Today, I'm excited to bring you a highly useful and interesting lesson. We're going to delve into the topic of weather, which is frequently discussed in everyday conversations. Discussing the weather involves a variety of expressions and structures in Italian, and I understand this can be quite challenging for learners. Therefore, my objective for this lesson is to introduce you to some fundamental structures that you can use to talk about the weather. These are simple enough for immediate use, even if you're just beginning your journey in learning Italian.
In this session, we will focus on essential grammar points and, more importantly, we'll explore a wide range of specific vocabulary. Even in Latin the word for time also means weather (tempus). It makes sense that the ancients would think that way since the weather varies with time --summer, fall, winter... Also, the only "clock" most people had was the sun in the sky.

Grazie Valentina. I'm fluent in Spanish and "tempo" ("tiempo" in Spanish) is used for "weather" too. I never knew that it was short for "tempo meteorologico!" I started studying the language 30 years ago and now have a university degree in Spanish, and none of my instructors ever mentioned that "tiempo" was actually short for something! We just accepted that it meant both "time" and "weather" for some strange reason. Best wishes from Dallas, Texas!

I have heard people use fare to describe the weather: Oggi fa caldo. Is this also correct?
Yes, that's another way to talk about weather, but has a much more restricted application (esesentially just "fa caldo/fa freddo/fa bello/ fa brutto"). I'll make a video on that too in the future.

Place that before the adjective, like I explained with "molto", so e.g.: oggi è troppo umido

You're messing up "è " , which is stressed and means "is", third person singular of the verb to be ( for example he is = egli è).
Whereas unstressed "e" is just a cojunction which means "and".

No , it's good Italian . Not dialect.
No, it's just another way to talk about weather. However, it has a more restricted application (just "fa bello/brutto" or "fa caldo/freddo", so this is why I recommend starting with the structure I explained in this video.
