It's an update! They aren't pretending to give new information, they're merely letting people know that they're still working on it, and what has been done recently. It's an ongoing investigation, they can't just give out everything they know while they're still working out what is true and what isn't.

The most devastating thing for this church or any church is when the Senior pastor suddenly leaves. Care has to be given to the congregation. They have lost their shepherd. Many churches do not handle transitions well and some will leave the church because of this. However those that stay need to be cared for. Also just talk to the congregation openly and honestly. You do not have to run the cameras to talk about this. Make the people who come in person the priority.
If their shepherd was a man then they need to find the True Shepherd.

I think it's just a wise thing for right now. But I think it's good that they are making sure also that they are not saying guilt until I full independent investigation looks into it. Even if you're pretty sure they are guilty, you have to do the right thing by having an independent investigation.
The biggest confusion is... why put the entire church and whole body who are watching this, through such mass-scale chaos and psychological stress with such endless 6-week+ insane drama and literal B.S. of allegations and unknown allegations and potential investigations and potential allegations of some sleazy affairs going down 25 yrs ago to be examined !?! How much is this whole circus costing in total fees, bills, payouts, settlements, compensation, et al ?!?

The allegations are serious and for them to remain silent & not come forward puts to question their validity. I can’t imagine such heavy accusations coming against anyone making comments and them being ok with no one stepping forward to show the evidence. One of the so called 8 accused has already publicly said this is false she never was harassed. There’s definitely more to this than what seems apparent. I am open to believing there are real true victims here, but scripture even says to bring the evidence

personally we never watched bickle or his teachings but we really liked the worship sessions on tv and at a local house of prayer we attended. Feel sad if that would not be available to the world after all those years 😖😟

My question is this, why if no 3rd party investigation is complete, why completely cut Mike off before it’s done? Also where is the “restoring one in the spirit of Meekness”. Not a word on a biblical process of restoring him. Just cut and run, BEFORE a conclusion has come from a 3rd party. Very disappointed that the standard of restoring a fallen brother has been completed ignored.

4 months after allegations came out. "The soon allegations can be addressed, the more trauma can be avoided". Why didn't you just address it correctly at the very start?
How do they address allegations if they don't what's happening? Four months have been filled with investigations, trying to parse lies from truth - it's not like they've been doing nothing for those four months.
If they had spoken about it when it first happened, I don't know what they would have been able to say?

@@morningjewel yesterday was the first time they gave any kind of an "hey sorry" to the victims. This should of happened awhile ago. So no, they didnt do much of anything correctly. They knew enough to permenantly seperate from Bickle but still never said anything to victims. Very sad. Shows more concern for themselves.

I understand not saying anything at first cause you have to be sure it's substantial but I guess- trying to level headed in this- just because they haven't done things in what we consider the correct order, doesn't mean that all they've done is to be thrown out.
Being on the outside, it's hard to understand just how hard it is to process (mentally, emotionally, business-wise) these things. As a SA victim in my past, I understand the depths and hurts that are being walked out.

It is usually helpful when trying to minimize the number of allegations "statistically speaking" to also express a belief that one is too many. What he did was the equivalent of saying 12 children were murdered in NYC today, but in a city of 8 million people, it really isn't much.

Outside investigator has been named in previous. I do not remember the name, but if you will go back through past posts, you will find it. There is no lack of transparency on this.
IHOP employed Lathrop GPM as their "independent " investigator but in any of these announcements, they always leave out that the victim(s) lawyers have already stated why this isn't an appropriate law firm to handle this case.
Apparently Lathrop is a defense law firm that works for religious and corporate institutions to help them handle allegations - which isn't a truly unbiased investigator to use in this scenario. You can find a fuller explanation in the statement on Boz Law's website in their News section from Dec 16, 2023.
I'm not sure why IHOP isn't taking this into account in their selection...but it does make me doubt that they are truly interested in an independent investigation.

To Musicrme46, those are pretty serious allegations. Mathew 18 says to go to them, with witnesses if necessary, and if they don't listen, go to the church. It doesn't seem like that has been done.

IIRC, they did, and it was not an independent inspector, but one with ties to someone on their side of. In other words, someone who was not independent.
Absolutely not. According to Misty Edwards and multiple other Jane Does, they've been questioned 3 times. The advocate group has behaved like they're blackmailing ihopkc. When you make an accusation, you can not strong arm the accused into obeying your commands. They should not be dictating their course of action, then saying, "No, not like that. Nope, not like that. No, not like that." to everything they try to do.

If the Advocate Group and those they represent refuse to communicate, then the charges must be weak. They can either agree immediately to interviews or drop it and move on. That seems a common sense approach. The Advocate Group has been acting suspicious from the beginning. What ever happened to the biblical approach of taking these kind of things before the church? The Advocate Group rushed to the media in an online presence from the get go; not biblical.
Or . . . we are hearing only one side of what is being said behind closed doors and the advocate group sees through this convoluted approach that only has IHOP's best interests at heart. Someone needs to stand for the women. Hence, advocate.

Shocked as am thought I was getting IHOPKC update on MB only to find out someone made a video and videos mercilessly slam MB, I turned it right off, and since then so many videos popped up all about their opinions concerning someone they know as victim of the allegations, subtitiles are hard to miss but I refused to view, felt like a big time gossip among the Christians and further more hurts or anger. I have been involved in sexual misconduct investigation and absolutely zip mouth no talk with uninvolved people nor talking about it outside, the offender get angry and started bad mouthing and spread rumors to get people to stand on his side. Some times the case would be the victim also didn't have the right motive as well due to personal struggles with purity of mind and imagination issues that acted out in a momentary of weakness. so these are all details to consider in the investigation. And sometimes the offender has no repented of that but the victims still struggles. So there's a lot of aspects involved, God want his believers to walk out salvation in fear and trembling, and restoration is more important than spreading words around when you are not the party being asked to investigate.

The alleged victims and the Advocate Group did not agree with the selection of this investigator, so they refused to cooperate. The investigator they wanted was from a law firm that is actually representing one of the alleged victims, so it is not independent.
There’s not such thing as victims, no where in the Bible does it say to have sec with leaders. They are victims of the devil for not following Gods commandments

The women who participated in any kind of misconduct is just as guilt as anybody else let’s just be real unless someone was forcibly made to do something wrong. It is instead of a sacred, fiduciary trust between a spiritual leader and one under their care.

So the foundation for the accusations is a letter filled with lies, which is Satan, yet not one of these "investigators" sees a thing wrong with it. It's called deception. It's called TRUTH - that same TRUTH that sets people FREE! These leaders are not interested in the truth. Their previous investigation resulted in them believing the victims, and now this? They are paying for an "unbiased" investigation conducted by ONE person? Hmmm . . . no conflict of interests there. For all we know, she is in a relationship with him, too! This is a cover-up happening right underneath deniers' noses, a cover-up where if successful, potentially aids and abets future victimization of the vulnerable.
