@@Morte3522 I honestly found it to be psychological horror enough. Horror never has to be in your face. The games never deliberately included anything graphic, and the atari style mini games don't count because it... was not graphic at all. When there's no true visual, people's minds wander and can ultimate create and/or remember something much worse than what it actually is/was. Gore and violence isn't all the horror there is.

One comment that i still remember was that how it explained the reason why the original 4 animatronics were scary wasn't because of some scary looking models, but in fact the opposite.
They were just regular kids animatronic. No overdone teeth, claws, bloodshot eyes or anything like that.
It was meant for kids, and the idea of these seemingly innocent group of animals graphically stuffing an alive person into metal deathtrap made them much more unsettling.
They're kids toys, so when they don't do what we think kid toys are supposed to do, that what's make them terrifying.
That's a wonderful explanation!
You can count on a monster to act monstrous. You can count on a mascot to be friendly. When either is disobeyed, we have a pause to try and understand what happened. If Nightmare Fredbear or Springtrap rolled up to sing happy birthday, you'd be confused as shit; but you wouldn't bat an eye if Freddy or Bonnie were to do so.
Likewise, you wouldn't be confused if Nightmare Fredbear or Springtrap started breaking down your lights and doors to get to you to eat your bones; but when Freddy and Bonnie do it, you stop and horror washes over you.

And gore has practically nothing to do with scariness. It's all about tension, tone, and sound, and the FNAF movie didn't lean into that
