- In the first video on MandR Collects I open a Star Wars Black Series action figure for the first time ever! This is the Clone Trooper Holiday edition released in late 2020! I give my first impressions of how I think Star Wars Black Series Action Figures feel & look in hand/out of box!

Here’s a little tip: in order to preserve the box, open the boxes from the bottom tab as they only have 1 tape and no see through hole, which makes it easier to pull the tray out without damaging the cardboard. Also, if you peel the figure off starting with the legs, you can take the figure off the tray without ruining it so that after the review you can put it back in.
Am I the only one that realized that the candy cane was a gun

It’s not a gun, it’s the melee weapon that came with the knight of ren figure painted as a candy cane

The joints at the knees are double jointed. Sometimes you need to work the joints with warm water to get them to move smoothly.
Black Series articulation is just bad in general. Most the time with Marvel Legends and Black series double joints don’t fully work.
@@mivvy3182 They have a new knee in some of the newer figs now. I have only run into a small amount of black series with really bad articulation.

Yeah you just don't know how action figures work. You have to actually move and loosen joints to get pose-ability.

Knees and elbows have double joints and shoulders do extend out a bit (shoulder pad might hinder it a lil) and head should be able to move freely. Dont be scared to try and pose him around,these figures are pretty sturdy and are meant to be handled by kids and collectors. Cant wait to see you do more of these! 😄

I transitioned from LEGO to action figures 8 years ago and haven't looked back. I remember the first one I opened felt super weird and I didn't know how to get it to do what I wanted. You're being too gentle with it. The arms and leg joints an bend a lot more than you're getting them to bend. Once you start getting these things into some dynamic poses using the articulation you'll see the appeal.

You can actually reseal the packages, so you can take the figures out and mess with them, and then put them back in the box.

Great video dude! You should watch a video on the possibility you can push it a lot further there just stiff when you first get them.
Sideshow is the more rare and have more accessories hot toys are mostly the wider known characters.
Also a big thing with action figures like that is to heat them up so the joints aren’t that hard, that also is his gun not a cane haha, this figure gets great articulation yours is just probably cold so the joints are sticking, if you heat it up or put it in hot water it will work great!

Legs are double jointed so you can get further than that, also the arms can move outwards. Most have good articulation

I Think, the best Thing about the Black Series is Probably the different themed boxes, that They have
The legs and elbows are usually stiff when they are brand new. Heat them up with a heat gun or put in hot water and they will be much more posable. That's also an old clone body and the possibility on the new ones are much better

Yooo MandR you should definitely check out these star wars but samurai minifigures they look dope
You picked a pretty good time to get into Black Series. They're going to start reissuing some of their older figures (like Commander Cody) but updating them with better articulation. I've got the original Cody and a couple random clone troopers, and their articulation is pretty bad compared to the newer figures. They also had some nasty QC issues with brittle plastic. Somehow I snapped a storm trooper's arm off at the bicep swivel when I was bending his elbow. Oh and I also have the old scout trooper/speeder bike set, and the stand that the speeder bike attaches to broke.

Would you consider collecting G1 Transformers?
The boxes are re-sealable so you can take them out and put them back in, also, there's articulation on the whole figure, I know you said you dont want to watch any reviews but I think it would benefit your channel to have an idea of how they work. I recommend the fwoosh CZcams channel, they have great reviews

With black series you can put them back in their packaging with no problem as well as the clone is probably the least posable put of the bunch.
I have the scout trooper and his elbow moves far more.
It just depends.

Nice! You've taken your first step into a larger world. Personally, I don't see why action figures would be seen as any different than Lego sets. For 99% of us, both are just gonna sit on a shelf for the foreseeable future.
Ryan if you’re looking for sideshow and hot toys use buy sell trade Facebook groups. You can find clones, and what ever else your looking for for much cheaper

Tip: Don't worry about moving the figures limbs. They are pretty durable, and the staff is a hockey stick!

Honestly I think you should get more rough with the joints. Don’t get too too rough where you know you’ll be snapping it but like the legs, specifically the knees, are able to fold all the way back, even being able to kick their own ass. The arms are able to T-Pose too. The joints are just very tight at first, that’s why you gotta move them around to get them working properly
Probably the best black series figure that I have (I don’t have a lot, I mostly buy marvel figures) is the empire strikes back darth Vader released in 2020, and the best by far of the holiday troopers is the target exclusive Santa range trooper
You picked the old body mold, the new figures like the bad batch are 100% better
Hey just letting you know the joints are a bit stiff and get a lot more range of motion and pose ability
There’s always detense in the articulation. I would know, I’ve been collecting since 2015
If you watch a review of this figure one you tube they would show how far you can move the joint around
The staff kinda looks like one of the knights of Rens weapons- think it’s called a vibro-sythe. I don’t know tho, might be wrong but looks like it

Ok a few things
1. It is double jointed on the legs and arms so it can bend alot more then you said (just push it hard and you'll see the amazing articulation
2. I highly like REALLY HIGHLY recommend getting a s.h figuarts first order storm trooper (NOT the model kit so watch out for that) it is the best figure in the world I have a very bad review on my channel if you want to watch it so you know what to expect but I recommend you watch someone else's review. But please get it you won't regret it I promise

That’s the Solo Maul made by Hot Toys. It’s a super detailed action figure that is about the size of a doll. It’s super cool tho but pretty expensive

The 501st trooper from that pack was on the archive poll last year so I hope that means they can reissue that pack for the archive line

Really considering getting into it, but they are not available in our country, so I gonna pass...
A lot of the time the joints have a lot more poseability than it seems, they just stat off quite stiff and you need to work them a little to get them to move more, you may find it helpful to watch other peoples videos on the figures so you can see how far you can move them without accidentally breaking your own
Obviously this is a video of your first experience with a figure and watching other people looking at them would make the experience very different
These Christmas figures made me think HASBRO is copying Lego too much.. I mean I love black series I’ve got over 90 of them, but no novelty ones
