ABOUT KEVIN CHAPMAN
I'm a 39 year old CZcamsr from the UK. I've got a cracking beard and I'm currently going through the autism diagnosis process. I started this channel back in 2017 and by the time I left my full-time job as a Computer Science teacher in July of that year, my partner Anna was trapped in our house by our son Andy, who is autistic and had refused to go to school for 18 months. Our daughters Lucy and Amy and our dog Dave hardly saw me because I was always working to try and solve all our problems! Today I'm a full-time content creator and always at home when the kids get home from school (all our kids!) and Anna has been able to return to university. This channel is the story of my ongoing journey! Previously known as lollujo Vlogs and The Chapman Family.

I agree with you kev in terms of not giving in over the weekend with his devices to prevent a new routine emerging. For the sanity of you and Anna (and I guess Andy) I'll keep everything crossed he went to back to school and you don't have to have a weekend with Andy having no devices 🤞🙏😊
I agree to - maybe I'm harsh but if you discover more hidden DS/tech items upon non-school attendance, I'd add an additional day to the removal. As if the punishment grows exponentially, it's definitely something Andy wouldn't want to have happen continuously, especially when he seems to love the new school & the bus journey

I totally agree with Kevin. Andy has th be held accountable for his actions. He is very smart & he knows exactly how to work his mother. Anna I think you are amazing. Andy is you only son. So of course you are a little more soft on him. But that’s not helping him. I’m sure that isn’t helping him by giving in. Please stand ur ground. I’m not attacking you at all. Lately it seems that Andy has been doing great half the time and the other half is like walking on eggshells with him. If he doesn't get his way or is frustrated he breaks things. Biting the teacher is not acceptable. I know how challenging this has to be for you. I guess you have to follow through on the consequences of his actions. Taking away all of his electronics, etc. Maybe talking to his doctor or behavioral professional to see what they suggest. When Andy doesn't go to school it disrupts your whole work day. On a lighter note, I like the clothes Anna picked out for him.

Anna~ you have such a big and kind heart, and you don't want to see Andy unhappy, no one wants that for their child, but taking away his electronics and then spending the day with him to keep him happy will not bring it home to him that he is having a consequence for his poor choice. Making his consequence better does nothing to reinforce making a proper choice. If he is bored in his room with no toys or electronics, so be it. He has to learn that he does not have the final say in everything. I am not trying to be mean, but just saying that he, like every kid, has to learn about doing the right thing, and what happens if they don't. I hope this is just a one-off and that he goes back to school with no problems. Much love to you all.

I like the way you refer to the hype clothing brand as what chavs wear, Kev! 😄 I know exactly what you mean when you say chavs tend to wear the sweatpants and hoodies etc although it’s not a term heard of now. Back in the day when I was at school, there were a few groups amongst my peers: chavs, emos, goths, nerds and teachers pets…don’t think kids know what all those types of groups are nowadays…

But aren’t they still toys? He still hasn’t got the consequence behind it of not having anything. I think that’s pal Kevin was being. Even though he’s trying to diagnose himself with autism, Kevin could also be taking it on a literal Stants. And I know this may experience, because having autism and myself we do take things very literal if someone says no to something it means no and it doesn’t mean yes five minutes later it stays as low.

I agree with this if my son has a bad day at school even just one there’s no Roblox card and no McDonald’s his treats on Friday also if we have plans for the weekend they are cancelled as well honestly it works wonders

That Hype brand is very popular with teens Andy's age. I live near a high school in Manchester (UK) and I see all the teenagers with Hype bags and clothing. Not my cup of tea (I'm an old millennial) but Andy will be right on trend with his peers in those 👍🙂

This stuff is usually very pricey! We’ve liked the T-shirts though because boys clothes often have dull colours. Hype have great coloured T-shirts! However the tracksuit stuff often doesn’t last. We’ve gone off Hype now as it’s expensive and the quality and feel of the material isn’t always great.
I hope Andy went back to school today. I'm not sure which influence house/group it is. But I googled it and That hype logo looks almost exactly the same as the “hype house” logo.
I have my 2 dogs groomed by a mobile doggy hairdresser and she only takes cash. like you kev it's the only time I handle cash.

Anna, you can be and are way too soft on Andy, which is why he tends to manipulate you and you need to stop giving into him as much as this will not help him in the long run. Listen to Kevin. He is right. Speaking of which, I 100% agree on not giving him his devices on the weekend as well. Just because he has difficulties doesn't excuse what he is doing now. Do not give in. Hope he learns.

yes, but if he has a meltdown, because it’s quite difficult for the weekend, that’s okay but given that Kevin possibly has autism, he could be literally wanting to do the control. And just remember and I could turn around and say no Kevin you’re not having that because Andy is close to an adult. So he’s probably learning it elsewhere.
Hey is it possible that Andy has figured out some how that most kids are graduated by now and that's why he's not going everyday.
