The thing is, I looooove The Magicians with all my heart and I completely understand they wanted the audience to be sad etc.. Honestly I would even have understood if they had brought back Qualice in a logical way. But the way they did in the last couple of episodes was just soooo confusing and completely out of context... I mean the whole group, including Quentin, was literary spitting on Alice like what? ..2 days ago ? I understand Quentin felt Eliot had rejected him and probably thought they were never gonna be together, but then wHY DID THE WRITERS SHOWED US ELIOT'S WHOLE MENTAL JOURNEY and had Quentin being so over protective of the monster (you know what I mean) ?
Anyway none of it matters anymore siNCE HE'S DEAD HAH.. HE REALLY DID DIE SAVING HIM AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN GET TO TALK IM-

@@miapregelj8028 That's not true, Q clearly loved Alice, he just also loved Eliot. I'd say that they were the loves of his short life. I will say that I believe Eliot was the most significant person in Q's life. What he had with Alice was only romantic, almost immediately. What he had with Eliot was so much more. They were best friends who fell in love. Even Alice knew that; she admitted as much when she said "He was pretty in love with you."
I think Quentin knew. It was fairly obvious.

He love both but i think he choose Eliot if will be still alive. Eliot grows and wish wish will be choose love/Q . They are simular. Booth broke inside and depresive and lonely. Eliot a lot of drinks and party Q want kill himself. They are together are happy and not feel lonely anymore.
Q had better chemistry with Eliot than everyone else in the show put together!

Alice and Q - felt like an awkward angsty high school relationship that should have imploded before it even really began. Elliot and Q - felt like soulmate level, earth shaking connection, super intuitive loves for life. Anybody know of some amazing fan fiction (where they somehow get to be together longer)?

They did literally live a lifetime together. They just got a chance to do it again and Eliot ran away.
Although I find that premise unbelievable, as Eliot had already lived those years in his experience and it would have changed him, built trust and love that would have overcome fear. He would have jumped at the chance to do it again.

Yup, I realize the angst is also coming mainly from Alice's side, she herself is a neurotic and angsty character. Q moving on from her felt like him growing up. Him and Eliot felt like a mature true love story. It's interesting that they worked easily as friends and partners and friends and partners regardless of romance with other people, they had a bond that just doesn't change.
The only thing I have solace in is that they did have a life together, even raised a child together. It’s more than some get. Still hurts.
After that episode I cried so damn hard...it was so beautiful.
This is how love should be, just...the people, no judging, no labels, just the pure emotions and the hearts.
Their life together was the beauty of life... I just realised that and it hit me hard

And in that moment he saw his friend and his love was safe and no longer controlled by the monster. Even though he was dead he was truly happy to see this. Yes his smile broke me.
The fact that Quentin is dead and not coming back is the single biggest insult of this show to its viewers. They deserved a chance to do the damn thing.

I understand that it was the actor's choice to leave but so saddddd. This could of been an epic love story.
Actually it wasn’t his choice to leave. He left, cause creators of this show wanted to keep show interesting n needed something unexpected to happen, something what fans did not expect. 🤷♀️

The relationship between Eliot & Q transcends any description of love I’ve ever seen on television or on film. The way their scenes were filmed, we could feel their love & watch their relationship bloom. Syfy did a spectacular job with their scenes together & I think that’s what made Q’s memorial even more intense for me. I had tears just rolling down my face, especially when that peach was thrown into the fire. I loved Q with Alice but I was in love with Q & Eliot. That will always be one of my favorite storylines ❤️
2:12 that little gesture...when this appeared on screen i cried so hard. They didnt forget the time they spent together, it was still in their hearts. They still had that special bond and GODDAMN MEN SHOULD CUDDLE MORE. Excuse me while I go cry again.
The fact that Q will never know how Eliot felt is the most heartbreaking thing about the S4 finale. They could have been amazing together😭

I love how so many people have gotten frustrated and hurt by the choices the writers made with these characters, and we have all reacted by making different kinds of art.
the way they hug, like they’re holding on for dear life, EVERYTIME even before they got together like.....I can’t wait to have a love like theirs 🥺😭
It's been a year and I'm back here again, sad and still mourning a character that I loved and cherished and related so much to. I hate what they did to Q and I hate even more that they made Eliot suffer so much. They gave up the opportunity to make Queliot a real tangible thing and I will never forgive them for that.

Despite the fact that Elliot never got to tell Q how he truly felt and what he really wanted they had a life together, 50 years, "peaches and plums", and they continue loving each other after that, proving their's is the greatest love story from this show. The lesson for me is that we must take the chance, face our fears, and waste no time, cause today is all we've got, so we must tell the people we love and love us how we feel about them, if we want to be with someone with should let them know, we should show them how much we want it, we should act, while we're still alive.
Thank you for making this! I've never been so disappointed and angry with The Magicians, and the worst part is that I loved so much this show, it was my precious treasure and now I don't feel like that. The way the showrunners play with the audience is awful, making empty promises and reducing Quentin to a "white male hero" after all he has done from the beginning. And Eliot comes back only to find that his soulmate is gone, and he didn't have the opportunity to confess his feelings to Q.
yes I completely agree.. I hate the fact that they presented it the way they did, and didn't even have them speak, while we had an emotional scene with Alice whom he didn't seem to care about a week ago. And yeah I agree I hate what they did to Eliot to, he didn't deserve this.. ANYWAY IM A MESS
@@zowho Eliot deserves better, he suffered many losses from the beginning, and now he has to step forward to face the death of the love of his life, and without a kingdom, only had Margo by his side after been possessed for an entire season. The burned the peach was so sad because the didn't have the opportunity to talk and let each other know, how they feel and if there any chances to be the power couple that they deserve and we wanted to see.
And Alice, oh Alice I have so bad feelings toward her, and I really want her to grow apart of a toxic relationship, but, the showrunners prefer going back to season one ignoring all the thing that Q and Alice have done to each other and how he didn't care about her in the first half of this season. It would be better to let down the two ships and let the fandom believes what we want to Q.

