I was told I am a hoarder and I need to throw away my food that I don’t eat lol. At the end of the day I am prepping 😂 I have small kids and I will make sure they don’t go hungry.
Y daughter says the same about me
I do add clove to it and it not just parasite killer but gives a WONDERFULL FLAVOR to it too.
greetings from Europe
Add a clove to apple pie filling or the peel cider!?
I have a small orchard here at my house in Wisconsin. This has been my most productive year ever with both apple size and quantity. I didn't even have to get up on a ladder because the low hanging were so amazing. So far I've canned 9 jars of apple butter, 7 quarts of apple pie filling, and 42 pints of applesauce. And I still have apples left over! Maybe I'll try your recipe too.
Save those peels, dehydrate and grind in to fruit powder. Excellent to add flavor to a pie or any apple dish!
I wonder if the powder from the peels would work like a thickener in another batch 🤔
Or they make terrific jelly. I kinda hurt me to see that lovely pile of peels on the floor. I hope they were at least fed to chickens or left out for the bees,...
Cool idea 💡 how to dehydrate? Just air dry?
I don’t see doing that or using the peeling 🍎 I could

@ 16:14 Dayum, you know that's a serious canner when you see a set-up like that!
Use the cores and peels to make your own organic apple cider vinegar. Add a little vinegar from a good quality unfiltered ACVl (with the mother), a little sugar or honey (1 TBLor so) and put in a clean sterilized large jar to accomodate all the cores/peels and top up with water. Put a glass or weight to keep submerged and cover with cheesecloth with a rubber band around the top. In a few weeks you have great vinegar!
not off the floor LOLOL
I made apple skin and core jelly and it was a big hit.
@@cheripierre9029 how do you make that? Sounds great!
I tried that and they molded. How do you store them?
I have tried many ways this one works easiest .. experiment it's fun ...can't loose. If you don't have any store bought here's a great recipe.
I use the cores and skins as well,
-fill a quart jar 3/4 with apple cores and skins
-add 4 tablespoons sugar or honey, -fill jar with Filtered water,
-stir well with a chop stick, ( no metal)
-cover with cheese cloth and rubber band.
-Stir vigorously every day for a week or so. I test with ph strip usually it's a 4.5. The warmer your room the faster it ferments
- strain well put into clean jar
- cover with clean cheese cloth
- wait 3 weeks to mature then cap with lid .
Enjoy😍
Love the accent, I'm from the mountains of Eastern Ky... we have the same accent with a mountain drawl... southern people the heart and soul of America!
The way you said Surp for syrup made me smile. My grandma was from the south and she would say “worsh” for wash.
Use the peels and cores to make jelly/jam.
We dehydrate the peels then grind them to powder in the blender to use to flavor tea and muffins.
thanks for suggestion !
Outstanding idea! Thanks for sharing that with us.
Throwing your “evidence” on the floor…excellent! I don’t have a lot of counter space, but I sure have a lot of empty floor around me. My apple trees are loaded with Gala, Granny Smith, red delicious, and one tree I’m not sure what it doing. It might be honeycrisp or pink lady, I’m not sure. I canned mostly apple pie filling last time, so I’ve decided to can just apples in a light syrup. I pictured a light bulb shining in a word bubble above my head lol. Dang, I’m going to start using my floor space. I’ve been canning for over 55 years when my grandma taught me after I got married, and I have never even thought of that. We learned something today, and we just subscribed. TY! And love from SoCal.
Please don’t use the floor use the sink. Easier to clean up and a lot cleaner
We use an apple peeler, slicer and corer. Saves a lot of time.
So good to listen to a Southerner, not over using 'y'all '. I'm a southern woman living now in the midwest. I still use southern words and phrases and enjoy hearing them naturally used and not forced. Think Paula Dean, who uses y'all every third word. Thanks for making me feel like I had a visit with my sister.
Save your apple peelings. Cook in water, strain juice. Use juice to make apple jelly. Delicious!
Great idea! I never would have thought of that. Thank you for sharing!🥰😇
not from off the Floor
Great idea! I love to learn new ways to make everything go further! It's new to me. Thanks!
don't know if wax coated store bought so good.
I just made apple scrap jelly for the first time yesterday evening.yummy. my neighbor gave me a box off her tree.
The peels and cores make beautiful apple clove jelly/jam
Mint apple jelly with a touch of Jalapena is great.
That looks so amazing I love apples 🍎 I appreciate your video have a blessed day
I'd love to see you using them APPLES in a few recipes.
I like your outdoor cooking setup with the propane--keeps heat out of the house!
