Thanks for this Steve, although I’m now pained thinking about all of the images I’ve deleted over the years which would have been good candidates for this. I still find the good old NIK Silver Efex dynamite for B&W.
This is by far one of the very best post processing videos I've ever seen. Thank you!
Can never get enough new information as things constantly change. Learned four important things here. Thanks!
Wow, this is absolutely brilliant and blows my mind! Gives me an entirely new perspective and motivation to go through my images to see what unexpected treasures I can find. Definitely my favorite editing tutorial of the year - thanks Steve!
Agree! As a relative DSLR new year, plenty of “bad” shots to choose from on a bland background that will be perfect for this technique. 👍😀
I love the high key look, but never really thought of it for wildlife. Definitely gives me something to ponder. Thanks.
Awesome video Steve! Thanks for explaining all of the procedures & your personal advice for achieving this technique so well!
Low-Key would also be a great video. Thanks so much!
Thanks Steve. Will be watching this one again. 👍
Excellent, Steve! I've done similar things, but there are, as always, details that matter, and your approach includes some details I haven't used before. Thank you!
This is a real treat - so clear, so effective and showing so much of the new Raw processing tools - brilliant - many thanks.
Love this video Steve! I learned so much from it, thank you!
Great video! I watched it when it came out and came back to it this evening. I wish I could like it twice.
Steve, excellent video as always. I really appreciate this technique as it allows us to basically shoot all day which is wonderful. Thank you again!
Thanks for sharing this! The tip on cranking up the blue to make the sky white in BnW was an eye opener! Great work!
Thanks Steve. I have had problems with the branches. I always painstakingly used clone/heal. Can't wait to try the techniques on this video.
Thanks Steve - very cool technique!
Thanks for this Steve!!!!
Really like the brush to blow out the background tip. thank you so much!
Thanks Steve. Great video.
Wow thank you for the great video and tips!
whoah!!! amazing. i can tell Low Key is next:-)
Thank you for this! I personally don't like doing post processing and I often get really sleepy trying to get something done. These kind of explanations make it a bit easier to stay awake when trying out things as I have a clearer picture of what I'm gonna do instead of just fiddling around with everything
Excellent Video! Thanks for sharing ❣
Very cool, I haven't thought of that before, but now I'll go through my catalog in search for images that might work for this! thanks so much!
I did this and loved it! Thanks !
This is awesome. Thank you!!! Got your book on the Nikon mirrorless autofocus. I'm glad I did! I'm still loving the Z7II. It's a nice upgrade from my D810. Thank you for all your advice!
Excellent video! Thank you.
Thank you Steve. 😊
This is the best video I have seen for this, thank you so much! Really appreciate your clear and concise instructions!
Fantastic video Steve. Loved understanding how to create this technique but it also showed me how to better use LRc as a new user to that software. Very easy to follow and the steps can be applied to execute on my own work.
Very helpful and informative Steve. Thank you. Some great tips there.
Thanks, Steve. This has given me an excuse to explore my catalog (sic) for suitable images to apply this technique to. I feel an editing session coming on...
Thanks a lot for this awesome video..!
WOW!! Steve thanks for this amazing video! I have many images that I have been stumped on how to make them different. I totally forgot about Hi Key Imaging. I use to do this a lot when I was using a darkroom many years ago. Thanks again for a great video. Can not wait for the next one. have a great day!
Thanks for such lovely tips .Nice Video
Great as usual. I have tried this similar method before. Thanks for the great tips.
Nicely explained Steve.
Wow, amazing! I just tested on a picture that was too flat and now it's awesome!
Perfect and thanks a lot for the great explaining !!!
Such a great and helpful video Steve! Would love to see more photo editing techniques on your channel, love your editing style!
Awesome tricks! Thanks
Thanks a lot for the tips Steve. The mask duplication was the cherry on top the cake.
Love it!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you so much.
Wow! Thank you Steve, you helped me save crappy photos and turn them into something perhaps art worthy😁.
Writing from the ‘wet’ coast of Canada with lots of grey days. Very good and appropriate video. Thanks
Brilliant video im now going to try this out thank you 😊
Haven't seen you around for a while - good to see you. Great video, adds "creative" tool to my bag - TY.
Thanks for the inspiration. I've edited my first picture and like it a lot
This is good. I just remembered of a bunch of photos in my catalog that were bland I can use this technique with
Nice job on this Steve! Loved the duplicate the mask technique.
