Welcome back. guys! Nearly all War2 German coins I have seen were aluminum and called "pfennigs", If you remove the f you can see it is the equivalent of penney. Not so with that 2 Reichsmark silver coin. Unbelievable as it sounds, 1 mark was worth 100 pfennigs. Dave was hitting on all cylinders all day and it was very good of you to include the little girls.

Nice German 2 Reichsmark! We found a 5 Reichsmark that looked exactly the same and we had to look it up too. It was also found at an old school. I'm guessing they were show and tell items that the kids lost.

Paul von Hindenburg on the face of that coin. Probably brought home by a soldier after the war.

The German invasion began on 1 September 1939 in Poland. Paul von Hindenburg is on the coin.
