They really dressed down Acho here. And I don't say that to hype black people attacking each other. Bruh be talking like he is a sociologist when he has minimal knowledge at best on the subjects he's trying to act like he's an expert on. Acho is a whole clown honestly so I love that Van went in.
Without question.
That’s the thing, it wasn’t even an attack. Van was really trying to have a deeper conversation & Acho just isnt capable of having.
You yourself are a clown because they don’t allow the big guns on this show. These hosts wouldn’t last one second with Roland Fryer.
He thinks because he talk in a loud confident sounding voice that his words hold weight when he ain't saying nothing
This aged well.
Acho seem like a person that just say what sounds good.
I’m glad Van said that Acho is full of shit here. Because i know immediately after that interview, it seemed that he was overly critiquing himself (& held back on Acho) because Rachel wanted the conversation to go a certain way, and that’s Rachel’s friend.
& what Rachel wanted to was honorable, but Acho was the reason it went left, and Van had so so much restraint.
Imagine working at a company's location for decades and a new employee arrives telling you they know as much or more about that company and location than you do? That's Acho who gets offended when told he's lacking.
These two are great.
So basically you calling him a young Jason Whitlock in training.
I mean he did work on the show Whitlock created so 🤷
I'll take Whitlock and his decades of consistency, that's not the insult I'm sure you meant it to be.

Acho used the American black experience for his own show. Thats why Wiley left- even tho he's trying to save face-.
Acho doesn’t know enough to engage in, let alone facilitate, a conversation about race relations in this country. There are 1st gens with more knowledge than him if we were to go that route. But Black Americans are and will always be the experts in our history and present experience in this country
💯 facts, thank you.

I disagree, @BeaSiegal, he knows and knows enough. But he also knows that there is more exposure (exposure=$$$) by coming in on this docile tip.

@@rosslaverdure bro: you can’t accept an invite to “difficult Convo’s” and then say “this was too difficult” … acho has anti-blackness on full display
It's sad that Acho is more comfortable having that uncomfortable Convo with the other man instead of the brother man. Say what you mean and mean what you say. And stand on it. Right wrong or indifferent.
I've literally heard Acho say out of his mouth that he wasn't around black people as a whole until he got to the NFL. He's from Dallas which has a huge black population which means you really have to intentionally not be around black folks for you not to be around them.

After watching that podcast sadly my views on Acho have completely changed. It was sad to see that brother fold and NOT have the uncomfortable conversation. Smh
Hes a sellout clear as day.... He doesn't identify with Blacks here in the USA, he thinks hes above them due to not coming from Slavery. He thinks its an invaluable asset to know "where his people come from", he doesn't see it as a source of strength that many others do... Hes not a bad guy but when he speaks about black people the way he does its no wonder he was propped up by the "Bosses" that marcellus mentioned..... He also stabbed marcellus behind the back which idk i dont know their situation but it at least deserved a conversation. Did you really not fuck with Marcellus that much to do that to him?
Me too. He seemed incredibly shallow and came off like his Show was performative, insincere and disingenuous for the purposes he claims of racial understanding and the ways inequality is perpetuated
@@seensay2132 I can understand your point but being demeaned and being uncomfortable are two different things. It’s all about perception and prospective.
@@albread what part was demeaning???
@@seensay2132 the entire confrontation was telling this black man that he wasn’t being black enough and his work turned him off pretty much. Not exact worlds. That’s what can make a man say where is this conversation going. No offense.
He definitely needs to have uncomfortable conversations with a black man! Like he said he’s a first generation black person living in America and probably can’t relate to generational oppression some families have experience in the United States.
So he needs to stay in his unrelatable lane instead of impersonating black folks who deal with the hell of racially bias america
He needs to realize that his ancestors were slaves
A lot of people can’t relate to that. Van probably can’t either. We all have our own black experience. We also share similar experiences.
@Bread T you're being disingenuous with comment
How you going call your show uncomfortable conversations with a black man, then turn around and say you catch more bees with honey than vinegar, that's literally saying you gonna make it sweet and comfortable for them.
Acho wants to talk to everyone but black people. Soo sad and shows that just because we're the same color doesn't mean we're on the same side
Yeah, we're so monolith smh.
No, he's fine with talking to black people...as long as they "color within the lines" and don't say anything that makes white folks uncomfortable.
Which is truly a waste of everyone's time. 🙄
Emmanuel is the definition of a cornball brotha. When you have to state you are a black man when you start a show, that’s enough right there 😂
That's an insult to Cornalls. ;)
This man Coons. There are plenty of Corny MoFo's who do not succumb to Cooning.
And Van ain't a cornball??

