#Skateboarding #Podcast #Interview - Zábava
"nobody hung out at hotrod"
Roberts: "...I hung out at hot rod"
That was hilarious lol. Made himself look like such an idiot.
🤣 Right!?
He did a lot of bitching and moaning but I understood what he meant by that. Jonah’s characters were emulating specific skaters that hung out at Brooklyn projects.
none of the OG legends portrayed in the movie hung at hotrod.. Roberts did lol
Ima tell my kids this was the Rocco episode 😂
micro christ top comment lol
That's not nice... Steve Rocco could front shuv
The day the Rocco episode drops will be a national holiday. We’re all getting the day off w/pay. Also, the episode can’t be any shorter than 8 hours...
Would love to have every person he mentioned by Dom sit down, watch it, and tell their side of it.
He's got no respect
If you actually know dom you know for a fact he spoke nothing but facts. First shop i ever went to when i started skating 23 years ago i went in got 100 bucks wasnt enough for a complete dude discounted everything just so i could have my first complete
dude was full of contradictions but i definitely appreciate someone in the industry finally having the balls to say something real about supreme and FA for once
at what point in the interview does he talk abou it
4:20
You can love or hate the guy but you can't deny that this was an entertaining episode. It's just a guy who is being himself, accept and respect it.
this guy makes me wanna go buy a shop deck from hotrod skateshop.
SpaceIsThePlace I don’t agree with his shop deck philosophy. Buying shop decks support the small shops that are being overrun and put out of business by the chain stores.
@@jrodgers211 you may not agree but how many shoes do have you owned?
Honestly don’t see how not selling shop decks is a sign of integrity. If shop decks help support a local shop, is that not good for the local skate scene, the shop itself, and skateboarding in general? I understand the issue of selling pretty much only shop decks like he said, but I don’t see an issue with having a selection of shop decks to help support the shop and give people a more affordable option.
Exactly.
For sure
Right, I don't think it's a big deal if you're carrying and pushing other core brands. My local shop sells shop decks, but only once in a while. Not to mention they only take up a very small portion of the board wall, and come from a good woodshop so it's not like they're below average quality or anything like that
He literally said carrying shop boards is fine when you’re still selling majority pro models. He’d rather just support the pros and sustain his shop in other ways. It’s integrity for the skate community and the riders who push these brands and make hardly anything for the amount of work they do
I back shop boards 100% as somebody who goes through decks twice a month and skates almost everyday. I see what he's saying though. There needs to be a renaissance in skating like it was in the early to mid 2000s
3:18:23 worth of name-dropping.
"It does but, not enough brands ar... not enough brands are smart enough to.... you're drinking milk?! Is that milk?"
Laughed so hard at that part
Crazy how brands just don't try to promote 40-year-old guys who used to ride for the team instead of trying to make their younger and current riders more popular.
This dude seems like a great guy. I wouldn't say he's "full of contradictions", he's just filled with a multitude of perspectives that many don't have because not many have his level of experience. Great choice of a guest to help us learn more about skatehistory.
Dom got story for days... this was a great listen on a flight back home.. keep up the good work fellas
I really like his friend calling him out for getting some dome from little dude's mom while he sits outside. If you want to do that, go meet up afterwards. Not while little man sits out in the shop waiting for mom to get done "talking with Dom in his office".
Roger puts his finger over his mouth when he tries not to laugh at Justin Bieber talk. Hahaha
Thanks for bringing
Don on for a full episode! I love the industry interviews, we are full of all sorts of stories.
This was special. My guy said Bieber does more for the culture than Supreme.
@@capo_di_capi i remember when yall said that in 2010
Rog had to look away after that comment
Street wear hypelord shit IS NOT skateboarding culture, at least not the kind I'll ever buy into.
Nothing but name drops and self props
Yeah if you want have a negative outlook on it. I thought this look into the industry was super interesting, so did eveyone on the 9 club. It was funny when he asked Kelly if he was drinking milk. Many people are crying about this interview but I thought it was great.
