What If Humans Tried To Land On Saturn

- In 2017, NASA’s Cassini probe sent us our closest view of Saturn to date. If you wanted to take a closer look at the ringed planet, you would have to travel 1.2 billion kilometers... but the long journey would be the least of your worries. Once there, you'd realize there’s no solid surface to land on and descend through dangerous electrical currents, deadly winds, and unthinkable pressure. If you could somehow make it through all of that, then a blistering hot core made of iron and nickel awaits you at the planet’s center-along with a surprise, as scientists have yet to discover whether Saturn’s core is liquid or solid. So maybe it’s best we leave Saturn exploration to uncrewed probes after all.

When I was a kid, I thought you can walk on its ring like an enormous race track.
When I was a kid , I thought that planets were countries lol
@@ilovearcticmonkeys123 LOL XD
@@ilovearcticmonkeys123 SAME, I thought Jupiter was USA or something and that we'd have to ride space ships to go to the country 😂
@@ilovearcticmonkeys123 brush I thought certain places in England were different countries
When i was a kid, I thought gas giants were made of water colors. I mean, just look closely at Jupiter, Saturn and other gas giants. Its looks make a beautiful watercolor painting
Short Answer: You’d die
Long Answer: You’d _still_ die, but here’s how

@Levi Hames that was just a joke idiot u just did an r/whoooosh
There's an advance civilization on Saturn they created those obstacles to keep out visitors
- my dad works for Epic
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I use Epic for school if that’s what your talking about
@JynxTheLynx wow very funny
totally funny
very funny look how much im laughing
(its not funny)
Well that cannot be since saturn is made of gas
Edit i kinda don't care that i get woooshed
I wish that was the case 😂 it'd be a lot more interesting than just a gas planet .
Landing on Jupiter is just trying to find the surface of a fart
Yes
true
The fact that we know so much about them and we haven't even set foot there makes me wonder how brilliant these human species are!!!
Or how full of shit

Can u do a series on this with other planets as well?
A series about this would be pointless. There are two possible outcomes if you tried to land on a planet in our solar system. If you were to attempt to land on one of the four inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars), nothing remarkable would happen at all. You would land on the surface of the planet. If you were to attempt to land on one of the four outer planets, you wouldn't because they don't even have a surface. They're just balls of gas going around an even bigger ball of gas. You'd be vaporized within the first few minutes of entering the atmosphere.
@@kermitthemutantlevitatingf7836 but it’s cool to learn about what materials are inside these planets.
Basically if you try to land on any of the other planets in the solar system other than earth you’re ass is gonna die one way or another LOL

BS, between the extreme heats and the acid rains, it would be very interesting to see a simulation. 🙄😒

Oryx: “Get the hell out of my rings.”
1:12 that scared me!
Animation is just amazing ❤️ keep posting guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can't stop watching these space videos anymore
2:10 makes me think... what if other planets we know of once had rings as well
I think it was Uranus that has a tiny set of rings
earth had rings when a planet mars sized hit the earth like 4.3 billion years ago, it made material fly away that made rings and then it started forming on the moon
All of the gas planets have rings
Obviously we would die like the other 99 videos
You guys are my science teacher now and I just watch your random videos and thank you for teaching me 😊
2:24 When she said 'North Pole' I thought she would mention the Hexagonal Storm.
Aight i love this channel already i learnt a lot more than my lesson XD
"What If Humans Tried To Land On Saturn?" - they'd have to bring their own buckets filled up with dirt to try it out.

I liked how hopeful they are.
Me watches this video and starts imagining me in there
..
Just the video is over, I am down to Earth
When ppl say it could fit 760 earths do they mean the volume of saturn divided by the volume of the earth=~760earths or do they mean it like if saturn was a jar and if there was space in bettween the multiple earths?
Insane properties of chaotic proportions wow
When I was a kid I always love this planet, and now I'm an adult I still interested by this planet
The numbers are stunning