I'm of the belief that people go on tweeter to spew stuff because they don't have the knowledge, breadth, and depth of intellect to have a sit-down debate/conversation.
Why limit yourself to a tweet when you can maximize yourself with a conversation in which you have an exchange of knowledge and perspective?
Well said Rach and Van.
Acho's methods, his takes, and admitted opinions have unfortunately been questionable for quite some time. I love Joy Taylor and Shady McCoy as well but Acho just doesn't sit right with me so I don't support that particular show and I'm an athlete. Van Lathan has ALWAYS been genuine in my humble opinion and I'm glad he is on our side! 💪🏾💪🏾💯💯

This whole situation was fucked up.
Rachel looks sooooo good.
There’s a lot of nuance in that conversation with shared experiences but unfortunately it was never to be because of the initial disagreement.
Nigeria 🇳🇬 gained its independence Oct. 1st, 1960 while being inspired by the Civil Rights Movement in America 🇺🇸 as was The Continent of Africa.
Actually, it was inspired mainly by Ghana being the first to gain independence from the Brits, but who's counting...Lol

Never knew Rachel had a white husband and I guess it took me by a bit of a surprise being as though how much race is spoken about on this show. Interesting.
Black folks over the last 60 years have mastered the art of playing see saw politically with other black folks. They say everything that sounds good but sexually (which is a real indicator) they prove where they actually stand
@@mxhughes I agree
@@sincerely5906 That's your opinion, nevertheless my comment still stands. Whether it's a black man or woman, to speak on race and the unification of black people so much, yet has a non black partner is interesting yet also weird. Simply because, you can't be Problack but building with a non black so....
@@sincerely5906 I agree with everything you said, that's why I first called it interesting. So, I think it's absolutely ok and frankly should be damn near mandatory for a black person to speak up and out on black issues in general. However, I just think you can't be Problack if you marry /date out because it goes against that very foundation of what being Problack is. People don't understand the difference between Problack and proud black, I think you can be black and proud but not pro. And Yes most of these "celebs" aren't Problack at all, in fact I'd argue the majority is antiblack.
@@sincerely5906 You're correct, there isn't a conversation between pro and proud which should be because most of the people I believe are proud to be black for whatever reason but they aren't truly pro black. I think someone like Rachel fits into the proud to be a black woman stance perfectly. I think she's very proud and wouldn't change it, however the fact you still chose a white man to build with speaks volumes. I think someone like Kanye West or say Candace Owens are antiblack.
The fact that Emmanuel's family had to flee the third world conditions of his homeland to come here, around black americans who fight white supremacy, to live an easier life lends to the fact of his own generational trauma and him saying that he doesn't have any speaks to his cognitive dissonance which was displayed throughout the entire conversation.
Acho was a clown 🤡
To be candid, I don't entirely disagree with Acho's comments re generational trauma. The black diaspora is just that: a diaspora...And our experiences, specifically with trauma, differ substantially. The African-American experience is uniquely different from the African, or even Afro-Caribbean experience. That's not to say that one is realer than the other...The point is to learn collectively from these experiences so we can collectively combat oppression. Africans do in fact carry generational trauma, however this is in relation to colonialism. This includes economic oppression and, in some cases, outright social engineering from the colonial powers of they day. The problem with Acho's comments, and his attitude for that matter, is it came across as insensitive and condescending. This is a perception that some US-based Africans have. Frankly, it's outright arrogance. What alot may not realize is that Acho is a typical first-gen West African male. Listened to his parents, focused on school, and tried to maintain balance between social relationships, athletics and academics. His language and style is that of a preachy "West African Uncle" in that he is constantly trying to appear deeper than he really is. I am also uncomfortable with him positioning himself as a "racial middle man" with his "Uncomfortable Conversations". He is playing into the hands of those who don't want to see any of us win. This whole situation is just sad. We literally are the same people. Lastly, and on the other end, some African-Americans can perceive themselves as the owners and protectors of so-called "black culture and experience". No doubt their story is one of strength and resilience, but this doesn't make them the ultimate arbiters of what is truly black and what is not. That's a joke as well. Overall, this situation is both sad and divisive. Y'all played yourselves. Both of you...
