I've always known that this is a black owned company. It seems that it isn't aimed at BW, but I'm fine with that; there are other options.
But I'm pleased to see a black owned company making money out of the white market; it's normally the other way round.

I'm glad you did this review! I've always wanted to try, but I was always thrown off that the owner is a black woman who doesn't promote her products to other black women.

They only have 1 product (Curl Charisma Chia + Flaxseed Coil Custard) produced for type 4 hair. The other products in the Curl Charisma line are for 2A to 3C hair types (per their website). They are not for us type 4 naturals.

Great video! I have visited their website a few times and would love to support this black-owned company. However, judging from their marketing campaign, these products are not made for my type 4 thick and curly hair. As you just confirmed for me, just because this brand is black-owned doesn't mean it is made for my particular hair needs so I'm going to pass. Very informative and helpful!

People say it’s unnatural to slick your edges and to embrace them they way they are that’s like saying why do you use products in your hair, you should embrace your hair the way that it is without products because that’s unnatural

I’ve used their cool custard and curl gel and love it. My hair is fine and curly so it doesn’t weigh my hair down like other brands. I don’t think it’s suitable for kinky hair as it didn’t do anything for my sisters (4a) hair .

Its for the texture the PRODUCT(S) were made for.
And I have like the collection's "as if" they were collector's items.
And the products are NOT for highly textured hair. Yeah, she 🤦🏿 "blk-esh". That doesnt mean she thinking about you🤷🏿!
💜The Scalp Revival collection IS the ONLY one that 🎸 with highly textured hair. Scalp problems or not its a YAS. 😩. Shampoo works as it should it does feel drying. It's a wonderful prep for the conditioner, that WORKS!
I used the thier wack-attack Deep Conditioner x2🤷🏿 its not a light protein or moisture treatment. It's very wack. its has zero penetrating properties on Highly textured hair. Protein treat from:Curl Junkie: (Stronger) Repair me or (light protien treatment) Beauty (?).
Green Beauty: (on list. havent tried)
You can adjust the amount of proteins in each treatment.
Aphogee: (havent used since i was a tween.)
Shea Moisture: (light protein treatment) Manuka Honey 🍯 and Yogurt Deep Conditioner.
Mielle: Has a Babassu moisturizing and protien treatment.
Caviar Repair has is a protien cream leave-in from Alterna.
Want something natural? Try Cassia Obvata (Does NOT deposit natural dye. Effects last about 2 weeks add what you like), Henna (DOES deposit natural dye and do not repeat sections until evey 6 mo. to a year just touch-up) or use a Henna gloss treatment (best of both worlds DOESN'T deposit color last about 4weeks.)
Add what you like. Please make sure it has less Henna than Cassia to protect hair from color deposit.
Demo online. Got a 💰? 🏃 to your salon professional and tell her/him to 🏃 you that Olaplex use for hair treatments. comes with direction on how to. With any protein treatment please use moisture rich Shampoo, Conditioners, any type of leave-in, stylers and incorporate a non- spray leave-in conditioner to keep hair conditioned and moist.
I might be biased, cause we ova here🚆 babies.
🤡 She want that Sephora/QVC swag 🙄. Some folk dont wanna shop with us. $$$$. 😆 okay.
All other 💣 hair line: Soultanicals, Curl Junkie The DC over Soultanicals 💚I use both Curls Dynasty and if you have natural hair but straighten you hair or not Nefertiti Secrets (ingidents arent very "clean") nice product tho. The Mane Choice Pink Lemonade 🍋 Shampoo Conditioner and Deep Conditioner. Yas!

    • @minimalassembly7893
      @minimalassembly7893 Před 4 lety +2

Wow, I am not going to lie, their anti-frizz shampoo is pretty good for encouraging definition if you have any damage or are overconditioned. However, I am not a fan of the overall brand.
What’s funny is that I restocked on their deep co only to see that she removed the (expensive) penetrating protein (Keratin) and replaced it with cheaper proteins (Hydrolyzed wheat, soy). The deep co is still the same $36 for cheaper ingredients. It wasn’t performing well in my hair anymore, which is when I noticed different ingredients. I have since switched to Curl Junkie Repair Me and it works better in half the time (5-10 minutes).
Overall, the Briogeo products have too much protein for type 4 hair. It is every step of the routines they promote. Our hair only needs light doses or periodic protein, not an overdose.
When I reached out to them years ago to try and review the products on my type 4 hair, no response. When I posted a review of deep conditioners in my routine on Instagram, they were tagged and never responded. However, when one of my curly-haired friends (long curly hair) commented on my Instagram post to ask about my conditioner selection, a Briogeo rep replied in the comments of MY photo encouraging my curly-haired friend to try their product. They are shameless.

Idk really! The custard shouldn’t be used with the gel, because the hold is too much! The gel literally says use it with the leave in only! I also agree that it should! Of course preference always prevails, but the results were beautiful to me!