@Alexander Keown you don't know shit about the real world mate.. Dom is a fucking OG legend..
Hard not to name drop when you surround yourself with famous people.
Love people who are frank and say what they really think. An incredibly informative episode!
Support your favorite skater, buy your favorite skater's pro board. Support your local skateshop. Shout out to Skatestore Amsterdam, you rule.
it's gonna take 3 plus hours to pick up all those names he just dropped. great episode!
Could you imagine a conversation between this dude and Reda?
Holy shit!! My son watches BLIPPI here on the tube.... he goes to Brooklyn Projects shop, sets up a board and rides the mini ramp in the back with Sean White!!! Hell Yeah!!
Love it Dom! great show guys!
Again, I love "industry" people interviews, some insider's story are the best. You can see some aspects of a certain culture as whole. And they aren't afraid to talk about politics, marketings, connections, sponsors, inside "jokes". You can learn a lot from it.
That jason dill photo in the background on the wall tho
This membership stuff is dope
Thanks for the support!!!
I agree
@@thenineclub what do I get if I join?
@@therealwewin it just depends on what membership you want. if you want to subscribe to a membership it'll tell you all the perks but you have to actually go and read it
Luv the biz related guests!
I needed this one.
I love this episode soooo much.
Never thought I'd hear a Kenosha, WI shoutout on here. Thanks Dom!
Haha damn, that pig slaughtering metaphor is the best shit I’ve heard.Thank you nine club for always bringing the most real, down to earth guests on the show. It’s always the ones I haven’t heard of that I learn the most from!
Another awesome F!!king episode! Keep it coming 🤘🏼🤘🏼
name dropped HUMIDITY!!!!!!!!
dave jinx the best thing about humidity and philly. They’re always giving back to skateboarding. If philly notices he has a stock of dead boards that aren’t selling he will do a scavenger hunt around New Orleans with some of the product that isn’t necessarily selling to bring attention and people into the shop. Love them for that!
@@Ramboskates85 nothing but love for Philly and all he does for New Orleans
Shout out to Chris at Passion Board Shop in Eau Claire, WI and Nate at EduSkate in Cedar Rapids, IA!! Sincerest thanks to two of the BEST dudes!
Amazing episode!!
Can you imagine if the 9 club was here around 2010 about the same time the berrics dropped? We'd be hearing insane blunt stories lol 😂
We need Nine Club beer glasses!
Been waiting a long time for a full episode with Dom, going to be a good one
I want a full P-Rod and Full Torey Pudwill episode..
@@jemiiam 🤔
This is valuable business knowledge these guys are sharing.
I went to brooklyn projects while traveling to LA, great shop!
hardest episode to watch.
What made it hard to watch has him saying I'm talking shit most of the time
Juicy interview had watched for a couple days to fully take in what dom says
Dom has an awesome perspective on life. Awesome episode. 🙏
Gotta love the metal heads!! Great one!
1:07:50 "What club was it, the Tunnel? " lollllllllllllllllll well played crob
Onyx cormega and papoose got a track called the tunnel check it out it's that lyrical medicine for the mind
Another super interesting guest. Great episode guys.
Insightful episode
this wassssss sooooooo good.
I need a couple Hi-Fi Hops with this...
Arlo eisenburg drop yes! Grew up at the lock ins at his park in Dallas. Best memories ever. Back when skateboarding was a scourge in Texas
Also that beebs reference and rajs face. Love you guys to the moon. Skateboardings in a good place with these cats keeping the lore alive!!!
Blank boards bring the cost of skating down for the average person. I remember when I was a teenager getting upset when I'd break a board b/c they cost so much.
The only BMX DeLuca I remember from the 80s was Dino DeLuca, maybe he was a cuz lol
Going go buy something at his shop support this guy....Washed up 49 year old drunk here....And you need James Kelch on the show,,,,Best guy at EMB back in the day.....
My god this was an educational Journey. Things were definitely addressed here. Again,..thank you all @The9!!! Please, STEVE ROCCO EPISODE 200!!!!!!
