Jollof Rice Originated from JOLLOF i.e SENEGAMBIA. It's Original Name is BENACHINE/CHEB

Chicken foot soup is power .. love it
I called Afra , street meat because it was always purchased outside of the home (while in Gambia )because we would get it late nights while we were out!! Loved waiting for it to be cooked while socializing with friends🥰
That is the best part waiting in line talking to friends making jokes 🇬🇲
🇯🇲 Sorrel yes its definitely the drink we add ginger to it That's so cool that they have it there in the Gambia and it's nice to know that they call it by a different name thank you for that I really like watching your videos

Oh man that bean puff tastes amazing with bread!!
I feel like African and Caribbean cultures have such interest vegan and vegetarian options that should be considered. My dad grew up on lots of veggies and fruit based foods that were very hearty and can have meat or not. Those bean nuggets sound amazingggg

Hahah tapalapa
Can you do a vid of you going to your favorite Gambian restaurants and bakeries? For us who are planning to travel there.
I’ll be there next week! Im so excited to try these dishes!
When I visited Ghana 🇬🇭 my favorites were waakye, yam/rice with stew, and peanut butter soup w omo tuo(rice balls) wonder if it tastes similar to the domoda
God bless you abundantly and ghana loves you more ❤
Oh how I miss waakye... Yes peanut butter soup is the same as domoda. But Gambia and Senegalese domoda, the sauce is made thicker than the other African countries
My favorite food in Ghana was tuo zaafi and banku
Thank you! I’m saving this video for my trip there next month 😋
We also call it Akara in Nigeria
Love this!!! We made puff puff it’s so good, they’re like homemade donut holes yummmm
The same here Ricki Vimto is my fave drink
I want to go visit my family again. Coz you got my mouth watering by talking about all these goods . Haven’t had them in a long time . Love your Chanel

