal folds, and leaving a slight gap in the beginning fold. I also liked your finishing technique that resulted in a very polished “end” of the shell. Your instructions throughout the video were clear and easy to understand. I have made this shell using other’s videos, but yours is the best! I framed my shells in shadow boxes--beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to post this. An absolute delight; at last I can fold it with your direction.
Even when I know how to fold a model already, I always come back to your videos because your instructions make folding much more enjoyable.
Thank you for such excellent tutorials. Love the way you explain steps and give tips. I am only just starting origami, and find that your tutorials are very clear and understandable. Thank you again.
so many nuggets of good foundational folding techniques in your tutorials, thank you!!
"Controlled imprecision" That's a very good way of describing what I've been trying to achieve. Sometimes that little bit of controlled imprecise space makes all the difference :-)
I loved it. Thank you. I actually enjoyed the folding. The shell turned beautiful although it was my first time trying it.
Dear Sara, your explanation is soooo clear ,even an amateur can do easily. I did it and the feeling was amazing.. thanks for making the models look very easy and making me HAPPY! thanks a lot..
I'm really happy to hear you found my tutorial easy to follow and especially that it made you happy. :)
Managed to do it. Absolutely superb. Thanks so much Sara. My Mum loves the elegance of the logarithmic spiral of Nautilus shells, so I'll make her another in nice paper as a surprise. :)
Getting the spiral started was difficult, but this really turned out beautiful. Thank you for the tutorial!
I made a second one in black and another in gold foil. I think this is now my favorite thing to make!
I'm glad to hear you like the model so much. I must agree, it's a beautiful one!
you do the best tutorials ever I like how you mark where you did the fold keep it up
This model works nicely with most papers. The furry paper I used in the model shown in the photograph is also from origami-shop (fur tissue paper). However, as mentioned in the video, it's a bit more difficult to fold with. I think the result is worth it, though. :)
Can’t stop making these!!!! Thank you loads
Eres muy generosa al compartir tu arte, te estoy siguiendo y disfrutando el rehacer los modelos que publicas. Gracias Sara.
Great tutorial! This is the first non-standard origami I've made and it came out perfectly. No trouble understanding. Thank you :)
Thank you very much Sara, I made the shell. The tutorial is really well done!
Hm, I'll see what I can do. I do know which models I'll be doing videos on for the next couple of months, although I'm not 100% certain on the order yet. We'll see! But I'm travelling the next 1.5 weeks, so don't expect anything all too soon in any case!
the seams of your video are almost unnoticeable, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me at first.
The22g haha
Finished it! Fist time I do something as complex as this. Thanks a lot for this video!
Got it on the first try! Yes! Scoring the paper makes it so much easier!! This technique should help when folding the Spring into Action Model. Thank you!
Thanks sara, I couldn't have asked for a better tutorial! I will post a video soon!
"make STRONG creases, use nails to make STRONG creases, you'll do yourself a favor if you keep STRONG creases". the result: torn paper. but I made it the same, your tutorials are great, and very clear explained.
Fingernails, not hardware nails. 🤪😀
Thanks so much for making this video, I don't feel I can afford a copy of the book at the moment but I'm really pleased to have a good video to still learn the model
I'm glad I could help out!
#myfirst I think this is the first tutorial that I watched and folded. I enjoyed the model so much that I got my own copy of the book Spiral and I also shared the model with my origami group (Origami Mitra, Mumbai) and we had a shell collection at our exhibition in December 2016. This model was one that I had seen at an exhibition elsewhere and had wanted to learn and fold it for a very long time. Thank you very much Sara! :)
Great model and very clear instructions, I've just folded it and it was absolutely fun! Thanks for sharing with us the spiral origami
Very nice. A seahorse with a spiral with a tail like that would be lovely…
Nicely done! Very thorough instructions and easy to perceive.
I'm glad it was helpful!
Just finished one. Awesome directions, as always. I love your tutorials. The tesselations are my favoite. Thank you!!!! Happy Folding!!!
Congrats!
A simple yet beautiful model.
Printer paper will work. As to paper size - my first fold was from a 15cm square (6in), and that worked really well, too.
Thank you, I enjoyed learning how to fold this
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! I cannot wait to fold this model. Thank you so very much for sharing it with us. Such a stunning design. I will have to pick up this book.
Your origamis Is the best AND i love so much yours tutorials
@faris danial You can use pretty much any size square, it will only result in different size model! In this case, your square would ve smaller than a 24cm square, so the resulting model will be smaller too! Just don't use too mall of a paper, because I imagine it would be quite difficult to make the later folds!
Not for now at least. I feel like I've done quite a bit around the book already, so I want to give the book some time to shine for itself. I do want people to buy it, after all. :) Hope you understand.
Vielen Dank, liebe Sara. Ich werde es morgen gleich auch versuchen.
you are definitely my other Godess!!
Master!! i don`t have words... congratulations! thank you!
I'm loving this model so much!
Sara, I have drawn the CP so that I could get the sections where one can insert the color. I will upload it later if its ok
Great tutorial Sara !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to insert the correct video sequence in the seconds that were blacked out. That's not easily possible with the youtube editor. But this is the new video in any case. So the work's done. :) I did lose some comments, but I sent a message to all commenters to let them know this would happen.
Very well explained, much better than the tutorial by the creator himself
thank you very much ! explainations are clear and precise ! I spend a good time doing this beautiful origami ! kiss
1 hour later... I DID IT !!! Thank You!
ILIKED SO MUCH HOW YOU TEACH THANKS A LOT, ‼️🇲🇽
Most paper I either buy at origami conventions or at origami-shop . com
Thanks for the detailed explanations!
I'm glad you found the video helpful!
amazing tutorial! turned out really well!
Thanks again Sara for this tutorial!!
I'm glad you like it!
Just finished mine! Thanks very much!
#cantstop The only thing better than watching this video is folding the model itself! Also, it looks like an average ammonite shell for me. :)
I'm not sure which model you mean.
Amazing!! Thanks for your folding lesson, to help me finish this shell successfully :))
You're welcome!
Merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo et vos conseils.
beautiful model and very detailed video - very well done, thank you!
I had done this cute thing, thank you and God Bless!
very pretty shell
나는 한국인 이다
This sounds stupid but the editing is almost flawless in this video. The stop-go (to place the segmented lines) is a great help. And where is this paper found and what is the material or consistency of the paper? Tysvm! Beautiful Tutorial!
Thanks! I fear I don't have a source for the brown fur paper. It was sold on origami-shop.com back then, but was probably not popular enough, so discontinued.
Thanks a lot for the tutorial!! it was really easy and I love it mine turned out well :)
Great Tutorial
Great Model...I did it...yay..
Thank you so much; your video is just perfect.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Time sure flies. :)
So.... You're 10 yrs old now?
when i got to the end, i couldn't quite figure out what you said to do, so i sort of had to just pack all the rest inside. :D

Can you please make a tutorial on the "Fractal" by Roman Diaz?
Yes! I did it! Thanks!
Great job!
Yes, definitely.
#remake
this was the first model that i tried to make since i started 2014! they say shells are the jewels of the sea!
i will definitely make more of this in a smaller version and i will put them in a bottle!....
Thanks, I've added it to the submissions!
Trop beau !
I'm glad you like it!
Will this work well with printer paper? It's smaller than the paper you used in the video by an inch, so will it make the small folds at the center of the spiral difficult to make? Is printer paper recommended?
thanks for the video!! will try this soon :) so cute
thanks!
great tutorial!
Very good video, and thanks to teach me this grat origami =D
i have a question what do a need to do in 13.28