It sounds like the nine club need to have a Saving Private Ryan viewing party.
yeah that blew my mind...fuck!
1000% with kelly ....kareem time on the nine club would be amazing 🤘❤🤘
This episode has it all.
I loved when they started talking about that skating life
turning out to be a great episode.
Good Episode.
One love. Nine Club.
Roge(Rog?) came correct with the Uprise Mug!
Oh man Arlo Eisenberg, I haven't heard that name in years! His skatepark was the only local skatepark for years, fuckin grew up there. I just remember him from Roller Bladder Hunter in Big Brother.
Great episode Dom seems like a pretty cool cat and he grew up in a great era with great music and great skateboarding gen x respect 😎🤘
Cinderella 🤘
Super interesting, so much industry insight. I'd like to hear what other skate shops around the globe have to say about that, if they agree or disagree, or what ever.
Got to work; gave this episode another shot. He like me has made many mistakes but can’t knock his hustle and determination!#2ndChance#🛹#BrooklynProjects@thenineclub
Sick episode Dom’s got some real interesting insights on everything
Dom is the man
Shoutout blacksheep!
DOM is a fucking boss !! Such a nice fucking guy in person!! A fucking living legend!!
So good! Just finished the whole podcast. Great stuff!
"I feel like i'm the guy who can hit that grand slam, but I haven't gotten the right pitch" - Brooklyn Dom
A very enjoyable Nine Club! The history and aging of any nature has aside to its story. It should be told.
Best one yet boys! Keep up the good work. You got me to drop in at the skate park today for the first time in over a decade
Dude fuck yes
Industry episodes are the best!!!
This was a dope interview.
Always love to hear the specials
Buy your local shop decks ladies and gents. It’s what keeps them in business.
I'll buy whatever I can afford at the time.
It's what keeps me skating.
Brand name decks normally cost at least $100 (usually more) here in Australia. So I usually go with whatever is cheapest at the time which is usually a shop board. Sometimes you might find blind or darkstar board in the bargain bin. Haha
we need an updated interview after the pandemic how to have a shop
thanks for having a shop owner on... Super fascinating....
Whale 🐳 we are back huh?
I've been waiting for someone to address that painted resin Asuka.
You just did
@@USA-nw7cf I meant a host or guest.
This guys is a contradiction, hates supreme but loves Justin Bieber LMFAOO
That’s what I’m saying. We need skate shops not this online bullshit. Authentic skaters in it’s organic environment. This over priced shit isn’t skating. Dom you have the mind of a Genius. Thanks for putting this out into the world hopefully it makes an impact. Thanks nine club. You guys keep skating real!!
Hunt Supply Co. Board on the wall. Appreciate the support! Much love from Tennessee
what a legend
Loved his straight up attitude. Too many fake dudes in industry. His opinions on supreme are spot on. They wanna act like an underground skate shop but do nothing a skate shop does or sells. Didn’t have a team till 2010 since of team in 90s. But have this cool guy attitude when their customers now are same as obey and Huf Diamond. Skaters are one of most snobby crowds now all whos the most coo or pure.
MIKE KILROY Yooo when you gonna start posting again? Shit I kept myself up to date with your vids
Don’t slack! Keep going!
I purposefully seek out all black shoes. My favorite were the all black suede Vans chukka boot. I wish those came back. 🙏
god bless this dude
what's up with the shop?please restock.
This episode was so good!
I wish this was longer
Ayyy Lawrence, KS
i watched this like 6 times
Dom deluca is a legend..i learn alot ftom these episode... "Do it for skateboarding" dom deluca quote🤛🤘🤘😃
Fuct had legit graphics
STILL DOES ! Best clothing company still around !!
My first board was a fuct
My sister turned my fuct logo tee into a crop top :(
Can we get the original switch flip switch manny clip back? It’s hard to watch a drawing for the whole episode
DeLuca the Bazooka!
Hell yeah Rip city on Santa Monica was an awesome skateshop
