Everything in the world is interconnected. The emergence of Russia should be associated with the attack of Muslims on the Iberian Peninsula. Thus, in the 8th century, the maritime trade route from Europe to the Middle East was blocked. The Scandinavians found a workaround by rafting on the rivers of the Russian plain. There were two routes, from the Varangians to the Greeks, and also from the Varangians to Persia. Thus, there are three main economic centers of Russia, this is Novgorod - the beginning of the journey, Kiev on the way to the Greeks and Vladimir (and then Moscow) on the way to Persia. With the victory of the Reconquista, the trade route to Greece lost its importance, which led to a sharp reduction in trade flows through Kiev and the loss of Kiev's importance. While the trade route to Persia was still relevant. As for the confluence of the Volga and the Oka, the Russians could not put a fortress here for a long time. It was burned by Volga Bulgaria, located downstream of the river. However, before the Mongol invasion, peace was concluded and a wooden fortress was built, which was burned down by the Mongols anyway, then the fortress was restored, then it was built from local limestone, and then from brick. Indeed, no one has ever managed to take the stone fortress by storm.
I thought they both were from Britain .Lovely city ❤
Thank you very much!
Yeah, Katya is from
Russia
The girl looks more English than the boy 😀🤔
The drone moment was funny. Interesting format. It’s too long for my taste tbh. It’s a beautiful city. I’ll watch the whole vid when I have the time. Other channels never show this city.
Thank you a lot for your nice comment and feedback. We are just testing different formats.
🔥🔥🔥 I love you guys
❤️❤️❤️
You will definitely get a distorted understanding of Russia and its history if Katya is the guide and lecturer. She does not know the history of Russia, grew up and was brought up more on the American cultural product, the lost generation of the period of globalization of the liberal type in the American way. I don't judge her, most of her peers are like that, and she's a great girl.