I love this method.
Beautiful old apple tree!
I can't wait to get some apples this weekend!!

Thanks, just found your channel, I just bought half a bushel and so glad I found this video, thank you
They look wonderful.
Like the setup
U r a lifesaver!! Can I give u a hug? I have been over n hour looking for a recipe for apple lie filling that doesn't use that clear jel stuff! It can cause jars to explode bcuz it climbs in the jar n if u have 1" headspace it climbs higher than 1" so it will ooze or explode. Thank u for ur down home recipe! Hate modern canning n all the new ingredients. Thank you, thank you!!!
❤wow! This will be my next thing to do!!
Thank you for the video. I didn't know it would be that easy to can apples that way. I'm down in South Central Georgia. Beautiful country down here. Hoping to get some apple trees next year and other fruit trees on our small homestead.
Thank You for this video ❤️ so helpful! I’m going to try canning for the first time this fall! ❤️🙏🏻
I'll definitely be making g these!!
Thank you and God bless 💜👍🏻🙏🏼☕️🍎🍏
Great video! I never knew about this.
...thanks for sharing, it was a pleasure to watch you...
Wow ❤
BEAUTIFUL! 😊 Thank you for bolstering my courage to use my canner for the first time.
Loved the video, happy to subscribe!
Wonderful thank you
The 🍎 s look beautiful
I make my 96 year old grandmother’s apple dumplings recipe…very easy…you could use a few apples out of your jar and still have enough left for your pie:
Either start with a can of crescent rolls or make your own dough and cut it into triangles that will wrap around a piece of your apple to cover it. Use a fresh apple, core and peel or use like a piece out of this jar of canned apples either will work the same way. Wrap each piece of apple in a piece of dough then place in a 9 x 13 casserole dish. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a saucepan add 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar or your favorite sweetener equivalent and 1 stick of butter together and heat on medium heat until butter is completely melted. Pour mixture over apples in casserole then sprinkle with cinnamon and put in oven and bake till dough is cooked golden brown. Remove from oven and turn off heat. Spoon mixture in bottom of casserole over dough and apples and return to oven to keep warm a few minutes until you are ready to serve.
Also great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top…yum yum!
Thank you for your recipe!
Amazing!
Ohhhhh I’ve got to try this thank you .. I’ll be back to let you know
It’s even better if you substitute apple juice instead of water!
That sounds absolutely DELICIOUS!!!
Thank you for sharing this method! I just put up a few jars but used my steam bath canner so next batch I’ll use my pressure canner and follow your example. Thanks again ❤
Enjoyable video.
Thank you . I am going to do it and when I need applesauce, I will make it fresh in the moment!!!
Happy to see I'm not the only one that has my canning kitchen outside! Handy as all get out!
My grandma and aunt and uncle also had their canning setup outside. Similar to this one. I remember them making pickles, and canning everything they grew. Tomatoes, green beans, corn, beets, oh just everything! I also wish I knew what canners she used.
Thanks for the great video I subscribed.Happy canning!😉
Very nice job u did a beautiful job lady
I officially succeeded in using my pressure canner for the first time. The first time is scary but with you step by step instructions it went smoothly and the apples turned out delicious! Very good video! Thanks!
That's AWESOME!!! You should be proud of yourself!
OK. Officially jealous here. 😮 and Officially Still Scared to try mine yet. But GOOD FOR YOU, GIRL! Proud of you from Oklahoma. 😊
@@okiejammer2736Don’t feel bad. It took me 11 years to get up the nerve to pressure can. That canner sat there unused for all that time! If it weren’t for CZcams, it would never have gotten used!! I use it all the time now. Easier than water bath canning because you don’t have to wait n wait for all that water to get to boiling.
I like your outdoor cooking set up. Much more efficient than having to do batches! Thank you for your video!
I love this video I love your candor you made me laugh and I learned something new thank you😄🙌🙏🏼💕
WOW , One days work ,for a years worth of prepared apples , ( YALL ) can,t beat that .
Thank you for sharing
That was a really good video. Thank you for your hard work and for your time. I sincerely appreciate it. I have a pear tree and I think I’m gonna follow your same recipe for my pears. Thank you so much. God bless you with health, happiness and prosperity. be well.
Works great with pears, especially the hard ones. Only thing is pears are much sweeter and don't need as much sugar. Also makes great pear sauce.
My granny canned apples but she put very little sugar in them and left them plain! We had them with breakfast and they were so delicious! Love your canning setup!
My grandma didnt put sugar till she cooked them after opening.
Could you tell me what she used for liquid?
