Sorry this is bullshit. Im modern arnis you have tapi tapi where you block simultaniously against the hand. Blocking the hand or the lower part of the stick are 2 sides of the same coin.
What you describe is for a complete beginner Level. In advanced Level No one in modern arnis follows that prayer blocking First and Than grabbing.
