  • If you're thinking about starting a home based bakery then this is the video for you. I share with you 10 tips I wish I knew before starting a home based baking business. I am by no means a business expert and my video is based on anecdotal evidence from my own lived experiences as well as other experiences my fellow cookie and cake friends have gone through over the years. This video gives you a general overview of the business side of selling baked goods, but if you're looking for a more in-depth video about some of the topics I go over then please comment down below!
    If you're not looking to run your own home based bakery, then head on over to my channel for plenty of other baking and decorating tutorial videos that I have posted.

      I know that feeling all too well, just tell them that your cakes aren't frozen and your icings aren't from buckets. 🤷 Costco, ShopRite, BJ's, all those types of stores. Stores they all come pre-made nothing's really homemade anymore in supermarkets.

    I totally agree with the bakery taking over the kitchen. I almost always order out when I have an order. If not, I plan ahead to make sure my fridge is free of excess food/leftovers. I think my husband secretly likes when I have orders bcuz it gives him the opportunity to have take out. Lol

    I am considering a home bakery. My family and friends have been trying to get me to go for it. But I keep wanting to learn more before I do. I love buttercream, and have found my special talent. But I know at some point someone will ask for something I have yet to master. Fondant and sugar glass, both need work. I have never tried sugar sheet work. And would love to try some chocolate and Rice paper art work as well. Surely Buttercream Frosting isn't where it ends for me.

    Hiya! Thank you so so so much for this video it was a real help! So basically what my main objective is for starting my business is for donation purposes with 10% of sales going to charities that I am keen on supporting. My only worry is when should I adapt this into my business as I am unsure about sales margins cause there is no way to tell how many sales I will get in the first running, should I wait a few months until my revenue goes up so that it doesn’t limit my finance? Ah sorry for this! If anyone has any ideas please do let me know

    • @shainazion4073
      @shainazion4073 Před rokem +1

      They will only buy if they can resell at a reasonable price. If it doesn't sell, they take the loss on items not sold. That's why wholesale is less money, you sell more for less, but if you have 150 pieces twice a week at $2.00 a piece. That's $600 coming in every week, thats a nice way to start.
