Translation of this song My son did have his birthday, he turned eight years old, my boy He asked me for a kite, of course, he did get one from me And his ball, his bike, his toy trains, he just never gave a look 'Cause his kite now ment the whole world to him, why, I didn't know And then, another morning, he said: "Father, come with me The wind is getting stronger, so I take my kite with me" In one hand he held a letter, in his other hand the kite I didn't understand it, but my dear son said to me: "This letter I wrote to my mother In heaven, high up in the sky So this letter I'll tie to my kite-line And send it to her, I miss her so And then she can read how much I love her still I can't stand that woman that took her place This letter I wrote to my mother In heaven, high up in the sky" This letter I wrote to my mother In heaven, high up in the sky So this letter I'll tie to my kite-line And send it to her, I miss her so" This letter I wrote to my mother In heaven, high up in the sky So this letter I'll tie to my kite-line And send it to her, I miss her so And then she can read how much I love her still I can't stand that woman that took her place This letter I wrote to my mother In heaven, high up in the sky"

Not sure if you have seen or react on Andre Hazes Senior his funeral, but this event was to bizar for words... even for American standards. I mean his coffin went to Amsterdam soccer stadium with more then 60.000 crying fans. All the crowded streets were completely full with people crying and they were throwing roses fluffed bears and other stuffed on the coffin that drove by, Even our queen did not have these kinds of funerals. You could compare this with the death of Prinses Di or JFK or Michael Jackson that is how big this was. Totally something we did not get used to that. So big as that, well i think that this will never happen again in a lifetime.

It's cool to see people from other countries reacting to a song like this. To be honest I despise Dutch music (being Dutch myself) because I generally find it tacky and low quality, but there are some songs, like this one, that are special and every Dutch person knows them and can sing along to them. There does seem to be a tendency though that the best Dutch songs are all sad as shit :D
Check out his song Bloed , zweet en tranen (Blood swet and tears) the played that song on the rememering Johan Cruyff (famous dutch soccerplayer) this video wil give you chills all over czcams.com/video/V9Cx4srWA6c/video.html
He was e very tragic figur. Drank much too much and was very insecure. Married to Rachel, his kids sing too. But if you want to understand Dutch soul look at his memorial as i said, it will ripp you apart. He used to get his father from the pub and sang as little kid on the table

I do not agree that Andre was not the best singer. Because he was a great singer. With another education i think he could have bin a very good classical singer. He was a dutch folk singer and he wrote his one songs . Simpel lyrics and he reached everyone with them. Like te style or not. And yes in this concert he already had hearing problems. By the way all classic music is folk music just in another time. Henk Poort sung a song by him in beste zangers to samantha. "Wees zuinig op mijn meisje"
With Hazes it's kind of 'love him or hate him' I never liked this "Levenslied" genre. Can't stand it. But he does still have a huge still growing fanbase even though he died 17 years ago.
its too bad he speeds it up..the song originally is played and sung on a slower paist...anyway when this song is played it doesn't matter where.. peope will sing it in full volume..usually when in drinking circumstances..the lyrics will do something to you...and everybody knows it..well..not everybody :P
Yes is is one of the many genre of Dutch folk music. Andre Hazes was more into the "Levenslied", translated "the song of/about life". Translation: www.dutchsongs.overtuin.net/translation-70-hazes-vlieger.html

André Hazes Jr. - Ik leef mijn eigen leven | Beste Zangers 2014czcams.com/video/rRG_oU5GRB4/video.html
It's cool to see people from other countries reacting to a song like this. To be honest I despise Dutch music (being Dutch myself) because I generally find it tacky and low quality, but there are some songs, like this one, that are special and every Dutch person knows them and can sing along to them. There does seem to be a tendency though that the best Dutch songs are all sad as shit :D
its the dad of andre hazes jr how sing now to his dad dead 20 years ago
At that time there were no smartphones.
We Dutch are the best.
I’m loyal subscriber please give mr probz waves original not the remix , people would love that.

I wished you had the translation. It’s So sad
Watch it with subs
With Hazes it's kind of 'love him or hate him'
I never liked this "Levenslied" genre. Can't stand it.
But he does still have a huge still growing fanbase even though he died 17 years ago.
Yeah, not my thing either. lol
Hazes over 100 years, still the boss.. in every café.
its too bad he speeds it up..the song originally is played and sung on a slower paist...anyway when this song is played it doesn't matter where.. peope will sing it in full volume..usually when in drinking circumstances..the lyrics will do something to you...and everybody knows it..well..not everybody :P
Reaction " Hãy Trao Cho Anh " Sơn Tùng M-TP feat Snopp Dogg

I seriously NEVER liked André Hazes, but slowly I do appreciate him more.
The lyrics of this one are very touching.
If you knew the lyrics you would die.
Yes is is one of the many genre of Dutch folk music. Andre Hazes was more into the "Levenslied", translated "the song of/about life". Translation: www.dutchsongs.overtuin.net/translation-70-hazes-vlieger.html
