This type of building is called "malosemeyka", one of the cheapest forms of flats those times, another one was called "kommunalka"and did have only single bathroom and toilet for several flats. It was made for recently migrated, students or workers who didn't worked enough period yet to receive more decent apartments with 1-2-3 rooms, balconi, separated kitchen, which ones were called "khrushyovka" actually. It may look ugly and poor. But this way the homelessness in USSR was absolutely struggled over. Whoever you was, an orphan, ex-prisoner or immigrant at least you had a warm place with the roof, water and electricity to live.
Thanks for the information yes I agree it’s better to have a roof over your head and a warm place specially in cold countries like that makes a difference. It’s a good place for a good passing residence but I hope no one makes it their permanent home.

It seems like some Chernobyl local
Khruschev building有点像酒店房间和筒子楼的结合体
