    What about Rennsport using third-party code when they claimed to build a new physics engine from grounds up?

    • @floding22
      @floding22 Před 5 měsíci +23

      They were using some code from an engine which they paid the licence for. So in the end there wasn't any breach of IP or wrong doing by the devs. No studio builds a game entirely from the ground up so their claims were the usual exaggeration we hear in marketing.

    • @alpha007org
      @alpha007org Před 5 měsíci +38

      @@floding22 While this is true, they were claiming they built their own engine from the beginning. I don't care if they are using some physics engine they bought. But they lied by omission, and that's why people were upset.

    • @steelin666
      @steelin666 Před 5 měsíci +5

      @@floding22 I never said anything about breach. And I wouldn't call that exaggeration, but a straight up lie. But I guess what you're saying is that straight up lies are a standard in marketing nowadays. Still no excuse for me though.

    • @floding22
      @floding22 Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@alpha007org People were only really upset about the prosect of plagerising RF2 and I don't see people really caring much that they started of using isiMotor2 as a base which plenty of games have done and still do.
      I agree that they were being dishonest with the marketing but everyone understands the disconnects between dev teams and the marketing teams in most studio and to take everything said with a grain of salt.
      Hearing something was built "ground up" only for it to be an exaggeration isn't very new or uncommon.

    The first one just a fraction was mentioned. I watched live because of Jenson Button who i supported during F1 and spent alot of time after watching proof replays what was going on. JB spoke about his and his teams behaviour when confronted and he fobbed it off as just a game and didn't care but they were sponsored and major money was at stake. Shameful.

    We are going to run out of investors willing to lose money on pro sim racing. We demand more and more sophistication and complexity in these events. That costs money, but doesn't generate any more viewership than a Mario Kart competition. This when even the friends and family of the featured competitors find something else to do on race day.

    Idk how on earth organizers still haven't figured out the easiest way to make sure no one cheats in a tournament/championship - just make all the participating drivers install and run programs like Ammyy Admin or some other app that shares desktop and admins/stewards can monitor each participant's task manager and background processes. If you don't agree to that, you simply don't take part in the race. It's as simple as that.

    • @aeroflopper

    • @QuantumS1ngularity
      @QuantumS1ngularity Před 4 měsíci +2

      @@aeroflopper In order to run the cheats on a 2nd PC, you have to hook the app to the running game. Same as with a VM. It's a piece of cake tracing all the processes linked to the game. Even a 4th grader knows basics like these. Someone just has to do it. The simple fact is that organizers are simply lazy and all they care about is the ad revenue money from the event. If it doesn't directly bring more money, it's not worth the investment. I mean even in the late 90s and early 2000s Quake 2 tournaments had people monitoring the players.

    Motorsport Games is a company that has a larger amount of ambition than cash on hand. Instead of taking it slow by launching high quality games at a slow pace and build a good reputation, they launched on the stock exchange before even releasing a single in house game, attempted to make games at the same rate of time as AAA rated companies that took decades to achieve, pass off hobby quality games that was beyond saving, have a bunch of morons running the company that I wouldn’t even trust to run a cake stand at a carnival and burn through cash like it was nothing.
    I want Le Mans Ultimate to succeed for the sake of Studio 397 but not for Motorsport Games. When… not if but when MSG claims bankruptcy, hopefully S397 has an out so they don’t get dragged down with the idiots at the head of MSG.

    Tbf, Ronhaar is far a better driver in F1 23 than in F1 22. So does this apply to Opmeer.
    Things between Opmeer and Ronhaar simmered down way before the LAN event. After the SPA PSGL race in which Ronhaar called Opmeer a "f*cking clown" and Opmeer called Ronhaar a "d*ckhead", tensions between both of them reduced.
    By the end of the PSGL season, both follwed to one another again on Twitter (same with Jarno and Alfie).
    And yeah, Jarno was not the only one sceptic about Ronhaar. Rasmussen, Bereznay or Longuet also believed that.
    Therefore, did Ronhaar cheat on F1 22? Maybe, who knows. Does Ronhaar cheat on F1 23? Definitely not.

    This is why I don't bother with online racing its corrupt and full of snowflakes that spit there dummies out iff it's not going there way.
    Cheating is so rife just take any race leaderboards and look at the leaders times there a joke.
    Take rallying for instance some stages they have a time of 00.01 for a 5mile stage I can't evern get off the starting line in that time.. or the people whom spend hrs finding short cuts in the game.. I'm afraid it's ruined by bad sportsmanship spoilt kids bad losers.. so I don't bother I just stick the AI on max put the game on its hardest setting and enjoy my racing...

      I once caught my dad cheating at PGA Golf on the Genesis / Megadrive. He'd worked out that he could take a mulligan in a tournament as long as he hit the reset button before his ball had come to rest. He was deeply ashamed at being caught red handed. I didn't admit to him that the same cheat had allowed me to post a record round in the low 50s.

    No doubt some of the top players can cheat. There is being fast and then there is popular CZcamsr fast. I think it's a mix but definately some are being allowed something on certain games because they are helping to promote the game. The Williams thing I think was blown up too big. They did cheat, but really the game maker had allowed the player to use the strip of tarmac they used, it could be seen as a risky sharp attempt at bending the rules that didn't pay off. Just don't do it again.. More serious are people who like I said are actually manipulating the code to go quicker, corner easier etc..