I don’t know what she used for liquid, I imagine water. They had a well.
I think it was 1 gallon water to 1 cup sugar and some cinnamon 🙏❤️❤️🙏🇺🇸
Tyfs I’m fixing to can some
Bout to come real handy in the next 2 years. Dont ask me why 😏
?? Is there a prediction that apple harvests will be low in the next two years? I'm confused by your comment.
You are correct, but if people don't know why, they have been sleeping. Time to WAKE UP folks. Preserve EVERY food you can. Plan for tomorrow because the source of our food may crumble.....
@@melissaohlrich2418 i st here away to make this without sugar? and you are speaking the truth we are facing hard times!
@@totteacher1646 yes ma'am, you can use just hot water, apple juice, cinnamon water, etc.
Do you make applegelly or applejam or applesauce or applecidervinegar fromthe peal and middle of The Apples? Easier to colekt The peals in a bowl directly.
I use an Apple peeler, corer slicer from Pampered chef it will be your best friend. We have an orchard. I ha e used mine for almost thirty years. Love canning. I hope you have a very blessed day! Three pressure canners now that’s how to do it. Have a great weekend! Wendy🇺🇸🐞🙏🏻🦋
What a set up you have. Love it. You sure can get alot more canning g with 3 pressure cookers
Nice Video... I got a lot of useful information. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. Subscribed. God bless 💜🙏💚
Thank you, 😊 need to get a pressure canner.
Thank you! Your apples look beautiful! I’ll be doing this next year instead of making so much applesauce.
I really like your video, My 1st time watching you, But i have to say I have never seen anyone peel anything into their floor! And i live in the country. Beautiful job.
I thought that was odd too. Stickiness everywhere.
Same. Was surprised
My first time watching too. No way would I handle all of those apple peelings twice plus having to mop the floor. I’m glad this works for Miss Lynn the jars look wonderful.
thanks for the video....very helpful ....SEMPER FI
Very pretty!
Thank you!! Never pressure canned my fruit nor thought to put cinnamon in the syrup. Always water bathed them. Will try this quicker way. Thanks for the inspiration!!! I do add honey and ginger to some of my pears. Will try to do them in the canner next time.
How long did you water bathe them for
great set up nice job all points.send me a fryed apple pie!
thanks for the great content, i just picked 2 bushel of apples from an old homestead; one red one yellow, both terrific taste and juice. i don't know their names, but i know how i'm putting them up. happy days!
Morning from Blue Ridge Mountains VA! Just found your channel and how fun it is to have your videos on while I'm canning! Not so lonesome that way since my mom is in Ohio and grandmas with the Lord. Thx and so funny the city comment on the floor. That's what the dog is for, sometimes!
Fall is well under way here in Canada and the farmers market is still overflowing with apples. What a great idea. Thank you. Going to purchace a bushell.
I’m jealous, I live in northern Minnesota and we had a late spring freeze after things were budding so there are no apples, no chokecherries, no blueberries….no nothin this year ☹️
@@rnupnorthbrrrsm6123 In the past, I'd shovel as much snow as I could in a 4 ft radius around the base of my fruit trees to keep an even cold temperature micro climate, preventing an early blossoming and loss of buds when a very warm spell was followed by a late frost.
I can apple pie filling and water bath for 20 min. This is a wonderful recipe and they turned out beautifully
Can I cann carrots using the hot water bath canning way.
@@shirleymckeithen9960Ball does not recommend that- they are low acid so need to be pressure canned
They are really pretty.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️. I’m all for easy! Ya, ya got to clean that sticky mess on the floor, but hey…your floor is washed and cleaned now!! Too funny…🤣🤣🤣. Love it…..
Peelings on the floor, yum!😂😮
Was thinking of trying this using the indoor pressure cooker. But I haven't use it for that yet. You have a good set up to get it done quickly.
I water bath mine!
Today this guy from Wayne County, NY (apple capital of the world), just learned a new way to say apple. haha just having fun, great video, thank you!
I love Fried Apples over Pancakes. Mmmmmmm
Thank you. I will use your recipe this week for my apples. They look amazing!
Hi could you tell me if the video showed that she let it vent for 10 minuted before putting the weight on ? Or just put the weight on . Thank you 😊
@@wimittenmaker1804 she didn’t say anything about waiting ten minutes. Watch the video again.
@@valeriemac3010 Thank you .
@@wimittenmaker1804 I don't think she let the steam out for 10 minutes. Just put the gauge on.
Those peels & apple cores will provide apple juice if you own a steam juicer. It's amazing what you can do w/things that other people just throw away.
