I like how Dr. Nefarious enjoys his time as emperor until the actual Emperor shows up, and it quickly turns into an abusive relationship where he realizes that he never truly won and that he can't let someone else steal all of his conquests
Victory without effort and accomplishments is meaningless. It's like playing a video game and you just skip to the ending that says "you win. Thanks for playing." I think Doctor Nefarious learned a lesson. He cannot take shortcuts when it comes to victory. He has to accomplish it on his own. (mostly)
I like Emperor Nefarious’ introduction. It quickly get you up to speed on how needlessly evil this man is, and how much he rebels in it. Instead of being frustrated that Rivet won against his doppelgänger, instead presents a backhanded compliment about how this is the first time she’s won against him. Then he proceeds to effortlessly shove her to the ground after banishing (and presumably killing) several innocent bystanders just for celebrating. Now that’s how you quickly establish this version of nefarious is more evil than the one we already know.
It’s amazing that Doctor Nefarious somehow managed to fix both the recurring Janice and Lance glitch, and the scar he got from Ratchet in A Crack in Time.
@@DrHundTF2 But if you pay attention to the enemy chatter when Doctor Nefarious appeared on hologram, the doctor is seen bemoaning that Lawrence is away on paid paternity leave. And if you pay attention to the credits, Lawrence and his wife are seen cradling their robot baby son.
I think he does have the scar still, but holy cow it is tiny looking if it is the scar. Either it is an artistic choice, he got it repaired, or robots in Ratchet & Clank passively repair over time like how humans heal slowly over time.
Yup and the song in the secret ending should TOTALLY be animated in SFM using the red medic as the Emperor, with blu medic being the doctor counterpart.

They seem to be leaving reboot continuity to the movies/tv show since the game tie in wasn’t all that liked by fans compared to the movie’s success. They got Robin Atkin Downes to voice Emperor Nefarious which is awesome. He also voiced Captain Slag in Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, and A Crack in Time.
It's also worth noting that Emperor Nefarious's assistant is also a very competent and dangerous villain, and was only stopped cause she got fired. She was genuinely doing everything she could to stop Rivet

I think it’s nice to see the good doctor again. I was kinda expecting the next game would have Nefarious actually turn good for real since All-4 One’s ending hinted the idea of him turning good again. But at least Nefarious actually dose redeems himself in the end so I hope they would revisit that idea.
More from villain, to anti-hero, to hero. All it took was to see that his other counterparts are also totally unable to defeat Ratchet, to have a peace of mind.