Dude thank you so much for your content 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Awesome. Just started doing this myself.
Great video, thanks a lot!!
Thanks. Loved this video.
Excellent .. Thank you Steve
It looks like Platon's headshots, but for animals! I was looking for some high contrasts tips to apply on my portraits and found your videos. Nice to learn from a different area. Thanks a lot!
Wunderschöne Bilder ❤️❤️❤️
As usual, one word : BRILLANT
Full stop.
Very nice, thank you for the video.
An eye-opener. Thank!
HAH! I think I will revisit some of my boyd shots! Cheers!
Great info. Thanks so much. The new masking tool in Lightroom has made a step change in my editing.
Love it, thx 👌
Great video! And very timely for me since I’ve been working on high wildlife images
Talk about timing huh? :)
I've used this technique in Landscape images, when I have naked skies!
OMG these images are excellent. Great vid, great 'solution' for those crappy sky but interesting subject photos we must all get (it's not just me is it?).
Great stuff , another Steve Perry signature of excellence.
Thanks for sharing Steve tremendous work.
Now how about that Z9 review that we’ve all been waiting for? The suspense is killing me bro come on 😂
Great advice!
Wonderful sir ❤️❤️
You are amazing
I'm a simple man: I see a Steve Perry video, I watch it!
Haha..guess I’m a simple man too
Thank yoy great one
Hey Steve. Good Video as ever. Any plans of checking the latest Z6II and Z7II firmware?
Another awesome video mate! Love high key photography, seeing your take on editing it is great! Couple of questions: 1- Do you use any luminosity masks programs for wilife like Lumenzia or TK...2- Most of your editing takes place in LR & PS correct? no capture one...? Thanks!!!
Another good way to select the sky is to use the 'Color Range' masking tool. You just take a sample of one part of the sky and it selects everything the same colour. An easy way of blowing out a coloured sky if you want to achieve this same hi-key look.
An Awesome way to increase marketitable images while increasing your target audience at the same time.
Hey Steve, would you do a video review using the Z9 + Z400mm f2.8 + the external TC2.0? What is the quality of the photos at 800mm and 1120mm? What effect does this combo also have on AF speed?
Thanks
Great tips! If your whites are blown out and you want to print, what happens? I understand that the printer will leave that part blank.
Hi Steve
I'm sure you have been asked this before, but this is a good video to ask again. When does your fans get your work flow on the Developed side of light room in a video workshop, like you did on the library side? When ..When.. when, lol
Thanks Steve for all your Videos and Workshops : )
The Lightroom library one didn't go over well is the issue. People who have it seem to love it, but my post-processing stuff just doesn't get a lot of attention. The problem is that those videos take a LONG time to do - that was over six months I think for very little return. However, I think I do have a project that may work better. Rather than a complete develop module course, I think I'm going to do a shorter video series that shows my post-processing technique using Lightroom and Photoshop - I think that's what people probably want anyway. It won't take as long and should sell better.
Hey i have a question, can you do a High Key Black White Preset in form of a Cube? Like a Universal Preset so i can convert any Picture to a High Key Black White Image, That would be nice
Hi Steve,
Can you walk your subscribers through the same steps in Photoshop 2022 ?
What version of Lr is this?
Awesome Video Steve! Which camera did you use to capture the picture of the night heron at 0:54? Such a stunning image...
Sony A1
Colouring book photos .
Not "horns" OR "antlers", they are called "ossicones" 🙂 Nice video though, something I will definitely being experimenting with! Thanks for all the great content, looking forward to more on the 800PF.
Thank you so much! I did't know that and I appreciate the info :)
Now I just have to remember it so I can impress everyone in my Africa workshop :)
👍👍👍
As always, very interesting, Can you only do this in raw or can it be done in jpeg?
RAW is best, Jpegs might fall apart if pushed too far.
@@backcountrygallery Thanks
"this is a good technique when your images are less then ideal". Hmmm... I feel like Steve is targeting me. 😂
LOL :)
Am I the only one that thought there was a hair on my screen because of the thumbnail?
LOL, it was a long antenna!
@@backcountrygallery I noticed what it was after the fact, but it still got me at first 😂
Lower the volume on your intros please, its stupidly louder than everything else
Thank you so much Steve!!!
