- Bill Bragman, President, YakGear, Inc., goes through the process of installing YakGear's Taco Paddle Clip. The Taco Paddle Clip allows for you to store your paddle when not in use when fishing, swimming or any other activity.

0:55 More accurate to put the clip where you want it, hold it in place, then poke the ink pen through the holes to mark where to drill. That's standard template usage, anyway.
Good info. The dialogue was a bit off, but the written info below the video was correct. I installed the "taco" with no problem. TKS
Thank you!
Good job!
Thank you for this instructional video. My paddle clip came without installation instructions, but your video made installation very easy. One thing I did wrong!...I tried to push the rubber well plugs in the hole before adding the bolt thru the paddle clip - AND THE PLUG WENT RIGHT THRU - lost forever inside the hull!! 🙁 Yikes - lesson learned.
This placement for the paddle clip is NOT ideal. First off, you will frequently hit the clip while you are paddling. Second, if you transport your kayak upside down, it will be a potential obstacle with the cross bars. The best way to determine where to put the clip is out on the water, making sure that it is not going to interfere with paddling. I'm speaking from experience, and I have the same clip on the same kayak.
Excellent point. I will take this into account when I install it myself. Thanks!
Probably the first CZcams comment worth reading.
Loren Rochester - 👍 and thank you! Researching paddle clips before I buy and install, so I'm glad I saw this beforehand. 🛶
Stainless steel sheet metal screws work great, as well, and don't leak either.
Which size well nuts should I get for these standard applications?
I don’t understand how mounting from the outside how it doesn’t come off? There’s nothing holding those nuts into the kayak.
I just got my clip in today. The metal threads are at the bottom of the well nut so when you tighten it will draw up the middle of the insert creating a bulge like a wall anchor would. The clip shouldn’t go anywhere. I might be too late to this question though.
Your description was backwards. You switched the instructions for when you do have inside access with when you do not have access, in regards to using the well nuts.
So if you have access what size drill hit do I need
@@JJDaBossOutdoors I’m wondering the sad thing because if you mount it from the outside there’s no way to keep those nuts from falling out.
One clip will do for one paddle?
Yep! That is all you will need. One clip for one paddle.
Can I use rivets with the paddle holder?
If you don't have access to the inside, I would do it. Make sure the rivet is the same size as the hole you drill.
Why not use silicone, let it dry overnight, then tighten it down? Makes more sense.
You don't need to...so does it make more sense?
You need to do a video for installing the StandnCast. Those instructions are worthless.
Purchased one, broken off from the kayak screwed in part. Now, I have to patch the holes... what a sucky product!
Thanks for the info. Your intro/outro music is trash.
Thank you!