Amen and Amen. I totally agree with you especially the last part.
To be fair, Van - and we know you're not talking about violence - but what exactly are you proposing? Th same conversation we've already rehashed one million times? Each person gets to move the needle as they see fit (even though what he's doing is also not my cup of tea). If the issue is that he is speaking "for" Black America when he is not so-called FBA/ADOS, then say so. Although, he can obviously speak for his own black experience in America. I would also ask Rachel to answer whether what Van/everyone else is doing after all these years has solved anything.
I thought Acho was alright UNTIL, I watched a 3d episode. It was the one with the cops. I was done because there were so many problems with that conversation. It was far from uncomfortable for them, but uncomfortable as hell for me to watch.
Sure looks like the case to me. You left him hanging out there. You supposed to be his friend.
😂ikr and it’s like she doesn’t understand but if he would have played her the way she did him , she would be livid. I feel where Van was coming from but he did attack him and clearly dude not a confrontational person.
Brilliant. I believe the main flaw in Acho's shown is his own hubris and narcissistic nature. He started well but got caught in the echo chamber of yt praise. Also remember, he is not of the African American experience. He has that hubris, too. He thinks that because he's African that these yt folks dont think he's.... but that's Just what I think.
🤣😂🤣
No Van Bookman didn’t kill anybody in the Haitian revolution
You’re doing the same thing you accusing Ach of
@@lenzdessources5775 I'm interested in what you mean(seriously). Could you explain?
@@sassy1j102 sure, Van Latha is saying Acho is not qualified to speak about American blacks issues and culture cause he’s “Nigerian” however he’s over here spreading misinformation about the Haitian revolution as a n American black
@@lenzdessources5775 I thought so! Just out of curiosity, because I know about the Haitian revolution but also the repercussions that followed, particularly from the US and Europe, but can you state to me the false information that Van "the man with the great intellect" made in reference to the Haiti? And take all the time you need. I can read😄
Let's please stop using the N-Word.
Y’all, leave that comfort animal for yt people alone…..
i want them to have uncomfortable convo with Trump lol imagine that...
Well he got the point because he took the video off of his page he does not have the right to come into this country as a first-generation immigrant and speak for the experience of African American people in this country and this is coming from a woman that is ADOS and lives 45 minutes from a slave market that stands till this day where my great-great-grandfather was sold not once but twice he is arrogantly wrong on this one and to me he strikes me as a narcissist with a colonizer mindset and sad to say a lot of Nigerians have this mindset I just learned recently that they have a racial slur for us which is akaka which I think means wild animal but anywho there's so much more that I can say on this subject but I'll leave it at that you did an awesome job checking him and showing him that the black people that he calls himself trying 2 represent does not want or neither did we ask you to speak for us and if he was being genuine about it he would have consulted with us first! That means putting your feet on the ground and interviewing and talking to those of us that are FBA and also ADOS !
are you sure about Haitian revolution info 🤔 🤔🤔
Seriously. Is your point of contention when he said that during the Haitian revolution that middle class black people were killed? And did you also feel like that was some insuiating verbiage about how black middle class should be thought about here? That's was the feeling I was picking up
In the last few weeks this podcast has helped me understand how authentic Stephen A Smith is and how ignorant on his high horse Emmanuel Acho is. I believe that Emmauel should have been afforded grace had he actually met Van halfway in the aftermath of this discussion. But Emmanuel's continued arrogance shows the danger of unqualified black people trying to create discussions on things they aren't skilled enough to discuss.
I am def not a fan of Acho, but there are many African Americans that think like him. They look down, and rarely associate with their own.
I went to college with many, and guess what, I’m more pro Black than any.
CANCEL THAT MESS ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Yea... If the point was to win the argument they did but at what cost..... This is sad to me... Instead of schooling him peacefuly and making an alliance they made a enemy.
People like Acho are enemies. All skin folk aren’t kinfolk.