Everybody: WAIT BUT THATS ILLEGAL!
Always respect Camera man!!
4:38 can you use something els other then bandaids
Sounds like a fun adventure
8 YEARS?!!! man are planets really that far away 😂
you really think it takes just days to reach to reach pluto
It would take over 9years to get to Pluto lol. it's 3bill miles away from earth
What did you think lol. That those giant planets that could easily engulf earth are right next door??
Seems like someone watches too much Movies Lmfao
@AmericanNamedAxel Look for voyager 1 probe where it is right now and time elapsed since his launch in 1977
No way will I go down Saturn. Great to look at from a distance though. I did read somewhere that Saturn's density is so small the planet could actually float on water
Good one
Carl Sagan narrating this would of really hit the spot- R.I.P.
I don’t think I’ve ever believed anyone can land on a planets rings.
Yeah but some people, you know... 🤷♀️
Thank you for using metric
Sounds like the best adventure ever!! I’m gonna grab some dirt from Earth and go on vacation to Saturn!!
ahhhh
how to survive Saturn 101: rlly fast space station in the atmosphere
My favorite television series currently airing new episodes is CW's The 100. It's on its finale Season right now, and recently it was revealed 1 of 5 planets that humans colonized was 1 similar to Saturn in that it has a ring surrounding it.
I watched up to season 3. All I remember is prisoners coming to earth before the show ended. R the next seasons good?
@@xeno1912: in my opinion, Season 3 is the worst, but Season 4 is my 2nd favorite (Season 2 is my favorite), Season 5 is ok, Season 6 is good, and so far Season 7 is really good. I don't want to spoil too much since a lot has happened since Season 3, but if you have Netflix I'd recommend binge watching Seasons 3 through 6 before watching 7.
You can't...
*Case closed*
Kinda mad we couldn’t ever land on the rings or the planet but like.. so interesting!!
Image 300 million years that didn't see that ring, we are lucky to see that ring in this years
I love ur voice!!!
It's scary and interesting that, although we cannot get inside or go too much near , we know so much about all these celestial body
This really has to be explained
If the core is solid, wouldn't that mean Saturn *does* have a surface, and isn't a gas giant after all? And what about all the liquid?
The cartoon is so funny & adorable
We would just land on titan and it does the job 🤣😂
3:06 btw as you know, saturn is mostly hydrogen, and thus the aurora would glow red/pink, and all the gas giants produce the aurora in same colors, and the green glowy color makes on earth aurora is actually the nitrogen that collides with solar winds and glow green, with little bit of glowy of red/yellow from oxygen
5:57 rip ⚰️
You guys should do videos about the other planets.
You mean Cartoon
MsThor1 I guess that’s basically the same thing.
That looks fun 😉😉
These stuffs Interested me........
So how do warframes get on Saturn
Would be awesome to land a type of satellite on one of the larger ice asteroids...something that could relay the beauty of the planet and the area....
Glowing clear does not affect the rings around it we get that very low gravity of you jumping 1.6 feat
We are truly blessed to be earthlings , to live on this great wonder, and not out there.
Quite strange, if gas giant planet atmosphere pressure is so high, how come you can dive into it? Because of very high pressure, you can only float at the surface, like floating on a water surface.
Awesomeness.
We should take ice sample from Saturn's ring and use a microscope to see if we find anything interesting like a potential alien life
At a minuscule level!
I used to wonder as a kid thinking can u go through Saturn and out of it if you choose a perpendicular entry point ? 🤔
Interesting 🙂
Saturn is my favorite planet!! My dream is to live there someday!
Out Of Context: Dora Goes To Saturn And Dies.
When I saw the heavy hail inside of Saturn I thought the hail in summer for me was bad
The comment about the width of the rings caught me off guard.....I thought you could fit all the planets end-to-end between earth and the moon?
got some kurzgesagt vibes in this! i like
Except they forgot to replicate any of the good things you get with kurzgesagt videos...
@@ohtheblah look at the credit, it's only 1 animator, i agree though, the bar set by kurzgesagt videos is pretty hard to surpass, but anything in that direction is better than powerpoint or other low effort animation.
I like how the spaceship is the SpaceX Starship
Damn, so.... Saturn's just a big ol' tease.
And you thought that there’s monster scream but actually saturn’s sounds scary
That would be crazy if we found out Earth had Rings
but if ring width is moon to earth, how about statement about moon to earth can fit all planet and sun
Their might even be sea life like small organisms it is unlikely but interesting
Has any planet in our proximity lost their rings?
Maybe
2:39 they are digging through spacetime
1:01 how can Saturns rings be wide enough to cover the distance between earth and moon. All 9 planets stacked edge to edge fit inside the moons orbit of earth
-234 km troposphere -167 km powerful winds
Yay!
3:40 i love this smell
At 00:58 seems wrong. I believe that it is the entire diameter of the ring (outside edge to outside edge) that is almost as far as the distance from earth to the moon. Something like 170,000 to 180,000 miles, while earth to moon is around 240,000 miles. It occurred to me since you can fit all the planets in the solar system between earth and the moon at it's furthest point, but you clearly can not fit all the planets into the width of the band of the ring. I believe the 12 million km circumference is wrong as well. I am also suspicious that there are other inaccuracies in this that should probably be addressed...
im sad that there cant be a futuristic place until i live, we all could work to make it to a planet with solid ring and somehow find newer kinds of physics and probably other living beings and ourselfs in the parallel universe, and have a darling in the franxx kind of a setting
5:07 I see a moving road
But what about landing on one of its major large moons (edit: mimas enceladus tethys dione Iapetus witch is me rhea and titan) including hyperion? Like the most famous one Titan or Rhea or at least do mimas its close enough
Good question
@@318intime3 yeah and the closest major moon enough is mimas so the ship should at least land there
dude your gonna hit the build limit if you go try to go to saturn
