Can't wait Bison! Was good to speak with you on FB! We still await our own season to start after we had a free week after a delayed start due to weather!
    All the best pal!

Hopefully the weather will co-operate soon ! Have to say , though - that footy pitch looked in better nick than some of the cricket pitches you played on , last year !

Greetings to you Mr Bison. Longtime watcher, first time commenting. I’m very appreciative of the update. As a inhabitant of the southern hemisphere ( Sunshine Coast Queensland ) and a cricket tragic, your channel is “ micro- dose “ that keeps the addiction alive during our winter. Thank you again and best of luck for your season.

With regards to the disciplinary points scoring, initially it looks like a great idea but with the likelihood being that most matches will be umpired by players from both teams, being sent on a umpiring course seems pointless as those that are more than debatable decisions (cheating), are unlikely to change their decisions just because they’ve been on a course, they likely know what should be given out or not & tend to give the decision in favour of their own team through choice, not because it was the correct decision.
As for the possibility of a £500 fine, I wouldn’t imagine there are that many clubs at this level that could afford to just give away £500 (or any money for that matter) & that could potentially mean clubs having to fold if they are left in debt. Most clubs funds are put into preparing their facilities throughout the whole year.
I get that this is likely put in place to try & deter the bad behaviour but if they are in the disciplinary code then there is the potential for these things to be handed down but it is also open to be abused as clubs use it as a way of trying to gain back points from other clubs, especially if they are close or have history.
I much prefer the idea of the guilty players being banned or even run deductions so a team starts with say -50 runs for a game or however many games is deemed suitable.

Yes banned is one of the options the panel would have.... Each defendant would be judged on merit I'm sure.
If I get summoned to the panel I'm sure they would choose a course on how to bat...

@@thecricketingbison6418 The advantage you guys will have is that you’ll have footage of the majority of the days play (if they allow that as evidence?) but others will just be a case of your say vs my say, which then becomes a whole different ball game.

@@thecricketingbison6418 I guess it would only really take the umpires to wear GoPro’s wouldn’t it & have somewhere to upload it to, wouldn’t it?
Not everyone is as dedicated as you, especially while playing.

@@Tipps72 some say dedicated. Others say weirdo :)
I'd love that. Every team to wear a video badge whilst umpiring. Then downloadable onto a shared drive anyone can view and get the popcorn out!
Can be easily done as it's what I have to do every day with my video badge when I finish work.....
