@@mnrrcrafts2220 well in a setting where a women's emotions can cause a hurricane (surprised that there were no complications with that maybe Bruno took the fall for that) and a child who never got a gift so that can cause a panic and people would start to see her as a bad omen and blame her when the house starts crumbling so what if Bruno during the time of like Pepas wedding actively took the blame of causing the hurricane so they wouldn't blame Pepa and when Mirabel didn't get her gift decided to fully commit to the part of villainous scape goat so the citizens blame on him and no one else so mirabel wouldn't get hurt as well forsaking himself for the good of the family (he always said his real gift was acting so acting malevolent would be difficult but not impossible) but that's just an idea that came to my head one day different from him just disappearing and being blamed instead people know where he is and acts all scary to keep people away and not find out the truth

I have to wonder if they originally planned for Bruno to be a legitimate villain in rough draft concepts of the movie.
Evil Bruno looks so cool tbh. But I'm glad he was a subversion on the villain role though. He was my favourite character.
Imagine if this was his voice. Not evil or something, just this voice and always telling prophecies. And everyone is scared of him

Since Dolores' part is sang by the same voice as Isabella's part, it almost sounds like getting a "good" prophecy is worse than getting a bad one because it comes with a very heavy price to pay. I keep imagining a girl traumatized by witnessing either Bruno "feasting" on her lover/lover's dreams, or quite possibly her powers "betrothed" her lover to Lady Death do to how fast they grew.
When Bruno is actually evil:
1:06 yikes... the way Bruno looks at that toy... as if he sees a future, where Antonio gets eaten alive by his own pet, the jaguar. And it feels like Bruno is looking forward to it. Because this outcome will inevitably bring a great grief to the family, which will cause the destruction of Casita and the magic. That'll give Bruno a chance to start a new life in Encanto. Normal life without a "gift", that brought him nothing but pain and exile. And Tio Bruno won't let anyone take that opportunity away... not even Mirabel.
Dayum, I like villain-Bruno. This version of a character always brings so much dynamics to the alternate stories :D

Movie states that some visions have only one path and the others might branch.
I guess... it all depends on the person? Strong-willed folks have more freedom, can affect on stuff they're dealing with etc. And the weak ones are like puppets, they're doomed to stick to their only fate. That's how I understood it, at least.

All these comments inspire me for a character idea, a subversive villain who is good most of the time but when their powers activate they have to do evil things, if they gave in to their dark power they could go far but tragically they are a good person cursed with an evil fate which would be a good subversive foil to a traditional hero archetype who would struggle with the moral conflict a paradoxical antagonistic, like fate is the real villain but nothing can be done.
