- Alpha Legion vs Emperor's Children 3000 points Horus Heresy 2.0 Battle report.
Game 1 of many to come, come bare witness to our HH 2 debut with cool fully painted armies, KRATOS BATTLE TANKS, DREADNAUGHTS, TERMINATORS, EXODUS and loads and loads of line infantry.
Warzone Morloc Loves this game and its gritty feel, and i hope our enjoyment of our first game comes through.

Loved the batrep, armies look sexy AF. One observation rapiers can't react as they have the Artillery sub type ... see page 197 of the core rule book. Also shooting attacks made as part of a reaction done cause leadership tests due to casualties inflicted see page 159. 🍻
Ah mate thanks for pointing that out, completely forgot about the artillery sub type preventing reactions, I'll remember for the next game!
@@NickMorloc no reactions and T5 toned then back a bit, but Laser Rapiers are so so good (especially for an Iron Warriors)
A couple of more reminders as you folks are still learning. 1. Remember reinforced subtype of vehicles like Spartans and Kratos. It ignores shaken and the snap firing part of stunned. 2. You can only cause pinning checks on reaction shooting. It is obscure, but the reaction rules do cover it. For how many rules there are in this game, you are doing so well. Keep it up! Looking forward to more.
Mate really appreciate the points, that reinforced subtype is something I completely forgot about... that would definitely affect the game! As for the pinning rule, surely the way I'm reading it you can cause units to be pinned whenever they take a casualty from a weapon with that rule, not just during a reaction?! I need to reread this!!

@@NickMorloc yep. You can pin people with reactions, just not make them take morale for casualties. So an intercept fire reaction could pin a unit, but not make it run away, if that makes sense.

Love seeing the Alpha Legion in action, a couple of things from when you recorded this but the latest FAQ says the return fire shooting happens at the same time as the shooting that targets them so both get full volume of shots. A couple of other things for brutal weapons you do a separate save for each brutal number and banestike are breaching 6+

Headhunters have bane strike combi bolters - twin linked means you could have rerolled all misses. It's also breaching on a 6+ so no armour save on a 6 to wound! Worth noting for next time.
Cheers for the reminder, those Banestrikes are dangerous things in the hand of a unit with 2+ to hit...
Great Battle Report. I think Seige Tyrant Krak Missiles are only AP 3, so the Dreadnought and the Preator would get their armor save.

Cheers mate, yes we remembered on several occasions but I believe it slipped our minds on one or two others
Head hunter's have prefered enemy independent character, meaning they re-roll 1s for hits and wounds against units with independant characters

Thankyou mate I really appreciate it! It’s a really simple scheme of silver primer with a contrast paint painted over it (Akhelian green) that I copied from many other brothers and sisters of the 20th, but I’ll get it done!
@@WarzoneMorloc im not a fan of contrast so far but am willing to learn. Any tips? Do you super thin it with medium for multiple coats? Brushwork?
Jus letting you know rapier batteries can't react, and you only re-roll armour saves on heavy not invuns 🙂

Multimeltas and (banestrike) combi-bolters are both twin-linked. Headhunters let people off a little easy in the opening there. 😄 Not to bombard you with the rules for the new system, but always worth a check when a weapon has two barrels.