Thanks for sharing the great foods and drinks as a suggestion for us to try.. Nice content. Because it will make it easy for us to order.
All great foods....Thanks for sharing this video with us
Domada is a straight-up classic when it comes to Gambian dishes. I’m glad you’re enjoying your time in The Gambia. I’m American, but my family originated from Gambia, and your videos are making me wanna go back there and live there.
Keep up with the great vids, and take care of yourself
Now I’m just hungry 😭 miss these foods sm
Ooo 🙋🏾♀️💡 you should talk about school lunches in Gambia compared to America ( if you remember) lol
I was waiting for you to mention ebbeh, I was like please tell me someone put her on ! ebbeh is like one of my all time fav gambian foods , and your so right that when you first look at it you would be put off and think its nasty ( as many of the soupy saucy dishes over there do) but once you try it its life changing!
Ebbeh and kaba are my all time favs 😍
YASSSSSSSS !!!!!! You know what’s good !!!
Girl you are making me hungry and wanna go back to Gambia 🇬🇲 this minute just to go get the real Kaba that’s one of the most should I call it food or snack well whatever kaba and toll are of the snacks that I miss so much in the Gambia 🇬🇲 I can’t wait to go back well I think this is a switch you went to Africa when you were 15 years old and I came to America 🇺🇸 10 days before I turned 15 years old 🥰🥰🥰🥰by the way am new here I just subscribed to your channel 🥰🥰❤❤❤❤
My favorite african dish has to be domoda, thiou, yassa, benechin, akara and drinks, wonjo, vimto and kabba
YESSSSSSSS YOU KNOW !,😋☺️
i love how you went in when you talked about kabba , tbh i think kabba is likwe one of my top three fav fruits ever , its just so bomb. The way you said "its just so good yall " had me dead loool like your voice said it all . this video is really making me miss gambia, getting kabba in the US costs an arm and a leg
Nah I’m in class and watching this 😭 Love you girl ❤️
ahhh that’s some true support! 🥺🥺 i appreciate it hehe thank you for watching!!
Lol me af! Currently at work watching our girl 😌 lol
Hi Ricki! Your video was great! Foods look good and your description of flavors made my mouth water. Looks like you get more fresh ingredients daily. And yes always be careful with bread, rice and all starches right lol 😂 You are looking more beautiful and more like mom💜
I love everything you listed and I miss kaba juice and kaba ice yum 🤤
Love the video❤️i miss chicken yass and domoda
All my favourite mostly akara mayonnaise and bread tea in the morning 😍😍😍😍
Food looks delicious ❤
Must be tasty 😋
definitely is!! 😍😍
Great list. Love Kabba. Check out Kabba Girl. She sells kabba all year long because it is preserved. You can get it out of season and it is still good. Ebbeh is Gambian seafood gumbo. A drink you should try in addition to Hibiscus, Baobab juice and Kabba juice is Dittah (the green one). And the yellow cocktail is like Vimto but different flavor. So good.
In South Africa we eat puff puff with Chicken feet soup 👌🏾👌🏾. Or Atchaar ( Mango pickle) or Bologna. Etc. If you visit South Africa ask someone to take you to the townships so you can have that. Trust me you won’t regret.
Chicken feet. Mmmm
@@africaine4889 when they are broke in Africa, rich customers have chicken legs chopped off at markets, so they ask the butcher to keep the legs for them, lol. So some are used to preparing stew with it. So if u see a Nigerian eating it you know they are from humble beginnings. It could also be just a choice in other African countries.
@@leeayi243 I love me some chicken feet. Am African.
I love sa
@@leeayi243 Why do you talk rubbish on social media,? Yes we are humble in Nigeria but where do you see chicken feet eaten? What part of Nigeria are you from? Chicken feet is a delicacy
Good Morning 👋 and awesome tutorial
Great video!
In addition to the drinks and foods you've mentioned I also like fruit cocktail, Fanta grapes... They are the only drinks I buy when I am in Gambia. I also miss coos pancake cherry with milk/sowe😥
So similar to other popular, delicious West African meals. And Art Cathy had us thinking they only have Benechin lol
I a ready to try all these foods and drinks...
Girl I love your list, but you HAVE to get someone to cook C’est Bon for you!!!!! Ooooooo I thought i had it all that dish made me pass out it was so good 🥰
I appreciate you letting me know those dishes I am coming to Gambia in July to meet my online boyfriend. I will try these .😋yummy
My best one is akara
not a chicken nugget🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you are so funny Ricki!
my favourite thing to do is to dip the pankeet in the leftover rice/stew porridge on the plate MMmm mmm!
Benachin for the win (with broken rice) 🤤
Akara is a snack that is originally from Nigeria but that has migrated to a number of West African countries as well as Brazil and the Caribbean. It is a traditional snack from Nigeria that is also popular in Ghana, Togo, Benin, Mali, Cameroon, Senegal and The Gambia.
It is actually a fried bean cake or fritter that is a common breakfast staple or fast food.
Normally eaten as breakfast with *Akamu* (Igbo)/Ogi (yoruba) which is like *custard* made from grounded maize/corn or millet.
They need more vegan options we feel left out here in The Gambia😢
You should make a part two and fragment it. Make for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and fruits that aren't here in amurika.
You’ve been talking about chicken yassa since you started this channel 😂 I’ve gotta try it somehow.
Gambia misss
good one
Excellent video....
That Sbec shop omelette really bagged man!!!

I have never bought Vimto in the UK but in Gambia it hits differently !! haha

West African way in plano, Texas
You should also try “buns” it looks like “puff puff” but it tastes better 😳🤣😋😛👍🏾

Try thaikry ice its kinda like the dersert in a bag and frozen
Yummy 😋 Yummy 😋 😍
Jawbreaker Juice redirected me here!
Ricki Denise are you Gambian. Ricki Denise you could add puff puff with honey or with powder sugar with sardines inside the puff puff and it taste good. You have to add the honey when it's hot it taste good like that. For the powder sugar wait until the puff puff cool down to add it on.
Do they eat the panket with peanut butter in Gambia. That's how we eat them in Congo. With fresh made peanut butter. We also have the ginger panket that we eat with hot sauce made with ginger and different other spices in the sauce Ohhhh so good
💕💕💕
