    It seems like he has a switch that he turns on when he wants to and can do whatever he wants. He does it against everyone Dake, IMar, CHAMIZO, and he smashed Taylor into the next dimension. Crazy if you think about the longevity of his career (at a high level).

Jordan made all of these guys raise their level it’s way easier when you have a rabbit to chase, hell dake and Taylor literally teamed up to train together and figure out how to beat Burroughs. I'm really hating this pushout rule. Kudos to Burroughs for adapting and figuring it out, but so much of Burroughs scoring here just feels unfair. Imar was the agressor for most of the match and that let Burroughs keep catching him off balance and shoving him out of bounds.
    I just don't like seeing all these fast and dynamic scrambles end whenever they approach the edge because it's so much smarter to go for a pushout than a takedown.

    • @peterlewis8227
      @peterlewis8227 Před 5 lety

      Yea, I'm definitely not faulting Burroughs for wrestling a very smart match after taking the early lead, but it's just not that great to watch.

    • @Otdier
      @Otdier Před 5 lety +3

      He took him down twice. I feel like your implying IMAR is better because he is more aggressive, which is not the case. This is much better to watch than riding for 4 minutes like in folk.

    • @peterlewis8227
      @peterlewis8227 Před 5 lety

      @@Otdier I see how it sounds like that.
      I just think Imar is alot better than that final score. Burroughs won and he won convincingly. They both had the same rulebook and the match was fair.
      My main beef is with the rule. The average pushout I see wouldn't have resulted in a takedown. Rather than focus on takedowns and turns, the wrestlers start focusing on how to score a pushout. Once the match nears the edge the equation changes from "how do I take this guy down to how do I shove this guy out?" I think that's pretty lame.

    • @GrapplingIgnorance
      @GrapplingIgnorance Před 5 lety +1

      @@peterlewis8227 The line of thinking is that with a push-out rule, both wrestlers will be inclined to control the center of the mat, so they will both stay away from the edge, causing fewer stops. Unfortunately, that doesn't really solve the problem. The ideal solution relies on referees to call stalling when people back up and ride the edge. It's more of a judgement call though, and you also hate to see matches dictated more by refs than objective rules that both wrestlers understand going in.

    • @Otdier
      @Otdier Před 5 lety +1

      @@peterlewis8227 I disagree, i think IMAR is what the final score says. I think JB is better than the previous two final scores.
      They have to have the push-out rule so that there are points being scored. People want to see points scored and I think there would be less take downs and more caution points.

      He was miles ahead of others in his age group in high school. Then in college competition increased so he wasn’t nearly as dominant, but still did very very well. On the world level he was arguably best in the world at 2 points in his career but the match decisions were overturned after winning them and it was very controversial. Came out of retirement as an older guy, got really close to making the team but didn’t. Coaches now and has a business and family. 2 things far more important than a world title in my opinion
