What's so interesting about the Keith Lee situation is that man was already famous, he was a known MMA Fighter way before he got into CZcams, Tik Tok, and Food reviews that man has always been that dude and it is just fascinating for people to claim they love "Nice People" and then turn around and find a problem with a nice person. Keith Lee did a response video clearing the air and that response was literally because people was attacking that man over something that BET and Taraji did. I did not really care if Keith Lee and Jordan switched seats as the host of a show it was her responsibility and BET to make sure they properly researched and that means pulling these people's pictures up and matching a face to a name. Not knowing somebody name, and flirting with them when they have a whole wife right next to them will never be a good look and the fact that Taraji didn't even know that Keith Lee is 27 and Jordan Howlett is 26 years old I guarantee you she would have never even flirted with them because the optics of that would be seen as desperate and predatory. Taraji didn't even know how to pronounce Halle Bailey name and she worked with this girl on the Color Purple movie make it make sense.
The BET Awards is for black creatives and entertainers that means CZcamsrs, Tik Tokers, Designers, singers, rappers, Authors, Activist, and anybody who is black that has a large following and have made a impact within their community will be invited to the BET Awards because that show was created to celebrate black people from all careers not just singers, rappers, and actors. Keith Lee has done more for his community then any celebrity ever has!
What BET did to Keith was beyond disrespectful you don't play with somebody name that was absolutely embarrassing and he had every right to feel some type of way, you cannot disrespect somebody and then police how they respond to it. I bet you if we did that to them at an award show in front of thousands of people not only would they be embarrassed, but they would be ready to throw hands.
Lastly, the amount of Elitism I have been seeing black people use against this young man has been quite disturbing not y'all using white supremacy talking points and telling a black person they don't deserve to be in black spaces because they not a celebrity and then trying to compare that man to Taraji to try and diminish that mans impact is insidious behavior. This is why I divested from certain aspects of black culture because our community only supports chaos, dysfunction, and confusion.