@@kingtremaine6232 Agreed but let me pose this...... To me there has to be a better for our people, who are not a monolift, to move towards a common goal even if we disagree on approach.
@@readygce Not all black people are a monolith, but there needs to be a unifying principle of which all black people stay on code and do not go against. For example, not all white are a monolith, but they ultimately stay on code and play their role in one way or another in the furtherance of white supremacy. The problem with Acho is that he is off code with black people for his own personal gain.
All skin folk aren't kin folk. Acho isn't ready for an intelligent and uncomfortable conversation about race and white supremacy. White supremacy is global.
😉
Like Van but he was out of pocket on this. See its easy to go Acho low hanging fruit. Why doesn't turn that energy on other like Lil Wayne, Jay-Z or Charlemagne. Those individuals have said and done foul stuff to our community.
Y’all blind side him tho.
Could Have Been A Great Conversation, BUT Van did not give the opportunity to do so!!!
🗣🗣🗣Yooo Acho, Rachel is not your friend 😂😂😂. And while we are calling out Acho, anyone going to call out Rachel on her pro-black stance with her choice in partner to build with?
Congrats Van, you just made more of your listeners/fans dislike E. Acho. Even though you didn't mean to. Acho has his methods, I just wish you both and all black ppl would respect that. Smh
So after hearing this guy Van talk. Is he not a racist himself? I could be wrong but he sounds like one.
Welp Rachel just lost a friend. I agree with the majority about Acho but I also feel as though Rachel knew Van was going to come for his neck and she maybe didn’t warn Acho. Do you put your friend in those situations? I personally don’t know. I don’t think she intended for the outcome but I’m wondering if she would of done it differently. Because he only came on because of their relationship
I think she thought he could handle having an uncomfortable conversation since that’s what he claims to be having on his show
@@amandar8699 hmmm I have to disagree. It was clear as day he was not expecting that. We all know his style is not confrontational and Vans is. And is it worth your long friendship?
That’s the thing…Van didn’t really come at his neck. Van actually tried to word things in the nicest way possible while being honest.
Instead of questioning Acho’s intent or using the harshest words, he would just say why he thought Acho’s work is unproductive and can be damaging.
Friends argue way more harsh than that. If anything, Acho lost a friend, because he’s the one who was being condescending towards them.
@@LamarFrancis I agree but even Van stated he went too hard. All I’m saying is if I know my friend that I grew up with that is a certain way, I would second guess putting them in certain situations. I from Dallas and Acho and Rachel have been friends longer… And yes friends argue but Van and Acho ain’t friends. I recognize Rachel was in a spot I just don’t think I would of brought him on especially when I helped him create uncomfortable conversations. Listen I am not sure what the answer is I just always wonder how people navigate relationships
I 100% agree with you. Rachel has to own that she didn't give her "friend" the heads up that she could have. She's on the show with Van every week. She knew what was coming. And Van has to get over his own self righteousness in my opinion. I'm not a fan of Acho AT ALL but he didn't owe Van an argument. At a certain point the conversation was pointless because it was just Van venting.
Van....is...wow at times...Rachel Lindsay...phew....BUT, i saw the interview and ..ya'll...no lies told
They did Ocho just like what she did to Chris Harrison. Ocho was shocked because he was not expecting it. That is why he came on the show. When he realized Rachel Lindsay his so call friend was cringing and did not have much to see, his spirit was shattered. They looking for ratings for that show and are scared because of the attention Chris Harrison's show will bring. Now Ocho knows that she was made with him because she wanted him to back her with everything that she did with Chris and the Bachelor show. Ocho, block her and everyone that is associated with her. You know what type of person she is. You have seen all sides of her, from college to the Bachelorette show, etc. Ocho, you are a Christian and you know God shows your your enemy, so please take head to what happened and move on.
What does Acho being a Christian have to do with this? You can be a foolish Christian. Or in Acho's case a
Christian fool.
I listened and was really respecting what Van had to say for most of this clip and I was enjoying hearing another perspective, and then that last little part at the end through me way the hell off. Van made himself look stupid as hell and frankly I don’t see the point in that. If Acho is a clown then you Van are no better, just a clown in a different suit!
All the crap at the end was unnecessary. He was acting like a clown.
