Herrlich Herr Blomstedt. Äußerst gekonnt und humorvoll.
Es war ein wunderschönes unerwartetes Ereignis! Vielen lieben Dank Herbert Blomstedt!
Ich mag Herrn Blomstedt stundenlang zuhören. So profunde Kenntnis, so charmant und humorvoll, so schön, wie er die Melodien und Rhythmen singt. Dieses Video ist ein Juwel. Ich kenne durchaus andere Einführungen vor Konzerten, aber keine ist so kurzweilig wie die von Herbert Blomstedt.
Freut uns sehr, dass die Konzerteinführung so gut gefällt. Wir lauschen auch gerne den spannenden Erläuterungen von Maestro Blomstedt. :)

Tack så mycket Maestro Blomstdet, at this recoding he was more than 90 years old. Always kind and very interesting to listen to. I have met him in Leipzig, Dresden and San Francesco, where he has been working.

Dieser Dirigent ist durch seine Bodenständigkeit, Einfachheit und Herzlichkeit sooo gern gesehen, gehört und einfach sympathisch als Mensch und als tiefgläubiger Christ ! Ich kenne aus meiner Kindheit, wo er bei uns sehr oft zu Hause war !

Wir lieben ihn auch!! Jede Begegnung mit ihm - ob auf der Bühne oder dahinter - hinterlässt einen mit dem Gefühl, dass die Welt ein besserer Ort ist, weil es Menschen wie ihn gibt.

The clear and concrete demonstration that Blomstedt still has not understood, despite his almost 100 years of age, the fundamental difference between "speed" and "time". How painful, then, to listen to his "descriptions", the chronicle of the succession of themes and instruments in the 6th symphony without ever attempting to say anything about the meaning. The mention of Celibidache is an own goal, an absolute boomerang. The advice could also be given to him... "it is better to remain silent and give the impression of being stupid than to speak and thus remove all doubts"

For me to fathom the unusual nature of Bruckner's 6th Symphony, I intuitively came up with a program to provide a narrative for the music:
Bruckner's 6th Symphony = A 24 Hour Day
I. Allegro = Awakening from sleep and galloping away on a horse over the countryside during the sunlight hours of the day.
II. Adagio = Night time, coming home, getting ready for bed and falling asleep.
III. Scherzo = Peaceful dreams of unrelated images passing by through dormant consciousness.
IV. Finale = Increasingly disturbed sleep resulting in nightmares and finally a rude awakening with the return of the first movement Allegro's galloping horse theme in the Coda that concludes the symphony.

Sehr schön, Herr Blomstedt, aber Bruckner war ein Oberösterreicher (kein Niederösterreicher) und St. Florian ist ein Augustiner-Chorherrenstift, kein Benediktinerkloster
