I always loved Munki the most, even when they broke up shortly after the release. So nice to see them perform these songs. Nowadays they play Cracking up and I hate R'n'R, but Jim sings them. Lovely to see that Willam sang his own songs back in the days.
Good footage of back when William would actually sing live. But man were they both toasted or what! This was 14 months before they broke up but looks like they're ready to quit that night.
Great footage of the brothers at the end, they weren’t getting along at all, they look so much older in these 4 years from 94, Jim getting pretty irritated with those lights William looks out of it, classic records they never put a bad one out
I saw them twice in Chicago that year. First at the beginning of the tour and then after the one brother left the band they came back through Chicago and I saw them the second time. Both shows were fucking awesome
@@charlesandrews2360 wow i remeber that tour sooo vividly I was 22 and had never seen them.....they played a 2 day festival outside of NYC....headlining first Day.....in July i believe....found out late. .had been told on the phone tix were still available, me and 2 friend left the middle of a pool party and raced up ....and were told they would sell us tickets...... but only for the NEXT day when they wernt playing.. .. thankfully isaw, them in May 2007 finally and agin in 2015
@@beauyerks7413 I spent the next five years after that constantly checking to see what the brothers were doing and waiting for them to get back together again. I finally gave up and found other new music to listen to. Then one day in 2010 I saw a guy wearing a jbtv t-shirt. I stopped him and told him that I loved jbtv because that's where I first heard of Jesus and Mary Chain. He told me that they were playing Riot Fest in Chicago that summer. It was an outdoor show and still one of the loudest rock concerts I've ever been to. Too bad they wasted all that time when they could have been making fantastic music.
I don’t think he made a big deal about the lights. If you’ve ever been under stage lights they are incredibly bright and hot, and they’re always in your eyes. I don’t like it either. Great band!
they seem soooò done by this.. they are oozzing anger and fuck itness....always kinda makes me wonder though because......to me MUNKI was a,fuckin beast of an album.....to me their 3rd best after psychocandy and darklands.....67 minutes no weak tracks

they probably thought this was a low point for them, but this is awesome..including going crazy over the bright lights lol!
i don't know what brought me here, but i was at this concert. thanks for the memories.

Never found them playing degenerate before! It's my fave
What a great find!! Thanks for posting.
Great video! Excellent sound and a good lineup. But the brothers´ tensions seem clear.
kind of like ray davies and dave davies...it's the price you pay for being brother musical geniuses lol

Its good that they get along better again and the band is still alive in 2021.
"never put out a bad record" so true, not many musicians can say that...and acoustic versions, demos, peel sessions, etc. all amazing

So that’s what rock and roll is supposed to sound like.

The most badass band from scotland more badass than the exploited and im from edinburgh
Hasn't Jim got wonderful cheekbones?
No. Jim had the voice for the band. But William had vocals that complemented some of the slower tracks,
When it comes to Oasis, forget about the Beatles, they got everything from JAMC~
MERCI ENCORE INDY THE PUNKS WHY NOT
The tail end...... William would quit before the end of this tour because Jim was wasted at a high profile House of Blues L A gig
Same as in Benicassim 98...Drunkest band I've ever seen...Fond memories though..
Whos on drums? From green day😅😅
I'm doubting it was the dr. Pepper & diet coke ... Too bad we never got "to know" the Jesus & Mary chain in the biblical sense ...
very bizarre....🤣
Jim coked out his head...
Arguably William has a better voice than his bro.
