If you can't afford wigs/weaves then you can invest in scarves and enjoy doing different styles. Keeps your hair and scalp covered while still having access to take care of it.

eatjinskookie synthetic wigs. There are some nice looking ones these days that are affordable. I’m about to join team wig because I need my hair protected
i would just try to find just one high quality wig u could see yourself wearing all the time. i think it's a good investment
12 inches in one year is possible . My hair grew 5 and a half inches in 6 months so I honestly believe you and I can’t wait to be completely natural 😩 currently transitioning

I noticed that the naturalistas who wear their hair protected, up off their shoulders and ends tucked in, have the most growth. The ones who wear twist outs, braid outs are 2nd place because of the shoulder rubbing . Then the ones who do wash n goes are 3rd.

I have 4 type hair, wash and goes dry my hair out. I cornrows it and wear wigs and my hair has been flourishing. I deep condition every week. So good
@Winter Bleu I deep condition weekly and then cornrow and sew my wig down. I wear kinky curly and do the flipover method. Every sat or Sunday I do my hair
Not all check out Mariam Hampton...there are also others...just keep your hair moisturized and deep conditioned on a regular basis and you can wear it down

lol that's exactly what I did to grow my hair to waist length twice ✌🏾. It was just that simple and everyone I know thinks that I have some type of 👽 gene inside of me 😂. I'm sitting here like "no, I just don't touch my hair as much as you do while I'm in the zone." It's my 4step combo: wash/detangle, moisturize, braid it up, slap on a wing! Repeat 1-2x a month and you will retain all of your length. I did this on transitioning hair the first time and on fully natural hair this time around. It's my holy grail.
LaTreviete Hawley you give me hope. I wasn't afraid of cutting my dead ends but I finally did it. My hair is bras strap length so hopefully I will be full mid back length soon.
Iamblessed 1993 I'm glad I could help. Btw i twist and/or braid not cornrow! Now that my hair is 2" from tailbone length my natural curls love to tangle really bad whenever I try to cornrow while my hair is in its natural state 😣. So no cornrows for me unless I do curl formers or straighten my hair. I hope that helps😊.

Chicken n Cheese sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure if they are good for you, but what I will say is that they are great for a quick go to style and it's less harsh on your hair. Just make sure you moisturized your hair.... some need it more often than others, I would say don't go any longer than 4days without at least using water and a oil or butter to seal. Hope that helps!

I think it goes without saying that this individual can grow her hair to 12 inches in a year because that is her genetics. I do exactly what her 3 tips are. I shampoo and condition my hair once a week, braid it up and leave it alone until the next wash day. I don't use heat and I don't dye my hair, but my hair grows on average 6 inches a year. So, don't let this get your hopes up people.
Maybe what youre doing isnt working for your hair. Just become someones routine works for them doesn't really mean itll work the same way for you. There are alot of factors: hair porosity, density, strand thick thickness etc. That determine what youre hair really needs maybe you just need to give your hair more and change your routine.
I wash every two weeks that may help you

that's exactly what I'm doing. I got into makeup and wigs. I deep condition once a week. protein treatment once a month...moisturize once or twice a week and I've gotten about two inches of growth in 3 months just from leaving my hair alone. i keep it twisted or braided under wigs. great video! I agree with everything you said.

Make sure you don’t have split ends because they can take out your new growth hair and you won’t be able to retain that hair because it’s splitting itself.

Me too, but I started using rice water and my hair GREW hun. Also moisturize with some water daily. Just spray some water on your hair in the morning and that's good to go!
Love the hair but fun facts....haor naturally grows 1" per month and all we have to do is stop it from breaking off. That's really the key

Genetics doesn't determine hair growth, but hair texture.

@@vlone.8437 for ALL cases your genetics determine it, the same way they determine everything else. The only thing you can do is hamper it, enhance it, mistreat it and break it off or care it and retain length. Also, the same way we don't always look like our parents means that their hair may grow quickly but yours slowly, although that is unlikely. But if your hair grows at .5 inches per month you cannot make it grow as much as an inch, the same way you can't change your eye colour. It's just the way genetics works.

If you need help getting more volume on your roots look a Cantu set that has a mud mask a giant tube of mask and a special comb that you use on your roots to lift them

Chicken n Cheese when I was a teenager, I started to hate my hair volume because it was thick and made it less manageable. This led to me not taking care of my hair and I started losing it. Then I started taking care of my hair and now thickness is restoring. And now I love my volume. So please learn from my mistake and love what you have got.

I'm wearing wigs as a protective style. Edges are thinning. How do you stop that? I wash my hair once a week. Use olive oil protein. And i put jamaican black castor oil on my scalp every night before bed and grease edges and scalp with hair grease every morning. Help. Don't want to give up my wigs!

Very true. Before I ever started dying my hair it would seriously be up in buns all the time bc I was lazy too. Before I left the house I would either run my hair under the shower or spritz with an oily water mix spray bottle. My hair grew so fast, and people would ALWAYS ask me what I did to make it grow, and I never had answer bc I seriously did nothing!

The point is whatever your hair growth potential is.... you can reach it by following these tips. You may not know how much ur hair can truly grow if it's constantly breaking off.

But you left out the most i.portant tip which is you CUT your hair! 💇That should be number one. Hair gtowth occurs when split ends are removed and the hair cuticle is sealed over a long period of time. Good products seal hair cuticled as well as protective styling like braids and buns. Thats why your hair grew! 😉 I loved your upbeat delivery!

I know my hair it’s growing but idk why I just can’t stop dying my hair I still want it to get healthy but I just try going 2 months without dying it so I can give it a break and I moisturize my hair more and also try to trim my hair 5-8 weeks

Your hair grows 1 to 2 inches a month if it's healthy so your hair could easily be 12 inches in a year.
Actually it usually grows 1/2 an inch to an inch and it's all about retention so it's kinda hard to grow at least for my hair
