Im not sure if i will pick a mi12 or a A73 or something next year, sure the mi12 will be faster, but its almost twice the price, and i can easily manage with a upper midrange processor

How do you manage get 3rd party launcher work gestures? In my Xiaomi, it doesn't work I have to use the 3 button layout

4:54 how is your Google Keyboard padded all the way down to the bottom? Literally every 20:9 aspect ratio phone has a space for the navigation buttons even if you don't use them, did you do it for the video using adb commands? But that's just temporary! Do you know of a permanent solution? Please reply!

How did you use the google page to the left of the homescreen instead of the xiaomi app vault?
Some recent version of MIUI has google vault instead of App vault. MIUI 12.5, I guess

That's just how Xiaomi does glass backs. It's the same deal with Note 10 Pro and Poco F3. It feels cheap, but doesn't affect usability. If a solid feel is what you're after, Samsung and Apple are hard to beat. The 4 year old Note 8 still feels indestructible.

Idk, but my nit-picky gripe with MIUI/Xiaomi phones is that the software does not add bottom padding for the keyboard directly baked into the system when using gesture based navigation. It's either the devs of whatever keyboard app you're using add a toggle to add bottom padding or get stuck with inaccurate typing. It's so annoying how easily you can toggle swipe gestures when hitting the space bar since it's all the way down the bottom. I'm so used to Gboard, but now I find myself trying to make do with Microsoft SwiftKey that offers the functionality of adding padding and deciding how big you want it to be.
To use shortcut maker widget in MIUI, it has special permission. I'm currently using shortcut maker on a Mi device.

Ha ha...I did get the Mi 11 and this video encapsulates how I feel about this phone so well...including the issues I had with it early on!
Eventually I just stuck with the MIUI launcher, but minimized those frickin icons as much as I could. I even kinda fell in love with the super wallpapers, but can not wait for that video on how to reproduce your setup.
tbh miui 12.5 is really really smooth and it’s kinda worth sticking with miui? im surprised they got it to operate this good on a 60hz device
@@ahmadhamidi5560 Mi 11 is a 120hz device and it can operate at 120hz on max QHD+ resolution

I love miui but i dont know xiaomi does not add dual pixel and pdaf in the selfir camera? I prefer the pdfa selfie camera on the s21. I will buy a xiaomi when they add that feature in the selfie camera.

Super setup that you did on stock launcher I'm waiting for the step-by-step episode as you did.
Will one make it through the day as a heavy user. Lets say with about 6 hours screen on time??
Most reviewers are saying between 5-6hrs, but when you read customer reviews, they say that you have to charge at least twice a day.
I'm not a heavy user but I do stream music from my phone to my BT speaker from around 8am-4pm and with the usual, calls, texts, social media etc, so I'm wondering how long it would last considering it would be off charge from 6am.

I'm not sure why you're facing issue with the gestures. I use Redmi Note 7 Pro and gestures work really great with all third party launchers for me!! And all the animations also works well.

@@fedjamagga8385 that kind of depends ... what kind of skin on android u like ? if u like other skins ... then its ok. But if u like stock android then u will hate miui. Miui has ADS, bugs which will never be fixed or fixed after a long time.cheak some videos about miui on android then decide.
@@fedjamagga8385 try it yourself don't listen to people. No phone is perfect and there are no major issues with MIUI. I have been using miui for more than 6 years and found it to be better than phones with stockish UI. I also have Pixel Experience installed on my secondary phone which was my primary prior to MI 11x
@@abirhasanshovon1947 MIUI On Redmi Phone have Ads but not on MI phone. That would also explain the bug fixes take alot of time because u using a budget phone LoL

LOVE THE INTRO!
I'm on the Mi 11 Ultra and I hate that I need to use the buttons with Nova.
The beta version of Nova is butterly smooth. I installed the FNG app, used the command on the computer, without root, and still the gestures don't work. That's my main complain of the software, I really enjoy the rest.
Looking forward for your video, maybe I'll give it a try, even if I use the swipe up icons feature to open another app.

Miui is a pain in the ass! I had this same problem + others and decided to root my poco f3 and installed Arrow OS. They really need to improve the software experience. You don't find those bugs in ONEUI

How is the overheating issue today? I searched it on google and it was really a serious issue to the point that it burnt the motherboard for some of the users. It seems like a good phone to replace my s10 but I'm a little bit worried

This video was smooth as butter! Loved the home screen setup, I also hate the default MIUI home screens and your one was definitely inspired.
You could just change the theme and customise as you like !!!!! No other brands provide as customisation as Xiaomi even though there software is buggy
You can actually use any 3rd party launcher on any miui 12 device : Install fluid navigation gestures, install 3rd party launcher, go to settings and enable gestures. There you go.

the phone is nice but they definitely need to improve they software i got the chinese rom variant for one month now and the os bug like crazy and the phone ain't that fast for sd888

i dont understand half the reviews i watch say miui is bad horrible etc etc the other half says its really good which one should i believe cuz im thinking of getiing a mi 11x and the price to specs ratio cannot be ignored but im confused about the software and im using a kind of budget phone running one ui 3.1 how different will it be
I know both OS really well so I can give you some advice. OneUI is the best android OS right now cuz it looks sleek, good for one hand usage and is packed with a lot of useful features you may or not use(especially with goodluck).
There are some bugs in MIUI like those showed in this video and the agressive battery optimisation can be a pain in the ass sometimes but the UI is very smooth with beautiful animations.
I bought a poco f3 (waiting for the galaxy note 22 with the new AMD chip to replace my note 9 which is still working great btw) and I rooted it to install Arrow OS. If you really consider Samsung features stick with a galaxy if not buy a Xiaomi, experience MIUI and if it doesn't suit your taste install a custom rom on it. There are plenty of roms for those devices on XDA.
@@hpit11 won't custom ROM's have their own bugs? Also My device has one ui core so no good lock :( and as for battery optimisation in miui you can turn it off in settings right ? And hows the update situation on Xiaomi does it bring more bugs and ads?
@@johanjoe3012 - some roms have some bugs but developers react fast enough (as long as you can daily drive a rom with no critical bug it's fine)
-You can disable it but for no reason the app still keep shutting down!
-And yeah sometimes Xiaomi updates bring some bugs and can cripple your battery life
@@hpit11 so basically if I get a xiamoni device use it till warranty runs out then install a custom ROM
There seems to be overheating issue with most of 2021 flagship phones e.g. s21 ultra, oneplus 9 pro, mi 11, mi 11 ultra, etc. Pretty much a write off year, hopefully 2022 phones won't have that issue.

The xiaomi 11 lite and Xiaomi 11i are downgrades but they're still good phones if you don't want to spend so much money. Another cheap and good phone is Xiaomi Poco f3
I have it and the heat when i turn on data is a night mare in this summer
