It was so funny watching this and seeing you literally go to all of the places I go to on a daily basis. Welcome to Florida!
Your momma misses you!! You actually made that look so much easier than it was … 😅
Best of luck at college. It’s a big deal and I bet your going to love the next few years there. Make sure you give it the old college try
Great video..Maybe a future video on your first month at USF...First impressions and pros and cons...My daughter is considering USF..Thank you..!
That’s awesome!! I definitely have more USF videos coming up in the future. Good luck to your daughter in her college search!
I'm starting in the spring so I'd be so happy to be friends!! ❤️
Oh that's awesome!! Let me know if you ever have any questions - even though this is my first semester, I'd be happy to help as much as possible!! ❤️
I just graduated w my bachelors and am thinking about University of South Florida for my masters :) the Tampa area looks soooo fun!
Congrats!!! I am pretty biased, but I’d absolutely recommend USF to anyone :) The Tampa Bay area is AMAZING!
Can you make a video about the different apartment costs for usf students both on and off campus
Or can you tell me where can I find the apartment pricing
Because this is my first year here, I really don't know too much about housing! But I recommend you start your search by looking up apartment complexes near USF and then making a list of them with their prices to compare. In terms of on-campus housing, I believe you can find info about that here: www.usf.edu/housing/resources/hall-rates.aspx . Hopefully that helped at least a little bit!
Why did you transfer? Did you ever talk about it
I have gotten a lot of questions like this - I will try and make a more in-depth video soon! To answer simply though - USC was very expensive and I got very overwhelmed my first semester there. When I left after one semester I quickly decided that I wanted to return, but then COVID happened and kept my return to SC from happening. Hope that helped to answer your question for now!!
How’s your experience so far? I just got accepted into USF and I’m currently enrolled at university of Michigan
Congrats 😆 So far, USF has been great for me!! I definitely feel like I fit in here. I love their Mass Communication program and being in Florida is so nice, especially if you're used to the cold Midwest like we are!! There are definitely some cons - like if you're looking for a college with a lot of school spirit, USF probably isn't for you. But overall I am so happy to be here and I am sad I only have three semesters left!!!
How was your experience living there? Quality of the apartment, noise etc?
I enjoyed my time at IQ! I never really had an issue with noise outside of the building or anything, but the walls are pretty thin so if my roommates had people over in the living room I could hear them very clearly in my room. It wasn't the worst thing ever, though! In terms of quality, I felt like I was getting what I paid for! My room only had typical wear & tear, and everything worked well. If I weren't moving into my sorority house, I would definitely stay at IQ! I'm especially going to miss the pool 😆
hey i was just wondering ur stats? i wanna see if i could get in with my stats
Hey! I was a transfer student so I'm not sure if they took into account my test scores, but I had a 3.82 transfer GPA and a 32 on my ACT. Hope that helps!
Nice video. How much you are paying for this apartment, monthly? Thanks.
Thanks! Right now, including all utilities and $30 parking, I pay $780 per month. Prices went up for next year though!
Is there many international students? I’m coming at august and I’m a bit nervous 😂
you definitely don't need to be nervous!! USF is a diverse campus for sure. my sorority had a handful of international students, and just walking to class I would often hear 3 or 4 different languages being spoken. from what I have seen as well, USF seems to have many cultural clubs/organizations that are very active on campus 😊
Hi I am interested in attending USF and I am looking at housing available and I have a few questions. Do you have suitemates? If so how many? Is this considered a university property? Do you pay rent?
Hi! I do live with three other girls in my apartment, but we each have our own room and bathroom. My apartment complex is not university housing, but it is right across the street from campus. I personally drive to class, but I have a roommate who rides an electric scooter/takes the bus so you don't HAVE to have a car! I signed a 12-month lease at IQ and pay rent monthly, yes. There are apartment-style housing options on campus but I personally like IQ more because it is cheaper, nicer, and has a beautiful pool! Hopefully that helps - thanks for watching 😁
My daughter is moving in next month we visited the area it looks a little sketchy did you have any problems with homeless people, how was management and staff ? I also read many broken gates so anybody can just walk in ? people complained about cockroaches i noticed all the bikes were chained up and all the tires were taken off the bikes that's not a good sign for a luxury apartment in my mind any input would help. Thank you
hi! yes, the area near IQ (really all of USF) isn't great. in my experience living at IQ though, I never had any sort of major security issues. the gates/parking garage door locks definitely were broken quite often, but thankfully I never had problems because of it. I guess if someone REALLY wanted to get in the building though they probably could if the gate/parking garage entrance locks are not working. but each unit has it's own lock and each bedroom has another!
the staff was always kind to me and maintenance was usually pretty prompt if there was a more serious issue in our unit (once we had a slow leak coming from the ceiling and they were on it after less than an hour of calling them). for smaller maintenance requests however, they likely won't get to them for a while, if ever. for example, for some reason our unit had an old door without a peephole. my roommate's mom noticed this right when we moved in and asked the complex to fix this, and the new door they supposedly "ordered" never came in, even after we reminded them of the issue multiple times.
at one point there were bugs in our kitchen, but I think that is mostly because dirty dishes would be left out too long. after a couple of months in my apartment I got my own mini fridge and stopped using the kitchen, lol.
overall, I liked IQ pretty well, and I would've stayed for another year if I didn't move into my sorority house on campus. hopefully this helped! thanks for watching!
@@claireemercier than you very much It helped a lot, we live on the east coast of Florida so were driving over again on the 11th to walk through My other daughter goes to UCF an they both love it there This puts me a little at ease after driving though the area the last time. Thank You again. One last question we out a ring door bell on our daughters entrance at UCF (The AVES) did you see any ring door bells at the IQ not sure if they would allow it or not but defiantly would install one if it is allowed. Thank again
of course!! happy to help:) I don't remember ever noticing ring doorbells at IQ - I’m not sure if this is because they aren't allowed or not. i'm sure if you just call the leasing office they could answer that for you quickly! they were always helpful with stuff like that when I was there :)
whether the utilities are included in the rent ?
hi! when I lived at IQ in 2021-22, all of my utilities were included in the rent price! I do believe you will get charged overage fees if you use a significant amount of electricity, water, etc, but I was never charged anything extra. the only thing that I paid extra for per month was $30 for parking in the garage, but of course if you don't have a car you don't have to pay it :)
of course!! when I lived there I paid about $780/month including parking, but I know rent has gone up like crazy since then:(
WE LIVE IN TAMPA NOW