@@zoe-pride According to the articles I've read they say it was mutual but that the executive producer approached him with killing off his character not the other way around. If you're an actor and you get approached about being killed off it's not like you have a lot of options to disagree.
honestly I think why people hate it so much is because how good it is I definitely think Q new how eliot felt about him after eliot brings up the peaches an plumbs. this is a tragic love story and I think why people hate it so much is because it is two guys so they think the writers were trying to avoid lgbtq couples but if this was a guy and a girl people would be sad but not hate the show runners because in the end it is one of the greatest tragic love stories I have come across. and for that I will be ever impressed and grateful to have such amazing show runners and writters.

I was so focused on Alice and Q that I didn't have any time to get to focus and enjoy Elliot and Q before they freaking KILLED OFF THE MAIN CHARACTER LIKE THAT.

I’m sad that Quentin and Eliot didn’t get more screen time but I have to remind myself that they had a whole life together, they literally grew old and had a family together so they did have time with each other we just got a short montage of it
I cannot even put into words how absolutely heart wrenching and beautiful this video was. Your choice of scenes, the music, the editing - it literally just broke my heart all over again when I thought these two couldn't anymore. Honestly as the seasons went on I thought they were building them up to be a quality friends to lovers ship and now I feel so distraught because Quentin was my fave and I related to him so much brb crying. Thank you for this video, it means a lot to see them happy after what the show did to them. I’m just starting to process it and it’s been years. The way their story ended shocked me to my core and changed the way I look at the world for the worse, but it’s so much better to see it though this hopeful lens. I’ll try to keep looking this way 💛

This is incredibly beautiful. ALL THE FEELS and I've literally only watched five episodes of this series but oh my god, I shipped Quinten and Eliot right away.

Ok i really thought Q was going to reject Alice because he loved her, past tense, and that he will reject her because he has feelings for Eliot. He was just as upset as Margot when Eliot's body was possessed by the monster, so I THOUGHT it was going to go that way. BUT too bad that didn't happen :T

that shit pissed me off cuz time and time again they see that they just dont work. i think maybe Q was just lonely
If Q and Alice were meant to be, it would have happened. They weren't. Q was looking for a connection, just like every depressed person does. He latched onto the wrong person. I'm not saying Q was gay. I'm saying that Elliot wasn't available and Quentin looked for what was in front of him. The sadness of the entire arch is what should resonate. There are SO FEW shows that actually delve into what it's like to have severe, recurrent depression that anything we see as non-depressed people doesn't make sense. To Q this all makes so much sense it hurts. This what we should learn, no matter orientation or current emotional status.
I genuinely thought, Eliot and Q would end up together. I cried so hard when Eliot threw that peach into the firepit and I'm crying now, watching this video.
So I’m wrecked now, I’m gonna leave everything and go cry for the remainder of my miserable life😭😭😭😭

Thanks for this vid, its absolutely beautiful~ ♡ I totally agree with your opinion, I struggled a freaking lot to comprehend what happened and how it could even turn out the way it did - sadly I have to say for me the series has ended with this season - I stayed with Q from the very beginning and since his journey ended so has mine - to me he was the main protagonist of this series and whatever comes after him I dont care (this is just my personal opinion). One reason why they showed us Eliot's whole mental journey might be to draw back on it in the seasons to come - why not let the Queliot stans (and Eliot) suffer more? ;_;

As sad as it is it just shows how beautiful the show is. I've never related and felt so deeply about a show and Quentins death was a huge emotional ride. Just shows that not everything can be happy and go how everyone wants and I respect their choices in the show. After all they are telling this story and there are so many points people can feel and relate to. I wanted to see them happy but it is what it is. It hurts but this show hasn't ever let me down.
Also in regards to your comment on the description of why have him protect eliot and what not. It's no different then when he kept trying to save and protect Alice even though she didn't want him to. Q does battle with depression so in a way he has very little thought on what may happen to him because as long as he protects all those he loves he would do what he could. Also the monster did kind of just choose to take Quentin and there isnt much they could do to get away from something so powerful and he was making sure no harm came to Eliot, for his own and Margos sake I'm sure. They've all gone through a lot and would go through much morrle for one another.

quentin fucking died before eliot could tell him and its the only reason ive cried in the past months. the last time they actually talked was after peaches and plums and eliot told him no and then realized quentin was real about what he said and it was too late to say anything and then quentin died getting eliot back without ever seeing him again.

I just finished season 4 one min ago and I’m not happy. I am actually crying so much right now. The ending was not fair and I’m angry about it.
That is what is so beautiful about the ending of season 4. It's not fair and it's not ok and I'm hurt and sad and angry but that is life. Life is amazing and beautiful and filled with love but sometimes its ugly and sad and unfair. Life doesn't turn out the way we want all the time, tragedy happens and takes away the beauty of life. The season ending was a cruel reminder of this fact.

One of the best romances I've ever seen. And I am a straight 36 yr old woman who grew up Disney and princes and princesses and halllmark straight romances and movies like the notebook.
