  • We were up early to travel to the National Motorcycle Museum near the NEC in England to support Dave day - 8th June 2024.
We arrived just after 9am to find thousands of motorcyclists had already arrived with hundreds more arriving every few minutes.
It really was the right place for us to be to support this fantastic event and remember Dave with Si, 1000s of riders and others like ourselves who don’t ride a motorcycle. I even got to say hello to Si and give him one of my homemade Dave day badges. I watched as he did selfie after selfie, always with a smile and a warm welcome for everyone…so nice to see.
Dave day had been conceived and planned by close friends and family to celebrate and remember Dave Myers who sadly passed away earlier this year. The plan was to invite anyone who wanted to support the day to join in a motorcycle ride from London to Barrow in Furness (Dave’s home town). Riders could ride the whole route or join/leave at any point, with the remembrance procession culminating in Barrow Town Centre, where there would be a service of remembrance and free family entertainment.
Dave and Si King have been a much loved celebrity chefs known as the ‘Hairy Bikers’ on our TVs since 2004.
    The route and timetable:
    0700 - 0800 Ace Cafe London
    0900 - 0930 Welcome Break Oxford
    1045 - 1115 Motor Cycle Museum Solihull
    1240 - 1300 Moto Services Knutsford
    1430 - 1500 Cafe Ambro Junction 36/M6
1545 Town Hall Barrow in Furness
